I'm back after a few days to say the suspension is well worth the money! Front and back.... Just sorting a battery and controller upgrade from Facebook group now.

Tnx for your video. I tried installing the air version I've just bought on my Essential but I had to give up (for now): the air piston crashes against the front light and I've found no way to shift it a bit away (let alone the bearing wheel won't fit nicely). No way to finish the upgrade, had to rever back to stock. I feel really a boomer...
I just installed the V4 with the coil-over (black/silver), loving it. Would it make sense to upgrade the rear tyre only to 10" to level out the scooter and add a touch of rear susppension? I fon't want to change the front to 10" because I don't want to wear out the motor with my constant speed changes, nor load firmware to compensate. I don't want to add a rear shock for weight and cost. Thanks for all the videos!
Hi John I only ever had the front suspension and never upgraded to the 10inch wheel. Besides you would be better off upgrading both, makes no sense doing just the rear. I tried actually the rear suspension before and definitely could not justify buying it.

I installed this on an Aovopro 2022 model but the clamp doesn't grip the monorim stem tightly so the only thing holding it together is the stem screw. Any suggestions?
Hi, I followed your videos and ordered the black version of the Monorim V2 with the exposed spring as black was a lower key look. Also bought the extender and x-lock (hope I got the names right. Fitted which was a nightmare first time round but your videos were invaluable without good paper instructions. Unfortunately I found with the weight of the Monorim V2 suspension shifting the centre of gravity higher that the scooter could blow over on the side stand far too easily. Also the Monorim mudguard adaptor shifted with the spacers collars when the suspension depressed. This eased when the clamps were backed off a bit, but not any where as good as stock. With all 4 Monorim items bought, I’m down about £155, and no sooner had I fitted the parts, I reverted to stock. The high centre of gravity on the stand annoyed me, and the over all look (in the flesh, not video) looked a bit cheap. Hi Richard and thanks for sharing your opinion! What you could do with regards to the height/weight issue, is to buy the 10 inch kickstand spacer which then can help stand the scooter safer and reduce the risk of it falling over. I’m not sure why the mudguard adapter was shifting. I would suggest double checking the screws/bolts as I’m not 100% sure how that black suspension with the exposed spring works with it compared to the V2 or latest V3 that have the chamber with the yellow/blue springs. I personally have not had an issues and still think they are a great buy. The X-lock is a must for the Xiaomi to reduce the risk of stem issues. But again, thanks for sharing Richard! Scoot safe 🛴

Hi! This is one of my older videos and have since gotten a lot better with tweaking them. I’m constantly trying to improve the videos for the viewers. I really appreciate any feedback! ⚡️
Mine arrived today, got one bolt off on the wheel, but the nut with the cable is like welded on, just not moving whatsoever, so gonna take it down to Halfords and get them to sort it out
@@Movelectrics I'll try that mate, using expensive good quality tools, just that but with the cable I can't undo, literally it's like its welded on majorly tight. Feels like nothing is doing the job
Put the good spanner on the nut, use a tube or something for leverage to put over it. Don’t forget to pull back the plastic cover also like a do in the video to get a good grip.
@@Movelectrics How long approx did the whole thing take to fit. Top video by the way a lot easier to follow than other tutorials I've watched on the Monorim install.
Took about 2 hours give or take. Take your time, have a good 18 spanner for the front wheel nuts and a good Allen set. Thanks for the feedback!! Really appreciate it!!
Did you ever get EXA A5 air suspension for this? Considering them for mine. I've just installed front and rear Monorim on my pro 2 and the spring chambers are pretty awful. Creaky and squeaky. They work well, just noisy. Air is the way I think
@@Movelectrics ah ok, wasn't sure as you mentioned you were going to get the air chamber to replace it. Guessing you didn't in the end? The front suspension kit is so easy to fit, took about 30 mins. The rear kit is a different story, took about 3 hours haha.
Hi sorry to be a pest ! But have they upgraded the suspension from your one as in i have a bracket for the front mud gard different to the set up on the video ? Regards J
Hi there, so i get a V4 to get on my Pro2. After assembling it all i had to get all the screws a little more tight but i'm still hearing some noises like metal hitting metal when a get past bumps, any clue what it might be?
Yellow spring is for lighter riders and the blue spring is for heavy riders like myself (I weigh 80kg) Some people end up using the yellow spring for softer riding.
Hi, I installed my suspension, it's perfect. The Ride is absolutelly smooth. BUT my front mud Shield is "moving", so it scratch my wheel, is it normal ? What Can I do with it. Thanks
Hi Andrej. Great job installing! I also had this problem with my mudguard moving. If you got the V2 version like me, you don’t get anything to secure that mudguard really. Monorim brought out a V3 kit that has an adapter fitted. So I made a video installing the FS adapter, watch that. Mine has not moved since, no wheel rubbing 🛴 ruclips.net/video/SsWwDm0IbJA/видео.html
@@Movelectrics Thanks so much, i think it worked, i was stuck on that part for hours, because i thought that the steering fixture had to be somewhat locked in place. 🙂
I bought 2nd hand scooter and came with this suspension installed, but there is a stem wobble. I am wondering if the center bolt / stem bolt is supposed to be different for this suspension? or does it use the original bolt? Thanks~!
Hi Moto! It’s difficult to say without looking the movement. Post a quick video in the FB group linked here if you want, we can have a much better look tiny.cc/eiktqz You do get a shorter stem bolt with the Monorim suspension.
Hi Get. You are talking about the 2 nuts? Use a good quality spanner (not the one provided as I explain in the video) the cheap spanner provided will damage the nuts potentially. Put the scooter on the floor if needed and get someone to hold their weight on it 🛴
Still had some problems on the suspension like wobbly stem and very stiff steering (it's not the stem bolt) it feels like the bearings just dont move freely. But now i noticed i didnt have those 2 bearings on the down side under the ball bearing, that might be the issue.
Im having issues with unscrewing the nut 😅 I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or if I'm just too weak. Is there any thing that I should watch out for? Because I have fear of breaking something.
Hi Don’t use the tool that came provided. It’s too soft and will round off the nut. Get a better quality spanner like I use in the video. You can also put the scooter on the floor and have a friend stand on it while you loosing it.
@@Movelectrics yeah I have thought about that, but I don't really get why you need spanners on both sides. Do I just hold one in place and pull on the other or can I just use one?
Hi, I have a weird issue, please help me, I have a mi pro 2. For some weird reason, on the front, the small screws to remove are a weird size. 2.5 works just fine on the back caps but on the front, 2 is small and 2.5 is too big. Did they change something so we cannot add these suspensions of change the tires? This seems really weird but I am not going mad... in the back, the included key works just fine...
@@Movelectrics Thanks, I have a complete set for bycicles and none of them fit... This is the weirdest thing that happened to me ever considering that I am the only one who has this issue...EDIT, never mind, I managed to make it work with a 2mm one - they changed it in the meantime. Thanks for the answer
Hi Martin. I am pretty sure I saw this suspension on the Aovo model. There is a FB group I’m sure for your scooter. Ask there first before purchasing 🛴
No need to remove the 8 screws under the plastic wheel caps. That just holds the plastic fork trim to the metal underneath. The wheel nuts should loosen without bending the fork trim out.
I done it to get a good grip on the nuts. You can see when I tightened it back that I pulled the cover out to get a good hold. Many people by mistake have not done this, and have round the nuts off because the spanner was not on correct.
@@Movelectrics thanks for a great video btw, have just finished installing mine on an AovoPro Pro using your video. Had a nightmare getting the steering column off. Needed ‘persuading’! 😄
@@Movelectrics it was a nightmare to get anything tightened initially. I’m fortunately a member of a Facebook group for AovoPro owners, so I asked those members that had the V2 what they thought was wrong. Turns out that using the OEM centre bolt was causing the issue. It’s too long for the new forks so was locking out down the stem before pulling everything together to tighten it up. I swapped it out for one of the inch long bolts that came with the V2 and all was well.
Hello. I've recently mounted my Monorim V2 to M365 pro scooter. But there is a problem with stabilization. If it tighten middle black screw so much, the handlebar is getting too strict. What should I do? Is there any trick for that?
Burakhan Sivri the middle stem screw, the 5mm, you have that too tight I’d say. All you do is loosen it bit by bit until the steering is loose enough to turn it comfortably. You don’t want it too loose either. Find that sweet spot. Take your time.
@@Movelectrics I can easily control the handlebar when I leave it a little loose, but this time, noise starts to come from the handlebar. I've disassembled and installed for 8 9 times :) As you mentioned I'll find the sweet spot soon.
@@Movelectrics thanks. I'm still going through your videos. Really helpful, so thanks for putting in the work for novices like me. Are you knowledgeable on the electronics. Still can't fix old scooter despite soldering motor cable. Maybe it's a battery problem. Its just frustrating that so many things can go wrong so soon after purchase. upgraded to pro now and waiting delivery. I'll probably break that too 😫
Thanks for the support!! I think the best thing is to join the Xiaomi FB groups. They are very helpful! I have the Pro, no issues. I plan on upgrading the controller, battery and possibly the front motor. As it stands though, I’m very happy! So you plan on putting CFW on it?
Hi Shaz! I would suggest not using the spanner supplied to loosing the nut. I used a SnapOn 18 spanner. Put the scooter on the floor of that helps. You can easily round them nuts off so be careful. If you have no luck and round the nuts, get a vice grips and loosing them as a last resort 🛴
@@Movelectrics i used a ratchet to take of the one without the wire. Im not struggling to remove the side wirh the wire. I keep damaging the nut because its so hard to do
I would suggest getting a vice grips since the nuts are damaged. Put the scooter on the floor and get someone to put their weight on it while you try and loosing it. I have many spare nuts in stock if you want them 🛴
@@Movelectrics hi mate. Thanks. I had to take it over to my mechanic uncle and do it i don’t think I would have managed by myself! Installed the V3 with the mudguard bracket and its feels great. Have you used a rear suspension on the m365?
@@Movelectrics I sorted it. For some reason the bearings at the bottom of the stem were not on straight so they started grinding and falling out. Thankfully they had a spare so it's done. Makes such a difference. Thanks for this review.
I know people that have 10 inch and the suspension. They have never had issues. When you do have the 10 inch, you replace the front fender screw with a flat head 🛴
At 9:21 (min 9:21 here -> ruclips.net/video/kPvcoipiAhY/видео.html) what do you mean by ADJUST AGAIN UNTIL HAPPY? What this screw holds or does? Thanks for the video!
Hi Fabio! The middle bolt I am talking about. This bolt basically tightens up the steering. You want to adjust this so that the steering is not too loose or tight 🛴

Hi Mate. My nuts that are locking the wheel are damaged due to the very tight and low quality nut. Any solution? I dont want to waste the money for Monorim that I have bought but not able to install
Hi KL. You must have round them off. Did you use 2 size 18 spanners like a did in the video? If you damaged them, you can try and use a vice grips. Get a friend to hold the scooter for you on the floor and you should be able to get them loose. I have some spare nuts if you want them. bit.ly/3kT0pTy

Hey CL, I'm in the middle of installing a V3 suspension and wanted to check before I move on. I just inserted the rod that attaches the suspension firmly, and noticed it seems like there is some give at the bottom which doesn't seem present with yours at 8:16, I can move the suspension about 5-10mm up if I push the base of it. Did I make some mistake, or will this iron out once everything else is connected? Some pics, if they help: imgur.com/K9zVLw3 imgur.com/DnetqKV
@@Movelectrics Ah, glad to know that's the case, as I did end up going on to assemble it further but was worried I might need to back track! It's looking good overall, did my first test drive to the shops, realized I needed to tighten the bar for the FS adapter really firmly as the mudguard loosened a tad onto the wheel. No idea why, but the wheel brackets won't allow me to put the housing on BOTH sides at once, only one, but was too tuckered out by then to find out how to balance it out :S Still it rides well it seems from the test 🛴 Wanted to thank you for your comprehensive guide, it was a real boon to helping me put everything together even on the new model as there was a lot of crossover. Mine arrived today, got one bolt off on the wheel, but the nut with the cable is like welded on, just not moving whatsoever, so gonna take it down to Halfords and get them to sort it out
Get a good quality spanner for the side you want to loosen, put the scooter on the floor and get someone to put their weight on it 🛴
@@Movelectrics I'll try that mate, using expensive good quality tools, just that but with the cable I can't undo, literally it's like its welded on majorly tight. Feels like nothing is doing the job
Put the good spanner on the nut, use a tube or something for leverage to put over it. Don’t forget to pull back the plastic cover also like a do in the video to get a good grip.
Nice one, will be getting one of these next week so will study your video ready for when it lands.
Thanks for watching!! Yeah it makes the scooter so much better!!
Never tried. Use grease in the chambers.
@@Movelectrics ah ok, wasn't sure as you mentioned you were going to get the air chamber to replace it. Guessing you didn't in the end? The front suspension kit is so easy to fit, took about 30 mins. The rear kit is a different story, took about 3 hours haha.
@@dannybl1 this video was made a good few years ago but ended up liking the stock spring.
I’ve just fitted mine and the stem shakes as though the bearings are gone but there not any help on this would be appreciated many thanks
The main middle bolt needs to be tightened BEFORE you tighten the side ones on at the stem.
Hi sorry to be a pest ! But have they upgraded the suspension from your one as in i have a bracket for the front mud gard different to the set up on the video ? Regards J
Hi Jonathan. They brought out a V3 version that also has the mudguard adapter included 🛴
Which Art shock a5 Suspension is fitting ?
Not sure what your asking. A5 suspension?
Way, waaaaaaay better tutorial than the stupid monorim one.
Thanks
No worries Clement! 🛴
Why do you change the spring? What purpose does this do? Sorry I can't see anything about it on the website I brought it from.
Comes with two springs to interchange from 70kg up to 100kg, customer must use blue spring if over 70kg
Sorted bro
I weigh 78kg so that spring is suitable for me. You can use either really. One is softer than the other ⚡️
Hi there, so i get a V4 to get on my Pro2. After assembling it all i had to get all the screws a little more tight but i'm still hearing some noises like metal hitting metal when a get past bumps, any clue what it might be?
Hi! Everything is tight? Is it the spring that’s making the noise? Post a video on my FB group bit.ly/2NMeXIY
Am late but does it work with essential scooter?
Hi! Yes it does ⚡️
@@Movelectrics damn you respond faster than my mother
Haha I try to help as quick as possible 🛴
That's great news thank you for your help it was straight forward to fit and looks great cheers very helpful blog 😀👍👍
You will love it. Definitely a must have 🛴
pour la mi essantial faut mettre max mode sport après lecfw touring cest une question
Hello. My rod are little bit wiggle at the very bottom part of the rod. Try to do so much things, but I can't solve it.
Everything gets tighter when you put in the center bolt.
Is there any way to make the suspension softer?
You can change to the different spring or upgrade to air shock suspension ⚡️
@@Movelectrics other spring is thicker.. Thats not the solution.. Idk cash in the trash bin.
Yellow spring is for lighter riders and the blue spring is for heavy riders like myself (I weigh 80kg)
Some people end up using the yellow spring for softer riding.
Do you already have the air shock?
Hi Jon! I have the stock spring 🛴
Mine has not moved since, no wheel rubbing 🛴

@@Movelectrics Thank you so much 😇
@@Movelectrics i m thinking to buy Version 4 ? Does it have it too ? What is yhe difference 3 and 4 ?
3 has the adapter for mudguard. I’m not sure about V4. To be honest, V3 is decent ⚡️
I cant seem to get the steering fixture on top of the bearings and the cap on it. It just doesnt stay. Great video anyways 😀
When you insert the middle stem screw, it pulls everything right
@@Movelectrics Thanks so much, i think it worked, i was stuck on that part for hours, because i thought that the steering fixture had to be somewhat locked in place. 🙂
Good job and enjoy
Hi, do you still sell the quality reflector stickers?
Can't find any on aliexpress.
Hi! I don’t sell anything! Best to check Amazon maybe or just buy the strips from Aliexpress ⚡️
hey, is the v4 or v2 suspension better ?
Hi! V4 has the adapter for the mudguard. Juts get that one if you can ⚡️
@@Movelectrics thanks 👍
@@Movelectrics can i install that when i have 10inch whells ?
?
Yes you can ⚡️
Is this kit also for the new xiaomi scooter 3 (mi3)?
Hi
Same kit I think but the bearings are a little bit different on the Xiaomi 3. Join the Monorim FB group and double check ⚡️
What are those red things going round the black brake wire called
Hi A5Gaz! There are just called cable protectors/covers 🛴
Post a quick video in the FB group linked here if you want, we can have a much better look tiny.cc/eiktqz
You do get a shorter stem bolt with the Monorim suspension.
@@Movelectrics actually just fixed it! thanks !
the bottom bearing was unaligned and not going in all the way.
Perfect, good job!! 🛴
Bro skuter xiomi 4 pro already have absorber or not?....
Unfortunately not
Is this valid for the Air VS version of it ?
Same method ⚡️
How did you get the screws off the front wheel?
Edit: I used a set of star keys instead of the provided Allen keys, came off easily
Hi Get. You are talking about the 2 nuts?
Use a good quality spanner (not the one provided as I explain in the video) the cheap spanner provided will damage the nuts potentially.
Put the scooter on the floor if needed and get someone to hold their weight on it 🛴
@@Movelectrics no I mean the hexagonal screws holding the cover the bits you are unscrewing at 3:07
Just use a small hex and unscrew 🛴
@@Movelectrics I used a set of star keys instead of the provided Allen keys came off easily, thanks for the help.
Brilliant well done! How do you find the suspension?
Did you keep the washers inside, or did you move them onto the outside next to the nuts? Video is a bit confusing where you don't show
Hi Robert!
I put every washer back in order as I took off, double check everything including bearing placement 🛴
@@Movelectrics yeah managed to get it mate, looks a lot smarter then in vid 😀😀
Fair play fitting it!! 🛴
Do you think this suspension fit to the scooter hiboy s2 pro...
Hi Luis! I’m not sure! It’s best to ask in a FB for your scooter model ⚡️
@@Movelectrics ask to who?
Check on FB for a group of the Hiboy scooters and ask if anyone has ever fitted this suspension. I think the stem is a different setup on them ⚡️
Is the suspension suitable for the original m365?
Hi! This suspension is suitable for all Xiaomi models, it’s brilliant ⚡️
Still had some problems on the suspension like wobbly stem and very stiff steering (it's not the stem bolt) it feels like the bearings just dont move freely. But now i noticed i didnt have those 2 bearings on the down side under the ball bearing, that might be the issue.
Definitely bearings have to be correct ⚡️
Im having issues with unscrewing the nut 😅 I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or if I'm just too weak. Is there any thing that I should watch out for? Because I have fear of breaking something.
Hi
Don’t use the tool that came provided.
The purpose is for leverage. Applying weight to one side and loosing the other.
@@Movelectrics makes sense now hahah, sorry. Yeah but I got my friend to stand on it and it worked thank you very much
Hi, I have a weird issue, please help me, I have a mi pro 2.
Hi Bela! They should be the exact same. Buy a hex key set and find a size that you can tap in and turn. They are brilliant to have 🛴
@@Movelectrics Thanks, I have a complete set for bycicles and none of them fit... This is the weirdest thing that happened to me ever considering that I am the only one who has this issue...EDIT, never mind, I managed to make it work with a 2mm one - they changed it in the meantime. Thanks for the answer
Try an imperial set. I had to use a triangular bit, ansf replaced them with phillips screws.
Will this work on AOVO PRO Scooter - which is pretty much a clone of the M365 Pro.. if so, I am getting this for mine!
Hi Martin. I am pretty sure I saw this suspension on the Aovo model. There is a FB group I’m sure for your scooter. Ask there first before purchasing 🛴
I love a simple xiaomi. Good Kit anyway !
Some roads out my direction as not the best when I’m going to work. I enjoy it much more now! Have you done any mods yet?
@@Movelectrics Not yet, But I will connect an extra battery to it
Yeah I saw the battery kits, look brilliant! That plus a reinforced controller would be great. A great upgrade! Add it to the list! 👌🏻
Well done!! Everything feels ok? No rattling?
@@Movelectrics it was a nightmare to get anything tightened initially. I’m fortunately a member of a Facebook group for AovoPro owners, so I asked those members that had the V2 what they thought was wrong. Turns out that using the OEM centre bolt was causing the issue. It’s too long for the new forks so was locking out down the stem before pulling everything together to tighten it up. I swapped it out for one of the inch long bolts that came with the V2 and all was well.
Ah right! I’m not familiar with the setup of them scooters!! Enjoy the V2 🛴
Just got my Xiaomi 1S and was perplexed how come my Allen key not working. On mine it’s torx for the covers haha
Same with mine
Can you still fold the bike and lock it to the backwheel latch?
Yes it’s absolutely fine 👌🏻🛴
Burakhan Sivri give the bolt a squeeze, then start slowly turning anti-clockwise, I mean literally bit by bit
@@Movelectrics Hey Glen. I made it. Thank you for your support 👍
Brilliant! Every now and than just check everything👌🏻
You should have filmed the result as well, I'm curious how it looks
Hi Daniel! A full review will be done like I said at the end of the video. This was primarily an installation video.
Scoot safe 🛴
is there any way of attaching suspension to the s1
Hi Kyle
It is the exact same 🛴
Thank you man 👌👊👊
do u know why there is squeaking on the shock?
You can add some grease to the spring area.
@@Movelectrics alright thank u
@@beetlejuice880 you could also spray silicone where the rubber washer is at the chamber. Friction can cause the noise/rubbing.
@@Movelectrics also do you know why when i pass over bumps a metallic sound is being heard im sure it is by the suspension and not the stem
Inside the chamber, there should be a white spacer in the bottom from what I remember.
Hi. My monorim suspension feels super stiff when I pass over a hump in the road....Do you know how can I loose the spring to make it softer? Thanks
Try the other spring supplied
@@Movelectrics yeah, I was thinking the same. I´m 75kg tho....funny. Thanks
@@melquizedec did u solve the problem?
Use the yellow spring and try. It’s for lighter riders but some people prefer it.
@@Movelectrics i am already with the yellow one
Would you also use this with 10" tyre?
If you want! I have the standard 8.5 but feels great! 10s are easier to change though if you get a puncture. Either way, the suspension is brilliant!
@@Movelectrics those should be interesting upgrades to see. Yes, definitely planning putting on CFW.

@@Movelectrics im already using my monorim v4 on the mi 3 👌🏼 thx for the attention
Hope you are liking it
I have been trying to take of them damn bolts off the wheels for 25 mins now. I can't do it haha. My brother helping me two of us can't do it lol.
You will love it! I’m currently thinking about the rear suspension 🛴
Can this fit on my Aovo pro bro
Hi Bunks! I think they do but, I would suggest asking first. I’m sure there is a FB group for that model 🛴
Followed the instructions and my steering is so stiff!
You have tightened the middle screw way too much. Loosen it slowly until you are happy.
@@Movelectrics I sorted it. For some reason the bearings at the bottom of the stem were not on straight so they started grinding and falling out. Thankfully they had a spare so it's done. Makes such a difference. Thanks for this review.
@@EmpressAuset yeah the bearings have to be 100%. Good job!!
Big defect in the design if you use 10 inch tires is the fender can hit the tire if you hit a big bump. That means big crash and broken teeth! 😬
I know people that have 10 inch and the suspension. They have never had issues. When you do have the 10 inch, you replace the front fender screw with a flat head 🛴
What is the difference between v2 and v4? Is there a huge difference between those two?
The v4 has the adapter for the from mudguard already included and fitted. Get that version ⚡️
Hi Mate ,I have recently installed the same suspension on my m365 and I having problems with my steering. There is play when I stand on my scooter and rock the handbags back and forth there is a little play I don't know what to do please can you help? Thanks

Hi KL. You must have round them off. Did you use 2 size 18 spanners like a did in the video?

Funny point alright! Bouncy suspension just like the Kangaroo ⚡️
Hi Shannon.
Once you tighten the middle stem bolt, it pulls everything together 🛴
@@Movelectrics Ah, glad to know that's the case, as I did end up going on to assemble it further but was worried I might need to back track! It's looking good overall, did my first test drive to the shops, realized I needed to tighten the bar for the FS adapter really firmly as the mudguard loosened a tad onto the wheel. No idea why, but the wheel brackets won't allow me to put the housing on BOTH sides at once, only one, but was too tuckered out by then to find out how to balance it out :S Still it rides well it seems from the test 🛴
Wanted to thank you for your comprehensive guide, it was a real boon to helping me put everything together even on the new model as there was a lot of crossover. Honestly woulda been lost (or even more lost) without you and one other guide I used along the way, as DIY mechanics is by no means my forte! Cheers ^.^
