E36 is a really good and fun chassie
18is is holds boost pretty good for 300 hp, but if you want more power i would go for a m50b25nv holds 450-500 hp stock block
@@Antonnio22An absolutely stock M42 "is" engine can hold over 400 on the wheels easily. It's proven a lot of times. The stock pistons hold around 600 hp on the engine.

Budget around 7k USD. Should give you wiggle room for setup changes and broken parts. Also fab work costs money. Iam pushing 10PSI boost on pump and its loving life. Bone stock long block
