I legitimately didn't realize I missed the temporal for the first 500-ish hours. I had blazed through Low/High Rank with the promise of Layered Armor from my friend. Then found out it was "after the story of Iceborne." So I blazed through most of Iceborne as well until I started doing the mantle quests & realized I didn't have them all. Whoops, lol.
FYI 1: You may need to beat phase 1 to have the armor unlocked. FYI 2: The weapon may actually unlock if you break the head and get a horn, not sure but might be the case. -> I got an eye through plunder cat but no weapon unlock. Might be the horn item. The main focus now is for someone to find a method to farm the horns/eyes. I am sure someone will find it out ^^ Even if we do, DO NOT let that be an excuse not to work hard to take down the monster, I am certainly not going to rob myself of that satisfaction!
I found that you need one of all the items he drops but the evil eye to look at the armor or you need the cortex as i have gotten all but the cortex and still cant see the armor
you can smash his wings an even lazier way with less gear - ghillie mantle up, use heavy artillery maxed, go down, fill the cannons and aim them, make sure one of the trays is emptied out, blast him with the right cannon then the left one, slap him around when he falls over if you wanna, farcaster out to the ledge base, get out BINOCULARS - finally a use for them! and stare at the empty cannonball tray while you watch a youtube video, when they've respawned, ghillie back up and repeat the cannon attack, at least one wing should shatter and you did it all with 0 risk of screwing up, getting torched, or needing to do anything fiddly. Does it take more time? Yes. Is it basically dingusproof? also yes.
Bro I did what you said instead of the video lmao and it worked, broke both his wings and got 2 fellwings in less than 10 mins multiple times. Also a little improvise, after I ran out of ghillie and temporal I used the cannons with bomberdier maxed which helped me secure the other wing.
2:20 The fact that Partbreaker with 3 levels is above all the other skills in the list shows that you have actually more the 3 points equipped to that skill. At least 5 as it seems
That's why i change his set a bit. Not really necessery, but you will need less juwels. I changed the rarhalos armor to beta and changed the legs to Kirin beta. You have more slots and need less decorations.
I also managed to get an easy fellwing by using the cannons with Heavy Artillery level 2. Head in with the ghillie mantle, turn the rightmost cannon to the right once. Then turn the leftmost cannon to the right four times. Fire the right cannon, wait for Fatalis to charge, then run over to the left cannon and open fire. Managed to get over 4K damage and broke one of his wings. Also, you’ll get a free knockdown, which you can use to go to town on the head
found my horn cheese: Deets: Safi blast SA with max attack Temporal and ghillie mantles Heavy artillery Tool skill that recharges mantles faster Anything that boosts your axe, focus, power prolonged, attack boost, etc Strat: Ghillie down and cannon him, when he drops be ready and charge up your axe, mount, and tenderize head as he stands, throw on Temporal and keep clawing back onto face and discharge. Note that the safest place to wait for an opening is midrange to his side, if temp runs out but you still have power, you can keep going if careful. Wall bang when you can if on all 4s and head is tender. Then farcaster back to camp. This is the important part: just wait for mantles to charge, you're not trying to win, just break horn, so wait. Ghillie back in, use siege weapons, charge up blade carefully on his legs, the Temporal back to face discharging. Farcaster, basically repeat until break.
You can make the weapons without beating Fatalis, I can, you need it’s eye, Palico happened to snatch it up when I was throwing myself at it to get parts
your overthinking it: use Ghille mantle, Heavy Artillery skill, Bombardier and Part Breaker. start the fatalis fight, toss on the ghille mantle and head down, go to the cannons to the back of the arena and load them fully with shots, have the right cannon aimed right at fatalis and te other aimed towards the area right infront of the other cannon, place some barrel bombs on the lower ground infront of the cannon aimed at fatalis so when he charges he rams into them. head back up and shoot the cannon aimed at fatalis then head to the other cannon as soon as he starts his charge, wait for him to fully turn to face you so his wings are in the line of shot of the cannon and fire before he blasts you. this alone should be enough for a wing break, return from quest and you with have a wing part, repeat 4 times and between that and the easily to obtain parts you can craft the legs and waist of the fatalis armor. this can also be a good way to start the fight solo as it deals a about 5,100 damage before the fight even begins, if you hesitate to ensure the second cannon hits the wings to ensure they break you may get carted once which is not a big deal when farming and returning but a bad way to start the hunt.

I get you, but I still think that he is a bit out of place in what I would otherwise consider the easiest and most beginner friendly Monster Hunter. And why they reduced the number of tries from 5 to 3 for the Event Quest is beyond me, even if I keep up my record of 0 deaths in every run we won I still have 3 teammates that I cannot account for xD

Ironically, in nearly every (unsuccessful, which is every single one) hunt I’d been in, the wings are what I get an abundance of. Petrus and shards are sometimes a part of the mix, and cortex and horns are once in a blue moon.
i've found another way maybe more easy, isn't 100% but is a good start to hunting him any way since it will make him fall and does a ton of damage. use the heavy artillery skill lv.2, ghillie up and fill up the cannons on the bottom left and angle the left one towards fatalis's head when it turns left( two pushes to the right) and the right one push twice to the left and fire with a temporal mantle on since he'll be right in-front of you after roaring and doing that weird run-crawl charge attack thing. P.S: this is a really good fight I just really wish this was a 50 min hunt, I've spent all my afternoons on this bastard.
Hey, I found a way to level up quickly in the rotten vale area. It's works like a Barroth Wash. But u use Radobaan and peel off the Bone parts. I recommend spread or sticky for this. Thanks for all your great videos, i think this one will help me a lot.
If anyone looking for a way to cheese the head, Im pretty sure can use angbata's guide for fatalis. He got a guide to wallbang it multiple times. Just need to adjust a bit
Hey Gaijin, you can do the same strat for the horn break as well. sleep, bomb, and when it gets up wall bang. with 5-6 bangs you will have the head break. it does its nova at 4 bangs so you can also use the balista to finish the job. personally i use sticky, script the head and first nova, then just sticky the wings till break. it takes a little bit longer but its more uptime for your cat and you get the horns as well. just as a PSA: 2nd head break is 100% an evil eye, so you don't even need to beat fatalis to get the full set.
You say you can't make the weapons unless you beat it. That is false, I made the weapon from just partbreaks and plunderblade before beating it. I only got enough to upgrade and thus make it usable on my first kill finally. But I already had the weapon by then. Not sure what the unlock is, might be the eye. Double headbreak with partbreaker 3 is doable so give that a shot if you really want the weapon but just can't get the fucker down. It does require nearly beating it. I usually got the second headbreak early phase 3, though I've done it in phase 2 before. 10 hours of practice to beat it sounds about right. That's about what it took me and my GF to do it.
Seems to have been fixed in the recent Halloween patch. Despite being able to do it no problem a few days ago, I'm no longer capable of breaking the wing with the same method. Didn't want to farm a whole Fatalis just for my kitty, F.
Kek Lard I was getting graped many times but with some randoms in a fatalis lobby we gave it 5 shots and then we managed to win on last one tho it took more than 15 attempts to find good random team
As a tip for you, in case you do decide to keep belting out attempts prior to PS5 - Heavy Artillery 2 + Ghillie Mantle over the course of your attempt will wipe out 30-35% of his HP and those are 2 super easy to slot in tools/decos. Tbh the rest of the fight is attack belly>to bait a close range attack and either attack behind him to bait a tail swipe and avoid his breath, or attack his head if he melees/collapses and staying close is VERY safe compared to keeping your distance. The sides of his legs are like the secret safe zone of the whole fight.
You can do the exact same thing without using any items by using ghillie and going to the cannons and positioning the rightmost one 3 pushes to the right the the leftmost one one push to the right with heavy artillery lv2, guaranteed wing break and double plunder steal without any item usage.
Some other Fatalis tips. Have a set with Ghillie mantle and Heavy Artillery maxed out, fill the cannons and fire both into Fatalis, combo the head when it's down. Then switch to your set for the fight. ZSD spam cheeses him efficiently, with rocksteady and temporal it's especially safe. Outside of mantles, you can clutch the head during any of the flamethrower breaths, but not the fireballs. Keep the head and chest tenderised and you'll do plenty of damage. The ZSD finisher does good part damage, the ticks are quite small, but partbreaker is still good with it. Even without partbreaker I got one horn break before 3rd phase, so without partbreaker you're probably not getting the Evil Eye drop (guaranteed for breaking head, which is 13k damage or something like that) but you need plenty of other mats too. With the ballistae only shoot the chest or the head, save one binder for 3rd phase in case you don't get the first horn break before that,
You save the materials by simply using ghillie mantle, loading up cannons and fire them at fatalis' wings. With heavy artillery (not on the ghille mantle as it doesnt work once you fire the cannons), you can break the wings with a topple. Use the topple to bomb the other wing and then sleep fatalis. Now you can bomb it again for the other wing break. You can also then chain into a wall bang on wake, and then start the fight proper from there with about 10k worth of damage done to fatalis.
I think this strat could possibly be expanded for breaking the head. Paralysis and sleep but aim for the head instead of the wing. Then after that initial salvo, possibly take a Farcaster to the base and switch to HBG stickies with partbreaker and aim for the head? This is all just speculation. I haven't tested it myself, and I'm not sure just how much damage the head needs to take before it breaks, but it's just an idea I had after watching this vid.
I think you can get the weapon without killing. I have made the 1st level of the longsword after I played the Special Assignment with randoms and we managed to break both horns and get an evil eye but still failed due to time limit. However, I can't upgrade it since I need another evil eye. My game is vanilla, no mods or anything third party.
I wonder if you can do this with head. Ghillie, get cannons ready, hit it, knock it down, maybe using slinger secret to get 2 hits on the head, then do your paralyze/sleep combo

Some tips for the fatty. He can only be wall bonked when laying down. Guile mantle before entering the arena so you can pre load all the cannons. Use dust of life if an ally gets caught in the sweeping breaths. Dragon pods are pretty good at staggering him. Aim for his head when he lays down to do the big fire breath for some free horn breaks.
Just got my first kill on fatalis now it's on to farming the event quest to get the 4 other pieces of his armor! Man that fight was absolutely worth it shouldn't take long now to get the rest of the armor pieces the next few days! Fuck yeah that feels good to have finally gotten n through
yeah but the wing is arguably the easiest thing to break just using the artillery during a normal fight and not landing chest shots. its the double head break that is gettin people for the evil eye. my group managed to complete the special assignment with the double head break and we got us a evil eye per person, and two others carved em as well.
Do this same thing, except to his head, then farcaster back to camp, swap to something with ghillie mantle and heavy artillery. Put on mantle and fly back in, load cannons and blast him, smack head while he's down, ballista head, wall bang until phase 2, then auto ballista, tethers, and wall bangs. Somewhere in there the horn will break, havent tested exactly where yet, but should be fairly doable cheese
Took me 5 hours for the first kill, another 5 for the second (the event is harder due to less carts) and after crafting a weapon and most of his armor killed him twice in a row. Man, is it tough as nails, but feels fair and rewarding. Best sendoff possible for Iceborne.
From some testing it seems like this doesn't work on the Event question version, Fade to Black. Feels like I made a mistake soloing the Special Assignment before farming everyting. ._.
I tend to break the wings without noticing, I mostly attack the chest with my longsword while my bowgun buddy tries to get shots on the face and we use the cannons and roaming ballista with heavy artillery to get some bonus damage
This thing is downright TERRIFYING and I love it. Me and my friends were trying to hunt it all evening yesterday, and we managed to get to phase 3 on all but 1 of the runs we did, but once we got to that part, it all immediately went downhill from there. Does anyone got any tips for that last phase?
You should be getting to P3 with little or no deaths, as it's likely to kill someone during it. Save both ballista binders for P3. Dragon pods flinch fatty every 2nd shot. You must attack his head regularly enough to have it broken by, or very early into P3. There's other vids here on YT that go into good detail about how to handle each phase. Good luck!

Been doing Fatalis pretty much non-stop since it came out and have 2 kills so far. There are a few outright annoying attacks (wiggling across the entire arena back and forth) but I like it.
Yep. Slap partbreaker and tool specialist on a damage set, bring temporal and rocksteady, and clutch claw spam the shit out of those horns. Almost killed him twice with this strat, got him to about 10% health, but I died, I didnt time out. His head is actually very safe to claw onto, only his physical attacks and 2 fire attacks that hit you, the rest dont
Sadly i had to drop the game, just didnt have the time to grind for 4 years straight. To many to small updates with mechanics counter to what MH used to be for me. Alatreon, although a lot of fun broke me. Instead of spending 100+ hours just to optimize, i rather enjoy more smaller titles. Not enough time in life to grind in to many games. MH got to MMO-y for me. Still happy to see so many people enjoying Fatalis. It's a nice addition to celebrate the last update (probably?).
I felt the same way. The latest end-game fights feel scripted in that there is a 'process' to beating the monster that extends beyond knowing your weapon's mechanics. Often, these strategies require certain sets or skills (or even a team of hunters) that honestly isn't attainable through casual play.
I don't really consider this a "cheese", necessarily. It's legitimate methods to break parts, and just returning to not waste any time. Never really been a fan of people calling anything easier than wasting time trying to get parts killing it as "cheese", but y'know, each their own. On topic, though, really useful tip as someone who doesn't actually really like the fight all that much. I'm all for a challenge, this just isn't the kind I can have fun with, so this is exceedingly useful.
I beat the fight after suffering for hours and yeah this is challenging but not in a fun way. Unlike Alatreons almost consistent hitboxes, Fatalis's hitboxes are just pretty bad in general just like back in the day.
@@dappercrow8138 Yeah, I felt like a lot of Alatreon's attacks had pretty tight hitboxes, and AoEs had noticeable regions you could see would hit you(Also, with augmented gear and basic elemental defenses, almost nothing should be one-shotting you). With fatalis, however, you can basically get OHKO'd by the smallest little ember of flame from the very edge of a giant inferno, which after a while just gets fucking boring. Unlike some people out there, I don't really find OHKO's, especially ones from spammed attacks with questionable hitboxes, to be all that fair or fun. And at the end of the day, the point of gaming is mostly to have fun, right? Great for anyone who does somehow enjoy this fight, I just can't for the life of me find a way to. I enjoy hard fights when there's a point where you can consistently take it down, not when every single fight is a struggle. That's not fun to me, that's padding and tedium. But, y'know, again, perspective takes hold and a lot of times, if someone enjoys it, they'll refuse to acknowledge that it might suck for others. It is what it is, and so that's why I'll just settle for getting parts I need through other methods, because those are actually consistent. Frankly, I have better things to do than waste it on a fight I don't enjoy just to get some digital goodies that mean nothing outside of this game.

Um, I can build the first tier Fatalis weapons, but not the armor, and haven't killed him yet. I've gotten the second head break with CritDraw Greatsword. Think I'm getting close to my first kill.
Except it will be a High Rank Crimson if it were the case. Wait for Rise G-Rank Expansion and things will go hectic. Then there's White Fatalis.... who travels into a different dimension to summon RNG Lightning...
Something about this isn’t working for me. I’ve tried like 8 times today and only gotten the wing once. The parts just not breaking. I have every piece of armor and every skill (only Lv2 in Free Elemental/Ammo Up though)
It’s likely the final bomb placement if it’s too close to the wycern fire it’ll give the bonus to the wrong damage and if it’s too far away it won’t ignite them. If you do mess up the placement run over to the cannons and you can use those to finish off the wing
actually you can make the base weps my cat looted an evil eye and even though i haven killed him yet i can make the fatalis base weps but my situation is probably really rare tbh

Weapons unlock if you get an Eye, the Eye can be plundered, but at an extremely low chance.
Palico CAN plunder Evil Eyes (the gem equivalent) but its quite rare. It did allow me to make the helmet though.

Hey, I found a way to level up quickly in the rotten vale area. It's works like a Barroth Wash. But u use Radobaan and peel off the Bone parts. I recommend spread or sticky for this.

If anyone looking for a way to cheese the head, Im pretty sure can use angbata's guide for fatalis. He got a guide to wallbang it multiple times. Just need to adjust a bit

Hey Gaijin, you can do the same strat for the horn break as well. sleep, bomb, and when it gets up wall bang. with 5-6 bangs you will have the head break. it does its nova at 4 bangs so you can also use the balista to finish the job. personally i use sticky, script the head and first nova, then just sticky the wings till break. it takes a little bit longer but its more uptime for your cat and you get the horns as well.
just as a PSA: 2nd head break is 100% an evil eye, so you don't even need to beat fatalis to get the full set.
You say you can't make the weapons unless you beat it. That is false, I made the weapon from just partbreaks and plunderblade before beating it. I only got enough to upgrade and thus make it usable on my first kill finally. But I already had the weapon by then. Not sure what the unlock is, might be the eye. Double headbreak with partbreaker 3 is doable so give that a shot if you really want the weapon but just can't get the fucker down. It does require nearly beating it. I usually got the second headbreak early phase 3, though I've done it in phase 2 before.
10 hours of practice to beat it sounds about right. That's about what it took me and my GF to do it.

Seems to have been fixed in the recent Halloween patch. Despite being able to do it no problem a few days ago, I'm no longer capable of breaking the wing with the same method. Didn't want to farm a whole Fatalis just for my kitty, F.

@@keklard6676 multi is harder, you need coordination with the team, in solo most of the times I reach phase 3.
Kek Lard I was getting graped many times but with some randoms in a fatalis lobby we gave it 5 shots and then we managed to win on last one tho it took more than 15 attempts to find good random team
As a tip for you, in case you do decide to keep belting out attempts prior to PS5 - Heavy Artillery 2 + Ghillie Mantle over the course of your attempt will wipe out 30-35% of his HP and those are 2 super easy to slot in tools/decos. Tbh the rest of the fight is attack belly>to bait a close range attack and either attack behind him to bait a tail swipe and avoid his breath, or attack his head if he melees/collapses and staying close is VERY safe compared to keeping your distance. The sides of his legs are like the secret safe zone of the whole fight.
You can also do the ghile mantle trick I broke both wings using the cannons
You can do the exact same thing without using any items by using ghillie and going to the cannons and positioning the rightmost one 3 pushes to the right the the leftmost one one push to the right with heavy artillery lv2, guaranteed wing break and double plunder steal without any item usage.

Apparently a constant SwitchAxe ZSD on Fatty's head is a cheese fight.
Some other Fatalis tips. Have a set with Ghillie mantle and Heavy Artillery maxed out, fill the cannons and fire both into Fatalis, combo the head when it's down. Then switch to your set for the fight. ZSD spam cheeses him efficiently, with rocksteady and temporal it's especially safe. Outside of mantles, you can clutch the head during any of the flamethrower breaths, but not the fireballs. Keep the head and chest tenderised and you'll do plenty of damage. The ZSD finisher does good part damage, the ticks are quite small, but partbreaker is still good with it. Even without partbreaker I got one horn break before 3rd phase, so without partbreaker you're probably not getting the Evil Eye drop (guaranteed for breaking head, which is 13k damage or something like that) but you need plenty of other mats too. With the ballistae only shoot the chest or the head, save one binder for 3rd phase in case you don't get the first horn break before that,
Also it does its novas at 75%, 50%, 40%, 20%, and 5% health, so they give you an indicator of how well you're doing.
You can also use the roaming to break the wings in one go.
You can make the weapons once you get the eye to drop
You save the materials by simply using ghillie mantle, loading up cannons and fire them at fatalis' wings. With heavy artillery (not on the ghille mantle as it doesnt work once you fire the cannons), you can break the wings with a topple. Use the topple to bomb the other wing and then sleep fatalis. Now you can bomb it again for the other wing break. You can also then chain into a wall bang on wake, and then start the fight proper from there with about 10k worth of damage done to fatalis.

I think this strat could possibly be expanded for breaking the head. Paralysis and sleep but aim for the head instead of the wing. Then after that initial salvo, possibly take a Farcaster to the base and switch to HBG stickies with partbreaker and aim for the head?
This is all just speculation. I haven't tested it myself, and I'm not sure just how much damage the head needs to take before it breaks, but it's just an idea I had after watching this vid.

the cat can steal the evil eye, and a partial horn break gives horn, these items give you the ability to make weapons without kill
Was something changed with fattys part hp? I tried this multiple times and his wing doesn't break

I think you can get the weapon without killing. I have made the 1st level of the longsword after I played the Special Assignment with randoms and we managed to break both horns and get an evil eye but still failed due to time limit.
However, I can't upgrade it since I need another evil eye.
My game is vanilla, no mods or anything third party.
I wonder if you can do this with head. Ghillie, get cannons ready, hit it, knock it down, maybe using slinger secret to get 2 hits on the head, then do your paralyze/sleep combo

Some tips for the fatty. He can only be wall bonked when laying down. Guile mantle before entering the arena so you can pre load all the cannons. Use dust of life if an ally gets caught in the sweeping breaths. Dragon pods are pretty good at staggering him. Aim for his head when he lays down to do the big fire breath for some free horn breaks.
You can also set bombs next to the cannons so he will put his face in them
Just got my first kill on fatalis now it's on to farming the event quest to get the 4 other pieces of his armor! Man that fight was absolutely worth it shouldn't take long now to get the rest of the armor pieces the next few days! Fuck yeah that feels good to have finally gotten n through
yeah but the wing is arguably the easiest thing to break just using the artillery during a normal fight and not landing chest shots. its the double head break that is gettin people for the evil eye. my group managed to complete the special assignment with the double head break and we got us a evil eye per person, and two others carved em as well.

Also, I saw a video where you focus on wallbangs and sleep bombs and can get a head break
Do this same thing, except to his head, then farcaster back to camp, swap to something with ghillie mantle and heavy artillery. Put on mantle and fly back in, load cannons and blast him, smack head while he's down, ballista head, wall bang until phase 2, then auto ballista, tethers, and wall bangs. Somewhere in there the horn will break, havent tested exactly where yet, but should be fairly doable cheese
Took me 5 hours for the first kill, another 5 for the second (the event is harder due to less carts) and after crafting a weapon and most of his armor killed him twice in a row. Man, is it tough as nails, but feels fair and rewarding. Best sendoff possible for Iceborne.

From some testing it seems like this doesn't work on the Event question version, Fade to Black. Feels like I made a mistake soloing the Special Assignment before farming everyting. ._.
I tend to break the wings without noticing, I mostly attack the chest with my longsword while my bowgun buddy tries to get shots on the face and we use the cannons and roaming ballista with heavy artillery to get some bonus damage
I have access to weapons and didnt kill it yet. I did break his horns fully though
Man I used to solo CRIMSON FATTY on MH4U in less than 10 minutes, I hate to say it but fatalis had brought me back to MHW after a 8 month hiatus

This thing is downright TERRIFYING and I love it. Me and my friends were trying to hunt it all evening yesterday, and we managed to get to phase 3 on all but 1 of the runs we did, but once we got to that part, it all immediately went downhill from there. Does anyone got any tips for that last phase?
You should be getting to P3 with little or no deaths, as it's likely to kill someone during it. Save both ballista binders for P3. Dragon pods flinch fatty every 2nd shot. You must attack his head regularly enough to have it broken by, or very early into P3. There's other vids here on YT that go into good detail about how to handle each phase. Good luck!

did this already get patched? i *just* did it the exact same way and ive had to farcast out, restock, reparalyse and resleep to get the break... (yes i have all the skills showed at the appropriate level, except for spare shot as it is completely optional)

I have the fatalis eye and i still can't make either the armor or it's weapons... I haven't beaten it yet.
Been doing Fatalis pretty much non-stop since it came out and have 2 kills so far. There are a few outright annoying attacks (wiggling across the entire arena back and forth) but I like it.
If you dont beat Fatalis you can make ...everything...you just need to get all mats from him

Yep. Slap partbreaker and tool specialist on a damage set, bring temporal and rocksteady, and clutch claw spam the shit out of those horns. Almost killed him twice with this strat, got him to about 10% health, but I died, I didnt time out. His head is actually very safe to claw onto, only his physical attacks and 2 fire attacks that hit you, the rest dont

Sadly i had to drop the game, just didnt have the time to grind for 4 years straight. To many to small updates with mechanics counter to what MH used to be for me. Alatreon, although a lot of fun broke me. Instead of spending 100+ hours just to optimize, i rather enjoy more smaller titles. Not enough time in life to grind in to many games. MH got to MMO-y for me. Still happy to see so many people enjoying Fatalis. It's a nice addition to celebrate the last update (probably?).
I felt the same way. The latest end-game fights feel scripted in that there is a 'process' to beating the monster that extends beyond knowing your weapon's mechanics. Often, these strategies require certain sets or skills (or even a team of hunters) that honestly isn't attainable through casual play.
Alternatively, if anyone's low on wings, just go in with a pierce lbg set and part break. Unless you have terrible aim, you can get them pretty fast.

I don't really consider this a "cheese", necessarily. It's legitimate methods to break parts, and just returning to not waste any time. Never really been a fan of people calling anything easier than wasting time trying to get parts killing it as "cheese", but y'know, each their own.
On topic, though, really useful tip as someone who doesn't actually really like the fight all that much. I'm all for a challenge, this just isn't the kind I can have fun with, so this is exceedingly useful.
I beat the fight after suffering for hours and yeah this is challenging but not in a fun way. Unlike Alatreons almost consistent hitboxes, Fatalis's hitboxes are just pretty bad in general just like back in the day.
@@dappercrow8138 Yeah, I felt like a lot of Alatreon's attacks had pretty tight hitboxes, and AoEs had noticeable regions you could see would hit you(Also, with augmented gear and basic elemental defenses, almost nothing should be one-shotting you). With fatalis, however, you can basically get OHKO'd by the smallest little ember of flame from the very edge of a giant inferno, which after a while just gets fucking boring.
Unlike some people out there, I don't really find OHKO's, especially ones from spammed attacks with questionable hitboxes, to be all that fair or fun. And at the end of the day, the point of gaming is mostly to have fun, right?
Great for anyone who does somehow enjoy this fight, I just can't for the life of me find a way to. I enjoy hard fights when there's a point where you can consistently take it down, not when every single fight is a struggle. That's not fun to me, that's padding and tedium.
But, y'know, again, perspective takes hold and a lot of times, if someone enjoys it, they'll refuse to acknowledge that it might suck for others. It is what it is, and so that's why I'll just settle for getting parts I need through other methods, because those are actually consistent. Frankly, I have better things to do than waste it on a fight I don't enjoy just to get some digital goodies that mean nothing outside of this game.

Um, I can build the first tier Fatalis weapons, but not the armor, and haven't killed him yet. I've gotten the second head break with CritDraw Greatsword. Think I'm getting close to my first kill.

Something about this isn’t working for me. I’ve tried like 8 times today and only gotten the wing once. The parts just not breaking. I have every piece of armor and every skill (only Lv2 in Free Elemental/Ammo Up though)
It’s likely the final bomb placement if it’s too close to the wycern fire it’ll give the bonus to the wrong damage and if it’s too far away it won’t ignite them. If you do mess up the placement run over to the cannons and you can use those to finish off the wing

This is nice and all. But all I need to make the last 2 pieces of fatalis armor are evil eyes. Is there a cheesy way of getting those yet? I know head double-break does it but I have never got that to happen yet

i think you need both the eye and horn to unlock the armor, you probably didn't get them on your failed runs
