    I’m very grateful for this video! I was so intimidated about the swatch. I’d give it a try now.

    Hi Zanete, this is a very very great and helpful video for guys like me just started with colorwork. A few weeks ago I started with colorwork while testknitting a pair of Christmas socks and I explored the fun which colorwork can be. So I'm planning to knit my first color sweater as soon as I'm ready with my currently testknits and my own choosed pattern for a Christmas Sweater. I guess in the first days of the new year I'll be ready to start and am happy and thankful to have these video to help me along. So many thanks for your work!! 🥳🥳♥️

    Fantastic video! So useful tips and tricks...the fake stitch/seam for the body and sleeves is something I will put into practice with the sweater I'm knitting right now. Thank you for taking the time to produce video like this. It's a very long process (filming, editing...). It is very much appreciated! Happy new year and I wish you health, love and success! You included a lot of useful information in one video. I have a colorwork sweater I plan to make. So far, I have only done colorwork hats and small items and had to change to a larger needle size to keep the colorwork tension good. I think maybe I should do one more hat to try to learn better technique before starting the sweater.

    Around minute 1:01:45, I see you used the long tail cast on to join the underarm at the sleeve but what I missed seeing is how do you join in the round having used the contrast yarn as your thumb yarn and the main color yarn over your index finger. What is your tip for joining in this case given that you have been working in 2 colors for the underarm stitches?

    • @zaneteknits
      @zaneteknits  Месяц назад +1

      Hi! that's an interesting question, and I'm not sure if I even understood it, but hopefully this helps. I don’t do anything too fancy-I just start working with the colour I need based on the chart and switch to the other colour when the chart says to. If there’s a long float between where the underarm cast-on ends and the next colour needs to start, I’ll trap it by twisting (if that makes sense). In other words, I treat the last underarm cast-on stitch as a stranded colourwork stitch that's worked with both colours.

      @@zaneteknits That is exactly what I was thinking was needed (treating the last underarm cast-on stitch as a stranded colorwork stitch that is worked with both colors) so that both colors are available upon joining in the round at the underarms. Wonder if this could be demoed in a video shorts?

    Around minute 29:55, did you slip the first stitch of your 3 purled border stitches?

    • @zaneteknits
      @zaneteknits  Месяц назад +1

      Hi, yes, I did, it's a habit of mine, when working on flat swatches to always slip the first stitch to create a neater edge.

    I'm a beginner learning work work
    I've found that I am very conscious of knitting looser when doing stranded colour work, as I'm a tighter knitter in general. But I have found that my colour work is still tighter than plain one colour knitting. What worries me is if I did a colour work yoke that has plain knitting rows in between, it will pull tighter. Would it be better to change needle sizes? I have just finished an all over colour work sweater and it's come out lovely.

      @zaneteknits  9 дней назад

      Yes, you can always try with changing needles and see how that works for you :)
