- Hello,
this time I have a rear suspension KONYK for the xiaomi M365.
The key highlight for this suspension is of course air shock.
Where to buy? The buying process was a bit weird and took a bit of time. I had to find the seller's contact on his youtube page: / @1exist and then reach out to him on Telegram @Xilston. Telegram group: t.me/m365suspe...
The seller has replied after a while and I have paid him through the TransferGo app as he did not accept PayPal. Shipping to Denmark took about 2 weeks or a bit less.
*The rear light cable snapped not because I hit it somewhere, but because the rear fender is moving with the suspension. I will need to figure out some more creative way to run the cable to the tail light.

I bought a suspension very similar to this one. It has a visible black spring and not this Konyk one, but it can change. I have to say, you do job very well, of course it's also adjustable. I cut the piece of the fender with the three screw holes that they used to use to stare at it.
Someone already told me there were similar suspensions on aliexpress. I will probably 3d print a shorter fender, but need to find time for it somewhere :))

wow, with all those upgrades, pretty much you are paying for a price that can buy a Zero 10X or something nicer. you made the common M365 completely Un-Common. You just made me Miss my M365 that I have sold a while ago.
Yeah I know man :) I am getting some channel monetisation money and putting into these upgrades so people can see what works and what doesn’t. I am not sure if buying a acooter with all the upgrades already is not a better solution :)

@@michaelbmw1931 I like the monorim v2 in front. And konyk at the back. That does bot mean they are “the best”, plus have in mind that I am using air shocks both at front and the back that makes those suspensions work well

is the rear shock absorber 150mm or 165mm? Scooter looks really flat taking into account that front suspension is higher than stock one.
The rear tire is 10” and the front one 8.5” :) I think it is 150 but don’t quote me on that :D

it looks like part of the effect of the rear suspension comes from the low pressure of the rear tire. would be great to see what realy happens when the tire has a proper pressure.
I need to inflate it of course :) I do not think it will impact the work of the suspension a lot. I might film a follow-up at some point if it ever stops raining here like crazy

You need to upgrade the front to Monorim and buy separate the same air shock on it that you have on the back, I have this on mine and it is great!
I have ordered the Chinese rear suspension off eBay here in U.K. which looks identical to this for around 55euros and it does come with a brake cable extension piece, rear light extension cable. I have the same rear air shock ready to fit to it. In total cost me about 99euros delivered.
I am considering the monorim 👍🏻
It would be interesting to see how many differences there are compared to the chinese rear one 🙄

I noticed that you are driving with the battery lid open. That is quite risky, because water could get inside the system and completely ruin the scooter. I wouldn't recommend doing that.
I know man, fortunately in my last 2 years of riding scooters (a lot in the rain) the water never got in there. I simply hate that plug, it is not easy to close :)

i have same froont suspension and bouiught back to from china 75 euro for both they are amazxzing the friont its super for the price bnnothing can beat it! btw if u bought frioom kina u get fre kickstand haha just waitoing for my 10 inch tuires comes this weak and have 135mm and xtech brakes goonna make it a rocket

Is there a front suspension which you do recommend? I might actually buy the Xioami with this.
So I have not tried, but everyone talks positively about the Monorim V2. Apparently, you can fit it with the same shock absorber as this one on the rear. I cannot fully confirm it as I have not tried it myself
monorim is the way to go. i would recommend the one with the exposed spring (model t0-s) because you can adjust it to your preferences. the monorim with the enclosed spring looks better but has only two options (2 different springs) for adjustment

@@soumynonareverse7807depends, if you go in wet/muddy roads then obviously yes you need one. you can use the original xiaomi mudguard, but if you meant the mudguard holder there is also a monorim fender adapter. looks crap but does the job. if you wish a good looking one you can print a 3d model. there a few free models to download at thingyverse
Unfortunately, the mudguard is fixed in the same way as with the china suspension, it will start to rattle while driving.
That's a real damper, not a useless spring👍

Not only for this part but more like a DIY general advice. For Any 2 pieces of metal rattling, just put a piece of rubber or plastic between the screws, get longer screws if you need to. Problem solved

Man, those bolts that hold the stop mud in the back is my scooter got broken... so to me is kind of impossible to install the suspension. Have u ever saw something like this? Because I see is essential to attach this part and it's very hard when u have only one bolt available
Well, if you have at least one - you can always find some bolts for replacement :) if they are not “generic” ones that you can buy by measuring the size, then you will find them on aliexpress somewhere I am 99% sure

I’m not a fan of modding the m365 too much. Would rather get a second off road scooter built with suspension etc. At some point all that added weight has got to start being a negative.

I do not feel the weight while riding, but you have a point here :) I would say money-wise it makes more sense to buy a more expensive scooter with suspension, more power and bigger battery :) at the same time it is fun to explore :)

Front suspension is bottoming out really bad. Horrible front suspension! Get yourself the new Shark Set Suspension!! Back suspension is ok. But you need suspension with coils/ springs on outside and adjustable if you want.

I barely use the negative chamber on scooters. And my rear one is a single chamber one :)

Hi, no mate. This is the only one rear m365 suspension I have tried. I did not like the looks of the monorim split fender :)
Curious if you can have a pneumatic front and solid rear tire setup with full suspensions. Since study says 90% of flats happen on the rear tire. To see if rear suspension can compensate the ride quality of rear solid tire. But at the same time your still have pneumatic front to balance ride comfort.
I think you could, but honestly almost any pther tire but the stock one lasts forever without punctures. I have other scoots on solid tires and I do not like theor grip, do not trust them on corners... For now I am keeping the 10” air tire at the back and just installed the 4th gen CST 8.5” on the front.
On the order sheet says for m365 and another for the Pro, if I have a Pro will it work? How about weight limit?
For the pro they are different. I do not know about the weight limit, but my shock absorber is pumped to a very low level, compared to mtb or what the pump can do 🙄 and I am like 85kg
what did you pay DKK in total for that thing? mmight go with it instead of monorim MR1

If I remember correctly now it was around 150 eur with the air shock, so somewhere around 1100DKK or so.

6.53 Umm nope the stand does work you have just mounted it the wrong way.
What way should I mount it? It is way too short after 10” tyres + double suspension, does not matter which way you will mount it. It needs to be like 5-6cm longer

How does this one compare to the aliexpress rear kit? Is the shock 150mm?
The rear shock is 150. I cannot compare the aliexpress one as I did not have it :) From the looks they look rather similar, I do not know if there is any difference in the bushings and steel itself 🙄
I was very unhappy with the quality of the front one from aliexpress and did not want to try the rear one :)

Hi man, thanks for the comment. I did not like how monorim looked. Reminded me of toyota prius 😂 this suspension still works fine after a lot of abuse, I am happy with it. I have installed the motor in the rear as well, still works fine.

Well, by the feel it definitely does, but I did not disassemble it (and I am not going to unless it will start to leak one day) :)
what to use to lubricate the air suspension of the A5-RE exa form?
Never lubricated it yet. Maybe someone else will have a good advice
There is no need for any external lubrication. Instead those shocks require periodical air spring service as well as damper service. Search youtube for videos explaining air spring service of any generic mountain bike shock (rockshox monarch, fox float). Same applies for this one as it looks like the same and it is produced by Kind Shock, company known to manufacture some mtb components. As for service intervals they are roughly 25 hours for air spring and 100 hours for damper. Could be more depending on seals used. Also based on my experience servicing mtb suspension (like 12 years) I would recommend servicing it before use because sometimes factories assemble those shocks with little to no internal lubrication(a common problem back in a day, rarely encountered for few years, but given how easy it is to check - I always prefer to make sure the unit will last).

The way metal bends at 2:43 is not good. Put a broad washer there. Also the brake housing is too tight and straight, tha cable causing excessive friction and wear.
if you buy the monorim suspension you get the plastic bit for the stand and you get the extra cable aswell so that should solve your problem or just cut a piece of outer of a other cable for your,s hope this will help you abit. and no don,t put them horrible hard tyres back on i have just put mine soft tyres on mine and i love them and i have got some anty puncture tape on mine so im hoping i won,t get a flat lol

There is a 3d printed hook you can install on one of the top horizontal shock absorber spacers (red ones). But I assume it would rattle when riding and did not install it.

What sealant are you using?
Good question. Some sort of generic silicone-based black sealant from local hardware store.
The front suspension is only noticeable if you have semi solid tyres on the front wheel.

@@VRMinde Now that I watched the whole video. I realised that the front suspension on mine could be a lot better as I have a spring rather than a air shock absorber. It still works but having the option to fine tune it would be great.
If only they made the side plates out of carbon fibre as it's light and strong. My scooter is starting to get heavy with these additions.
Suspension needs to dampen both ways to work :) I think carbon parts would be possible to do. Then not the weight of the scooter is the biggest problem, but the lost weight in the wallet :D
@@VRMinde Not unless you buy the carbon fibre cloth and resin and make it your self and then cut out the shape. 😏

That is one of the things on my “to do when I have time list” :D Now with front and rear suspension, even the longer kickstand + 3dprinted extension is too short anyways!

@@baghdade I did not order it yet, I have monorim waiting to be installed, Kugoo Kirin S1 to be reviewed and another product from other industry for other channel :) So I am a bit busy, therefore, if I will do comparison it will not be sooner than about 2 months I think...

The rear suspension is not heavy, to be honest. I did not try to weigh it in but there are weights of all the parts in one of the konyk videos.
I am probably going to go with monorim v2 on the front fork. Then I am still looking for the inserts to make the m365 2WD and then I want to move my external battery with Rita on the black scooter. Then I will check the final weight of the scoot with all the modifications :)
It is not very concerning for me as it is parked on the ground floor and stays on the ground floor 99% of its' life :)

@@VRMinde there are many tutorials out there, its really just like riding a bike, i have the basic b-hop skill, and when I jumped on a m365 it felt like home.
@@piciu256 I can bhop all of my mtbs, including the electrical one weighing 25+kgs. On the scooter though is another storry :) I agree with you - I need to work on it. Have not seen any videos on bhop technique on escooters yet
@@VRMinde actually, I checked and there appears to be no videos at all about how to jump an electric scooter specifically, so I'll make one, dont expect it to be of amazing quality or anything, but I think it'll give a good idea what to do. Tomorrow will be the day, since today there is not enough light.

I saw someone making those. I am not sure if it's necessary though. My MTB has single rear air shock and it gets so much more impact on drops :D

Wear a helmet. Be ready to fall. Do it pn your own risk - it is dangerous.
Stand sideways on the scooter so you can steer with your body weight, find a nice even road and set cruise control. The faster you go - the scarrier :D but also the more stable. Balance body weight on both feet evenly and start letting the hands off the bars for a very short time. That will make a start.

What PSI did you put on the rear?
Hey mate, I adjusted it many times, depending where I ride. If I go jumping on pumptrack I inflate more, if I ride in city - less. I don’t remember exact number now

There is not much financial benefit in upgrading the scooter. This one at least works, on the contrary to the cheap Chinese front one :)
@nerk23 do you mean that someone should buy a scooter with integrated suspensions so it would be cheaper than buying the xiaomi and modding it with suspensions?

@@nerk234 i my opinion it lacks the front suspension to make it practical. by installing one you remarkebly lower the risk in getting a flat tire. and changing the front tire is horrible. the solution might be solid tires but they lack the grip that pneumatic tires have.

The g30 cannot compensate for what has made the m365 an all-rounder - the price.
Actually it was a very expensive downgrade for me at 800 € considering what my m365 can do now. The m365 has grown too dear to my heart, i have already ordered aluminum electrodes to weld the frame back together.
The 20 kmh from the g30 quickly become annoying when I consider that my m365 simply drives 45 kmh.^^

@@Bergwacht Be carefull when you solder with those aluminum electrodes because they are made from softer aluminum and the frame will not be as strong as original.
I reccomend before you solder it ,to drill a small hole in the end of each crack to stop the crack go further.Then solder it and then reinforce it with somme steel .
Better its to buy another new board.

@@VRMinde If you look at some of the clone zero 10 X scooter designs, you will see they are based on the monorim rear suspension design. I do agree, at first it looked a little off-putting, but once you get it installed, you get used to it. It is also a far superior build to any other rear suspension out there. V2.0 will be out sometime in June i believe.🛴😊👍

@@VRMinde It's build is FAR superior, i.e Much Much stronger! The Konyk one doesn't look very strong, and is only connected by the original rear axel. Monorim is drilled to the frame itself, making it (imho) a far superior build.
But like i say, it's just my mho. It still looks ok, i do like the fact that it has a proper air piston shock, & not a spring. That is my only plus with this suspension😊

Just curious, what air pressure do you have in your tires? When you jumped the rear tire almost looked like it had to little air in it? 🤔 Do you have that for some good backthought for that?
i personally got the monorim v3 front suspension and will get my konyk next week.
Also have air shocks back and front, but im still experimenting with air pressure in shocks and tires to get a really smooth ride. Thats why i asked! 🙂
Hi mate, I just had the tire on a bit of low pressure on the day of filming :) I do not play that much on my scooter tire pressures - just inflate them to the max recommended and (as you can see) forget to pump it up sometimes 😂
I change the suspension pressure a bit now and then depending where I am going to ride.
