I feel you about New Orleans. I live in NYC and my partner gets so angry whenever I say New Orleans is the best city in the US. That city is so magical, romantic, haunted, and musical. I'd move there if I wasn't convinced I'd eat and drink myself to death if I lived there.
are we in wonderland? I'm guessing he's well rested considering they were shooting a music video and during broad daylight. Who knows, he can have a metronome in his ear that is laying against the couch. ~~~~ The camera is not some magical portal to something that happened. This was all staged.
@@williamwilson4424 @TheTomFranklin I’ll take this one Mr. Franklin….Um, Billy Boy, my man. EZ TIGER. P.S. Please promise u will count backwards from 10 the next time you get cut off or tail-gated by some A hole on your commute 2mrow. (or more, if needed, as the situation can sometimes dictate.)
So glad you got to this! I’ve watched every video on Western AF a dozen times over, there’s so much hidden talent out there. Unreal. For anyone who wants some more western AF gems check out “Railroad Ghost” by Jason Dea West. You will not be disappointed!
Michael. Sir, I’ve come in and out of watching your videos but something possessed me to click this one and boy I’m glad I did. This recording and Sierra Ferrel doing In Dreams(sp?) in NOLA are two of my ALL. TIME. favorite recorded music moments ever. And this is why I have subscribed to your channel as long as I have. Honest, authentic and vulnerable. Every time! Thank you for being one of the few real RUclips channels left in a world of bullshit. Stay rad and stay raw, brother
Stumbled upon your channel about a month ago, and just love it. Your passion for discovering music shines through you, and the whole community. So glad to be a part of this. If I could make suggestion, for you and anyone else that happens to read this. Please check out Sierra Ferrell. Oh man! So much to like, some great bluegrass, with some interesting Eastern European chord progressions thrown in to the mix.
I've been down this rabbit hole and then I discovered Leyla McCalla singing Haitian folk songs....some deep soulful stuff..not sure if they're sisters but Leyla plays cello ..Sabine plays a Les Paul and the blonde lady is a singer...the brunette plays upright bass...I think the guy snapping his fingers is the drummer and also I believe plays banjo
I really appreciate that you just didn't talk too much during this, you paused when you could but it wasn't an interjection every 5 seconds which ruins the vibe. Instead you were visibly excited and feeling it.
Been watching your channel for about a year now, love your content and all the new music you’ve helped me to discover! Ive got my own suggestion for a video, a group named sticky fingers has a song called cyclone that will impress for sure! Thanks for all the musical knowledge!
The guy with the snaps is Sam Doores, solo stuff, The Deslondes, Sam Doores Riley Downing and the Tumbleweeds and oth projects. New Orleans musician who showed up in the HBO show Treme as well. Well worth looking into.
Wow that was great ! My plan is to travel from Sydney to the top of Highway 61 and take it slowly all the way to New Orleans (not america) as you said , and more than likely , fall in love with a local Woman that has a voice like an angel , and live in not America if she didn't want to live here . ✌️♥️🎸🇦🇺🇺🇸
enjoyed your analysis... i duno if you've ever heard Kassi Valazza but she does this lil duet with Taylor Kingman... "i stole the right to live". it's good for your heart Bro :)
I think I'm in love with her. I can just picture going down to Mardi Gras and hearing that voice and spending the night with her. I haven't felt much of a romantic vibe in a long while. It makes my heart hurt.
Everyone needs to spend time in NOLA, they whole city not just Bourbon Street. Lived there as a kid and go back as often as I can. There is no other place like it in the world.
Loved this... if you like this vibe watch a 2004 movie entitled "A Love Song For Bobby Long" starring John Travolta. Shot in New Orleans off Magazine Street. You'll love it.
Michael, not a member, but I like your channel. Loved this one. If you like New Orleans, check out Anders Osborn, John Cleary. Subdudes, Troy andrews. Thanks for what you do.
I've heard you were a huge fan of P.Funk, and I really enjoyed your Knee Deep video, so I was wondering... Could you do a reaction or breakdown of the Funkadelic track "Groovallegiance"?
Yes! Casey Jane (The Lostines), Sam Doores (The Deslondes) & Gina Leslie (from Gina Leslie ... worked with Sam Doores Band, Esther Rose, Ric Robertson, and her family band, The Bad Bad Leslies). Beautiful voices together.
Sabine McCalla is a big favorite! Happy to see her get more cheers. Listening to this song in particular though, especially with all the pauses, for some reason just reminds me of the Twim Peaks theme song. ruclips.net/video/nCn3LYqCnrk/видео.html&ab_channel=AngeloBadalamenti-Topic Very moody and mellow.
Hurricane was actually written by Levon Helm. His original has a little more of a "country" vibe and it's a heck of a song, but I love the way Band of Heathens took it and "rocked" it up. Any time I try to cover it, I try to do their version, minus the fancy lead playing lol! I'm not a good lead player, but maybe one day!
@@stitch1299 You are correct, I just went to his wikipedia, says he was born in Arkansas, doesn't mention anything about New Orleans, I don't why I had that in my head!
I'm a new fan. Can't pay for the elite status. But Math Rock... Mainly the world's first (well known) Emo song. American Football - Never Meant 2nd and 3rd choice would be Minus the Bear or Jon Gomm
Would love to hear you react to Lizzy McAlpine's live version of 'Never Gonna Be Alone' with John Mayer and Jacob Collier. ruclips.net/video/2ScNNmzlFmk/видео.html
One of my all time favorite songs. So glad to see incredible artists like her getting the attention, acknowledgement, and exposure they deserve.
Dude ikr she needs to be known for sure I’m a huge fan of hers always have been since the beginning
that choral new orleans exploded in my head and i wept for like 30 seconds.
what a talent
my god

How laid-back? Dude is barely awake, snapping the time and cooing harmony. 😍

I’ve always liked when she almost breaks down at the beginning. That’s how you know she writes her life and feelings.
So glad you got to this! I’ve watched every video on Western AF a dozen times over, there’s so much hidden talent out there. Unreal. For anyone who wants some more western AF gems check out “Railroad Ghost” by Jason Dea West. You will not be disappointed!
Man, that first harmony gave me goose bumps.
Absolutely love this. Authentic, honest, and highlighted so many things that make this such a beautiful piece of music.
Another great find!!
Love the rhythm section on the couch!

Ultimate New Orleans band I promise
Damnn.. That is the best song I've ever heard.. And she is so beautiful too..

Just gorgeous... and needed, oh so needed!
Michael...what a great channel. Your comments are great. Sabine McCalla is something else. Loved it.
That was lovely. Thank you.
Amazing song
I spent a lot of time in New Orleans in the 80's... Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest many times. I experienced amazing music and food and people.
Michael, you gave words to the way NOLA made me feel when I visited her--graciously pre-Katrina.

+1000 for STIFI boys from Straya!
One of my favorite videos for the last 2 years
Got to love Mr.P. It's great to watch and share these videos with you. Best internet of the week. Sabine was pretty good too.

Those harmonies cut into my soul. Damn
Great. You should check her older sister music, Leyla McCalla, if you don't know her.
New Orleans one of the jewels of the South. All American music is southern music. Come at me Yankees. 🤠
guitar teacher man - you are a cool guy

This reminds me a bit of “The Civil Wars.” They did a song with Taylor Swift titled “Safe and Sound.”
John Cleary……………N’orlens via Britannia….True N’orlens soul !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. ❤ "not anywhere else either" ... "there is nowhere else it could be"... got another artist channel to explore.
“There It Is”… ahh yes, Searching for Bobby Fischer… ‘Snap’ 👍🏻😎
gotta do "Wait in the Truck" by Hardy. your type of story telling music..
Reminiscent of Hallelujah by Leonard C and Sweet Jane by cowboy junkies
Do I also spot one of the ladies from the Lostines in this video? You could certainly do a video on their WAF video as well. Similarly fantastic.
Yes! Casey Jane (The Lostines), Sam Doores (The Deslondes) & Gina Leslie (from Gina Leslie ... worked with Sam Doores Band, Esther Rose, Ric Robertson, and her family band, The Bad Bad Leslies). Beautiful voices together.
My favorite city, New Orleans. The poorest and richest city in America.
Haha, now review Tootle My Hukill from Morning Forty Federation.
You watched this one on a live stream a while ago

Top ten comment! Getting there
Check out Band of Heathens - Hurricane. Another New Orleans song I think you'll dig.

I though Levon helm was from Arkansas and then moved to Woodstock. He can live wherever he wants though I guess. 🤘
@@stitch1299 I might be wrong, for some reason I thought I remembered reading that he was from New Orleans.
@@stitch1299 You are correct, I just went to his wikipedia, says he was born in Arkansas, doesn't mention anything about New Orleans, I don't why I had that in my head!
I lived in Newfoundland and I'm dying to know who she ran into
Sierra Ferrell in that
I'm a new fan. Can't pay for the elite status.

American Football - Never Meant
2nd and 3rd choice would be Minus the Bear or Jon Gomm
(Math Rock) and talk about different timings
Would love to see a help/slipknot, maybe not franklins cause that’s pretty basic but always a goody
I thought her name is LEYLA McCalla.
Would love to hear you react to Lizzy McAlpine's live version of 'Never Gonna Be Alone' with John Mayer and Jacob Collier. ruclips.net/video/2ScNNmzlFmk/видео.html
How much you getting paid? Hope it’s worth it.
Having to boil tap water so it's safe to drink isn't super romantic imo!!!
I love you Mike but you really don't need to talk much in this one...! 😘✌️
Not meaning to beunkind, pretty song but I about fell asleep 30 seconds in...
dang
