    That's the way, install 1000w motor and put 250w sticker to make it "legal". 🤣

    "Proprietary screw" is a Torx security head. You can get bits to fit them or use a small straight screwdriver that fits between the center post and two of the lobes. Or grind a slot into it.

    According to the battery guru here on youtube u can use a 52v on a 48v motor

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  10 месяцев назад +1

      There were some people online saying 52v batteries could prematurely wear out a 48v controller and make sure your computer / head unit is rated for 52v. If you read battery level in percentage then the 52v battery with a 48v computer may seem more full than it really is.

    That battery design with connector inside mounting plate looks sketchy for water ingress...

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  3 месяца назад

      You're right. It comes with a battery cover. I think it might be highly recommended to use it with any chance of water (before, during or after a rain).

    brake lever or brake sensor? what to order?? I have mechanical brake sistem on my bike. PLZ HELP

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  Год назад

      You can order either. I went with sensors so I could keep my existing brake levers. If you want new brake levers then you can order the brake levers to replace yours. I made an install video so please check that out to see how the brake sensors work so you could see if you like them.

    Sir what is the recommended battery for that 1000w bafang mid drive motor?

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  Год назад +2

      The best battery for you is the one that fits your bike. I was going to buy the Luna Cycles battery but the kit and battery were out of stock so I went with the 20Ah Amazon battery. It's too early for me to recommend it yet since it's so new but it is affordable and I haven't had any problems with it so far.

      For the bafang 1000 watt mid drive I would go with the 52v but it can also do the 42v too. You can switch between the two setting on your display along with size of tires also
      The high the AH the long the rang you get out of your battery

    This or hub drive ?

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  2 месяца назад

      Great question! I chose this one as it fits on more bikes. If you switch to a boost frame or thru axle, you can take the motor with you. With a hub motor you can't easily switch. What are you leaning towards?

    description says BBSHD 1000W, sticker from box says BBS01B 250W...?????

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  Год назад

      Yes the wrong sticker must have been put in the box. It is a 1000w motor. I've been using it for months and it's powerful, definitely 1000w.

    • @JohnSmith-ch9lp
      @JohnSmith-ch9lp Год назад +7

      Hello Michael, the BBS01b 250W stickers are put in the box so you can stick them on the bike or motor and convince the police or whoever that it is a legal 250W motor which is the limit in many countries across Europe.
      Actually even on a 48v battery fully charged to 54.6v run at 25 amps gives a peak power of 1365W. It can be changed with the programming cable to run at 30 amps maximum which gives (30x54.6) 1638 watts. It is certainly a powerful motor. A 48v battery fully charged is 54.6 in case you wondered where that figure came from.

    I'm new to ebikes and have been doing a lot of shopping. I have a nice bicycle so I am considering a conversion kit. Your video was informative in adding to my research and considerations. Value wise, I'm leaning towards a whole ebike. Ariel Kepler perhaps or foldable Lectric. I'm just under 250 pounds so torque is needed. Many roads are hilly around me.

    • @pedalpowercycling
      @pedalpowercycling  Год назад

      Thanks for the kind comment. The bbshd has 160nm of torque so it's great for larger riders. It's recommended against installation on a carbon frame. I've installed it on an aluminum recumbent trike. Stay tuned for a video of the build. Cheers!
