Please please do more of these videos, they’re so rare...everyone else does the obvious stuff like 80s and synthwave.....whereas this experimental side of Rev2 is very much untapped
I've had the prophet 6 for a while now but the Rev2 audio mod has an extended range that helps it do some really nice pseudo digital sounds. Minilogues are rad! I need to try the XD sometime.
Thanks man! That sounds cool. Feel free to post some examples! Quick tip for you because once you start getting the Mod Wheel Craze, you'll want to attach it to everything :D Problem - When you hold source and move the modhweel it assigns it. For some reason you can't seem to do it twice in a row though. Solution - While holding source, move the pitch bend wheel instead (don't let go of source) and then now move the Mod wheel and you should be fine! You can now apply mod wheel as a source to many different things at once at rapid fire rates! This same idea also applies for any modulator type. If you want to assign multiple things to Envelope 3 in a row, just twist a knob from a different envelope while holding source, then go back to envelope 3 and it should work.
Thanks for this workaround tip. Seems to be a common bug in Sequential synths that you can‘t assign the same knob/wheel twice in a row; same on the PX.
This is so cool. I'm looking for videos like this. You play with the knobs as a prestidigitator, I've watched at it 4 times, haha. For the moment, I hesitate between to order a Peak Novation or a Prophet rev 2... I feel that the rev 2 is more powerful, sounds more analog and is more convenient to manipulate. But I love the 3 oscillators from the Peak and its effects.
Nice sounds!! I'm evaluating this synth among all others for sound design creation. Will you do a specific video about this? How about the internal effects? You used external ones, I guess for a good reason, but can you show the internal effects potential?
Hey bud. Sadly I had to sell my Rev2 to fund a semester of classes. I dug up some clips from my time with it you might be interested in. These are some weird sound designy/sfx kind of stuff that specifically uses (abuses) the digital delay on-board. There is a "Karplus Strong" example too that would have been the subject of my next video. Lots of fun to be had with the built in FX! I used the reverb and delay often. Scope my video on the "Built in Looper" as it makes extensive use of the delay. As for the phasers/flangers and other FX... I ended up staying away from those simply because I'm not a fan of those kinds of effects in general. drive.google.com/open?id=1Ub8UWAYzazOdQ0VyUQq6UQJZNbd7TYYH - A few sound clips from my Rev2. Miss the hell out of that thing!
@@philmakesnoise wow the Traxus patch is very deep!! I'm pretty sure you have other synths, so since your video concept definitely is one of the best around... you could do other chapters on your channel! I hope to watch more from you. Cheers!!
M. G. Krøger I “Replaced” the rev2 with an old ESQ-1 that’s currently my only synth. Fun synth that sounds a little more raw the the Rev2 but I miss all of those knobs!
@@philmakesnoise Very sad to hear that, mate! I was really hoping for another video, I recently receive mine's and i learned a whole lot from you. Any other resource apart from the Traxxus one's?

Yes please and I would buy a preset pack too
Thanks for sharing the Rev2 analogues true character < - > Excellent tweaks, hands down 🤖
Damn…. Time to power up the rev 2 again!! Your sonic capabilities and sensibilities are very inspiring!
this is probably the most interesting and cool sounding Prophet Rev2 video on RUclips
I was so deep into my Minilogues cross mod that I entirely forgot about the audio mod on my rev2. Thanks man!

This video convinced me to buy a Rev2
Best video on RUclips for this synth
ugh this is so cool
More Rev2 videos please, this is one of the most interesting I've seen. It's so powerful, nice to see people being creative with it's possibilities!
This synth really has it all wow
Great tutorial. I also added mod wheel --> osc2shape&cutoff. schvitzin!
Thanks man! That sounds cool. Feel free to post some examples!

Awesome demo, dude! So many interesting sounds and textures in five minutes.
Creative Spiral thanks man! Love the work you're doing emulating VCO behavior on the Rev2!
Whoa that's nuts! I'd totally dismissed audio mod without understanding it
Next level stuff! I'm going right back home to the Rev2 to now to celebrate the weekend, Rev2 and your videos! Thanks, my friend :-)
Amazing! I bought the codeknobs editor because of your other video and saved and automated some parameters of this awesome ideas in ableton!
Oof this is some smart stuff! Thank for the vid!!!
Jeeez, it’s crazy those knob caps make it feel like an entirely different instrument.
Holy shit. Subbed. Totally excited to hear more from you in the Future :)
this is stunning, you made me fall back in love with my rev2

Wow! And I thought I knew my Rev2 ... 🥴
Cool white knobs and decal as well.
Never heard this on the rev2, definitely going to try this. Great programming!
SynthPimp thanks pimp!
Great patch! Thank you. 😀
sure did. cool
No dislikes is what this video deserves. Good job everyone.
This isn’t sarcasm. The video genuinely showed off the sounds really well.
I got this synth sounding almost exactly like a jupiter 8 but i had no idea this was even a feature.
Oh my Lord
We’re the knobs easily replaceable? Where’d you get those from? Cool sounds btw.
You're a fckin sound design genius!!!
Fantastic tutorial. Can’t wait for mine to arrive. Instant subscription from me!
Thank you ! That was great !
Great video man. Helped me a lot
you're a wizard :)
Have a rev2 and definitely going to try this. Is this possible on the prophet x? No AM knob but maybe with the mod matrix?
Nice knobs matey.
Rad!
Thanks!
this is great, definitely gonna try this out!
Thanks bud! That's what I'm hoping to do the most with these.
Show some cool areas of experimentation for others to do neat things with.
Can you tell something about the knobs!? and way the layout like this.
What were you eluding to about going into audio rates?
why r ur buttons different than on most REVs?
I added custom knobs :)
@@philmakesnoise where did you get them? I love my rev2 but the knobs are not great!
@@philmakesnoise what kind of knobs are they? Is it easy to replace them?

Also for sound design search for the "Prophet 8 Organism" videos by Traxxus. Very cool stuff that sold me on the Rev2 in the first place.

Isn‘t OSC1 the modulator and OSC2 the carrier?
On the REV2 OSC 1 can only modify the filter freq.
It’s not called audio mod, because this term makes no sense. It’s called Filter-FM.
