I loved it. I am one of those women who loves what I call "Male soap operas.""" " Strikeback, The Unit, S.W.A.T, Seal Team, JAG, etc. What you thought was slow was laying the groundwork so you understood everyone's agenda and the stakeholders. I love the stockbroker husband who has the ear, both political players and the money players. I love it when he interacts with Nicole Kidman character and they speak in a well-known code. You just know that they each came from wealthy families. I also love that there are these two high-ranking women who have worked their way through the ranks. I think it's a different perspective. We have mainly seen men go to war. They think of their wives and children and what they're fighting for. They take it for granted that their wives are just going to keep everything together on the domestic front. And now it's women engaged in war. With one of them experiencing drama in her home life. I think it's reasonable that the teenager would resent her long absences and would act out. A husband that still loves her, but as adults, they have given each other permission to get their emotional and sexual needs from other people during the absences. I just think they had to this kind of groundwork, so the second half would take off with a bang. And I love that Cowboy. For one thing, you are supposed to wear cologne out in the field. It is like lighting a cigarette at night. Then Zoe's character says he's such an asshole and he replies, and good-looking too. And she says that makes it worse. I was very satisfied with the whole show. Was it perfect? No. But I personally it was close 4.0 - 4.5/5.
