Yu Yu Hakusho and Fist of the North Star are practically required watching for anime fans. It's amazing. The guy who created Hunter X Hunter also did Yu Yu Hakusho so you'll see some similarities.
People really ignore the effort and skill functional afterimage entalls. You gotta run to the next spot, make a a fraction of a sound, run to the next spot move the hotdog slightly, make a fraction of a sound, run to next spot and so on. And staying in proper postion or you get blurry from not lining up your movements. And the more speed your peers have the less action you can do per stop. Like 30fps vs 60.
Yes, Kenshiro is that badass. It is from the 80s so the animation is hit and miss and there are a lot of long scenic shots/scenes but well worth the watch.

Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star is one of the ur examples of the badass martial arts anime. It's a bunch of barrel chested guys with ridiculous powers in post-apocalypse-land, shouting the name of their super-ultra-mega techniques in fights to the death. The blood is toned down in the anime, but Kenshiro (the main character) knows an assassin martial art that's all about pressure points, so he taps you in certain spots and your head explodes or something, and that's not a metaphor; dude blows up heads. It's, like, his go-to move.
When you finish this series you might want to watch Hellsing or SAO abridged next. I'd put both of them on the same level of quality as this series, so you definitely won't regret it.
Just in case you didn’t know, Fist of the north star is where “Omae wa mo shinderu” comes from. It translates to “You’re already dead” which is what he was saying so yeah.

The blood is toned down in the anime, but Kenshiro (the main character) knows an assassin martial art that's all about pressure points, so he taps you in certain spots and your head explodes or something, and that's not a metaphor; dude blows up heads. It's, like, his go-to move.
When you finish this series you might want to watch Hellsing or SAO abridged next. I'd put both of them on the same level of quality as this series, so you definitely won't regret it.
