Skyrim Battles - Karstaag vs. Giants, Forgemasters, Lurkers, and more

- One of the strongest bosses in the entire game is finally getting his own dedicated episode! It's pretty difficult finding interesting setups that I haven't done before, but I got a few down.
For the final round, I picked Miraak instead of Dukaan, because Dukaan only has frost-based spells. This replacement makes for a much more dynamic fight, plus we all love seeing Miraak in battles!
Karstaag vs. The Ebony Warrior has been done many times on RUclips, including a couple episodes by me, so I'm not repeating it for this video. However, something similar to that will be happening in 5 episodes from now, which will be a special because it'll be my 100th Skyrim Battles video. Be prepared for something big.

Wow, that last battle literally had me to the edge of my seat. I thought the dragon priests were going to be a failure but man Miraak pulled through. Had Karstaag been 10 secs quicker the dragon priest would have all died.
It was a very exciting battle indeed! Ahzidal and Miraak both had an important role because of their fire damage. I actually though Karstaag would win at the end. It was really close!
Man that last one was close! I thought they would lose since Miraak kept staggering his allies with those shouts 😅

2. The Forgemasters did suprisingly well, but their low HP kind of did them in
3. The Mages got *really* close, but once the 2 main Fire users ,the Pyromancer and Savos, went down it was GG
4. Miraak spamming those tiny Firebolts at Karstaag was weirdly adorable lol
But he really came in clutch at the end, he used his Fire Breath excellently and you can see that Karstaag was about to come out of his staggered animation when Miraak landed the killing blow, so it was still *really* close.

Yes, it was such a cool and intense fight! I'm glad I got that one recorded!
Imagine being in a group of Bandits, you try to mug some guy in ragged clothing seemingly someone who hit rock bottom and looks like a easy pick.
And then he summons a goddamn spectral ancient frost giant.
Kinda reminds me of Bruce Almighty 😆
If Miraak used shock magic, he would have lost but I think AI was smarter than I think!
He used chain lightning a few times before Zahkriisos died, but he considers Karstaag's shock resistance so he mostly used firebolt instead. Definitely a big reason why he won! 😎
Those giants really tried, after that blizzard stomp you can see everything going to shit. That was really funny XDD
1:10 tries to run out of the arena but not as gracefully as frea did in your last video
The moment he stomped was awesome! 😂 And yup, several giants tried to escape, but there was no way out 😆
You can litterally see the human characters backs break. Savos is going to need a neck brace after that fight.
Yes, the power attacks do break them like twigs. 😂

I was hoping you’d make a viddy where you showcase Karstaag fighting against various strong opponents! Patpaul did a battle between Karstaag and 20 giants with the former coming out on top. I questioned this result for the longest time but seeing your vid now convinces me that Patpaul’s battle was legit.
This viddy really cemented my idea that the Forgemaster is a glass canon. They dealt an enormous amount of damage to Karstaag in a short time span but went down just as quickly.
Also, Gathric is a f giant!
the centurions and forgemaster have ZERO physical resistance despite being literally made out of metal.

I had been wanting to make a Karstaag video for a while, and it finally happened! Yes, I can totally see Karstaag beat 20 giants on higher difficulties. Most of my battles are on adept, and on legendary (which is Pat's default), Karstaag's regeneration makes him even more overpowered.
You're right about the Forgemaster! His damage is very high, but 1399 HP at best with no armor rating is not enough. Also, Karstaag is weak to fire while the Forgemaster is weak to frost, so they both did increased damage against each other.
Gathrik is interesting because he's 25% taller than other draugr. I need to make a dedicated video to him sometime!
@@lSlendermaster I didnt know abt gathrik, let alone his size. I wonder if that makes him faster at chasing down ranged opponents

Dukaan can’t do anything because karstaag has frost immunity

So here Karstaag pulverized several groups, and for the last fight, Miraak finally managed to stop Karstaag's winning streak, and a narrow victory, excellent battle ^^

In 1v1 with Karstaag, the chances are very low, but with several people, the chances can change ^^

The last three fights could vary a lot in terms of outcome. The Ebony Warrior fought once against Dukaan, Zahkriisos and Ahzidal at the same time and lost. It would make a lot of sense if Karstaag would lose against the equivalant of the three Dragon Priests as well. We saw Miraak deal the finishing blow who could match the power of one of the DLC Dragon Priests.
The four magicians with Arch-Curate Vyrthur could win a battle against Karstaag as well but it could vary just like it did against the Ebony Warrior.
Maybe the Lurker Vindicators could have won their battle depending on how much stun locking they could apply to Karstaag.
Karstaag has a much easier time against the Priests because he has 100% frost resistance and 75% shock resistance, so only Ahzidal could get him down at all. Karstaag is a lot less balanced when it comes to specific resistances, often doing much better or much worse than the Ebony Warrior in a direct comparison. 😄
I think Vythur would mostly serve as a damage sponge because Karstaag is highly resistant to almost all of his spells. It would definitely help if he could tank though, and you're right, it would vary a lot. 🤔
I thought so too at first, but the Lurkers ran out of stamina eventually, so at some point, it was just over for them.
I had put Karstaag without all of his spells against two Vindicators in one of my earliest battle videos, and he barely killed them, so I was surprised to see him dominate like that now 😎
If you haven't done already, you could do one with all the soul cairn keepers and the reaper, too 😮

Karstaag vs. all Dragon Priests is rather boring because he has frost immunity and 75% shock resistance, so only the fire Priests would be useful. I have done Karstaag vs. Krosis and Ahzidal a long time ago though:

Yeah that's what happens when you don't use dual enchanted legendary forks and daedric armor to kill him
zahkriisos did the most part on the last one if he hasn't been focused by karstaag it would have ended way sooner that dragon priest is a beast when he can cast his spells
Considering Karstaag has 75% shock resistance, Zahkriisos did hardly anything other than distracting Karstaag 😅

I wanna see that one naked mage in the Solitude sewers square off against Karstaag or the Ebony Warrior. That guy was an absolute bitch to kill, even as a vampire lord spamming drain life and reverting form in a hidden corner to chug healing potions. Ouch.
Yeah, Thoron would be really cool for battles! I couldn't use him so far because updating to AE would break my game. I've been trying to figure something out, but no promise. 😅

Do you take suggestions? Ive always wanted to see the strength of the Ancient Frost Atronach vs all Vanilla conjures. 1v1 adapt difficulty, feel like legendary would take a while.
I do take requests, yes! I mostly do the fights that I'm personally interested in as well though. 😅
The Ancient Frost Atronach is surprisingly weak. Even at his maximum level, he's not very good, and I found him rather boring to be honest.
I have used him only once so far, and I'm not sure if I'll dedicate an episode to him. Probably not against all the summons. I do wonder how strong he is against a normal Frost Atronach, but it would be inconsistent because of stagger from both sides, and it wouldn't be enough for an episode either. 😅
@@lSlendermaster I have the Mod conjure Ancient Frost Atronach, it uses the highest level one, and it can go toe to Toe with a normal Giant, it's 50/50, sometimes the Ancient Frost wins, sometimes the Giant wins, which is why I bring this to you, you can set these fights up pretty well.
@@Voided77 Ahh, I didn't know there was a mod like that. 😄I wonder if it's the normal version of the atronach, because almost all vanilla conjurable creatures have different properties compared to the originals. 🤔
I think you're the second person requesting a video about the Ancient Frost Atronach, so maybe I should try that. I feel like it's not going to be very exciting though. I can always do a round or two with just a plain fight and no editing, but an actual episode requires many hours, so I'm not sure if it's worth it 😅
@lSlendermaster oh no it's the Actual Ancient Frost, the Ancient Frost is, I believe you know, white ice instead of blue like the normal, both of its melee arms are bigger as well, and it's bulkier, the Ancient Frost has I believe, 50% more health than a Giant, 20k+ in legendary mode, while the normal has 8k, novice it has 3k normal has.. 300+ so it is strong, which is why I actually Requested, since it's a unique summon, only ever encountered ONCE- I'd love to see it go against every Vanilla Conjure.
@@Voided77 An NPC can look exactly the same but still have different properites. For example, the summonable Karstaag is significantly weaker than the original one. 😄
But that aside, do you mean 20k HP? Unless you have a mod that does this, I'm afraid those numbers are a bit off. 😂 Or am I getting something wrong here?
If I do make an episode about him, I definitely wouldn't put him against every vanilla summon, because there are way too many of them. Even if we don't include the special ones from shouts or powers, that would be over 10 rounds, all of which would be slow and repetitive even on adept difficulty. I wouldn't enjoy making that at all, sorry 😅

He has a default cooldown of 5 seconds with his elemental shouts. That's vanilla 😄
