And if you’ve watched Gary for a while you know that some of his videos revolve around what works for him, his needs/wants and his opinions, others reach specific audiences, others help people make upgrade decisions, some are just for fun, etc. Also, if you want different content, why not make suggestions that he can consider? I know he’s open to feedback because he’s responded to something I pointed out before.
Definitely agree. They use the exact same accessories every time. Nothing new. There is only so many times that you can hear something calling a keyboard revolutionary before u get bored
Most of my traveling is for work so I lug around both my work laptop, a Dell, and my M1 MBP. To save weight I no longer bring a keyboard but I do bring the LogiTech Pebble for the Windows machine. I also bring a 100w Anker charger and a charger for my watch.
why would you get all the separate things though? I have one hubble that was like 20 bucks and it has 3 USB-A ports, HDMI, SD cart, 2 USB-C ports and even an ethernet port i never use lol. It's connected with a small USB-C cable. Works perfectly and i only have to remember one hubble instead of like 4 different small pieces
Had the need for wired EtherNet port so purchased USB C to Ethernet Adapter, Vilcome RJ45 to USB C Thunderbolt 3/Type-C Gigabit Ethernet LAN Network Adapter, Compatible for MacBook Pro 2021/2020/2019/2018/2017, MacBook Air, Dell XPS and More. With my Apple M1 MacBook Air and have power plugged into one of the two ports. This adapter plugged into the other one. have the ethernet connection I need and three USB 3.0 ports to plug other devices into if needed. Also carry in this case both USB A to USB C, and USB C to USB A adapters.
I don't know about him but for me never put that on your computer, especially a expensive computer like an apple one it will ruin the coding on the original screen and when it comes to taking it off it can Make the screen unusable.
I honestly think none of these accessories are needed for a MacBook air.. it comes with a great charging adapter, keyboard is great, you can simply use the trackpad... that is the whole point... less is more!

I got a case and bag for mine. I don't like anything loose in my bag at all. I like to keep things nice and organized. The OCD in me just can't. I am so glad you did this video. I do travel sometimes so having a video on the must haves for the MacBook.
i just upgraded from my late 2015 intel i5 iMac 8g-1tb hdd to the 2024 Midnight M3 MBAir 16g-512g and I use both the iMac’s wireless keyboard and mouse while using the lightning to usb-c cables to charge them w/ my anker power banks or wall chargers while I’m traveling.
Anker 7-1 usb-c hub. Tomtoc case sleeve. Anker GaN charger w/ USBC cables 2x. Anker battery bank 24,000 Mah. Apple 35w dual charger. Tomtoc tote bag, air pods pro 2. And a Benchmade mini griptillian. All in a coach messenger bag. M3 Air 24gb w/ 1TB, 13".
I need more convincing on the right charger for travel. The 70W one supports fast charging and you can charge other devices using the ports on the Mac. The 35W one doesn’t fast charge, and if you have two devices plugged into it then the 35W is split. It seems like the 70W one is more versatile for a small penalty in weight.
Gary ... that keyboard goes more than a month even with heavy usage. Just charge it before your trip and triple check the charge before you go. Then leave the lightning cable behind.
Guarantee almost no one here travels for work or has "clients." In movies it seems like everyone has jobs that they travel for on "business" trips and have clients and they wear suits and shit. But most people dont do that.

I like these videos but honestly…as a real ‘everyday’ dad…I can’t afford the latest Apple products anymore.
