In the beginning I didn't have switch online and played only the "story mode", which in itself has a bunch of great levels (different difficulties as well). For that alone I already thought it was pretty fun. When I got the online mode it opened a lot more possibilities with so many different levels to enjoy (I like the filters to choose which "mario era" you prefer and type of levels, as well). The fact that they kept adding content to it (characters, items, worlds...) is awesome. They even added more levels to the offline mode, which is a great plus! I bought Sonic Mania a while back, mainly because I played Sonic on the Sega as a kid and wanted to experience that again. I played some levels and, while I had fun, it's just way too hard for me. Not being able to save the progress in some way... I'll never finish it lol I like my platformers to be more accessible and without so many angry inducing moments xD (I get that in Mario too, sometimes, but I just love Mario so I endure it a bit more...and you're not stuck in a single level, so you can take a breather with sth else). Celeste looks awesome, but I'm sure it would be too much for me to handle. I prefer watching someone else play. I'm currently playing FEZ and I'm loving it. I love the graphics, the music and "peaceful rhythm" that goes with it. I had played it first on the vita, but never finished it. It's a great addition to the switch, I think! (I clicked on the bell thingy a while back, so I always get notifications that way. Also, seems Bob needs to check out the Castlevania Anniversary Collection (these are all platformers and not Metroidvania games) and the sprite based Bloodstained games
Super mario maker 2 is my favourite 2d platform on switch (1600 hours ) as creator and as player. Then Mario3, mario 35, Mario bros, Mario world, lost levels, DK tropical freeze, DK country 1,2,3. I love cuphead but probably it’s not a platform but run and gun and bullet hell. I’m gonna play ori and hollow knight next months.
SK Treasure Trove is probably my favorite platformer in life. I just enjoy it so much, it just makes me happy even just by looking at it. Idk what did that game have, it is so so great, I love it
While I can see why the second campaign on Shovel Knight (Plague Knight) can be seen just as an "alternate character", the third and fourth characters are entirely new games. They have different levels (even if the level themes are the same), and all characters play entirely different from each other. I would definitely recommend *against* picking up Shovel of Hope by itself, the Treasure Trove is way, way more bang for your buck and you may not enjoy one of the campaigns but completely fall in love with another (for example, I don't like Plague Knight's campaign all that much but Specter Knight's campaign is one of my favorite game ever (ironically I can claim this exactly because the games are sold separately :P ). Not only that but the Treasure Trove also comes with a fun Smash Bros-like gamemode that adds some extra value to it.
I would say the only platformer I might add to the list would be Cave Story! There's like 2 or 3 flavors of it out there, but the core game incorporates platforming a lot I would say
If you're a fan of the Mega Man Zero series, another game I'd recommend checking out is Dragon Marked for Death. It's made by the same studio, Inti Creates. It has 6 different characters to play as and features both local and online multiplayer, though the matchmaking is basically dead, so you'll need to either play with friends or coordinate something with users on the official Discord server which is actually bustling with activity and full of people who are willing to help. It is rather expensive at full price, so I'd wait and get it on sale.

Tropical Freeze is amazing dude, come on! Either way, awesome list. My friend who loves sonic played it on my genesis collection on switch and told me he felt a delay. Anyone else find a delay in that collection? I bought it for Phantasy Star games, but Sonic was a nice bonus.
Yes it's a known thing that the entire Genesis collection has pretty bad input delay. He really should've mentioned that.
Finally, someone else has actually played the Messenger. I got this game from a big sale, so I played without knowing the twist beforehand and it was amazing. Also, Celeste should be #1
Just went ahead and bought sonic mania thanks to you! It’ll be here Saturday!!!
your new videos are on my home page everytime u upload one so im goood :)
OMG that noise when you were rubbing the lotion on your hands, I can only describe it as moist(shutters.)
There are literally only 2 RUclipsr's I watch that make their sponsored ads worth watching: Ryan George, and you sir XD
Hey just a heads up, you missed the timeline title for Shovel Knight
I had to stop myself from spitting out my drink at the "gun to my head" part
Idk what did that game have, it is so so great, I love it
I will always show up for your sponsor clips. Love your work, but I swear your sponsor clips are always better than anyone else's.
Not only that but the Treasure Trove also comes with a fun Smash Bros-like gamemode that adds some extra value to it.
real tough look not mentioning the original DKC trilogy.
I would say the only platformer I might add to the list would be Cave Story! There's like 2 or 3 flavors of it out there, but the core game incorporates platforming a lot I would say
I bought the mega mans on PS, buuuuuut I wanna get it on switch now, love your videos dude, I’m subscribed now :)
Another really great platformer on the switch is called Levelhead, it might be worth checking out! It's a really fun time!
Yeah it’s pretty much Mario maker but imo not quite as fun or magical feeling
If you're a fan of the Mega Man Zero series, another game I'd recommend checking out is Dragon Marked for Death. It's made by the same studio, Inti Creates. It has 6 different characters to play as and features both local and online multiplayer, though the matchmaking is basically dead, so you'll need to either play with friends or coordinate something with users on the official Discord server which is actually bustling with activity and full of people who are willing to help. It is rather expensive at full price, so I'd wait and get it on sale.
