This was great Mel!!. We had a 12 hours layover at Dulles and we visited the capital one , Etihad and Turkish lounges. Glad we chose those, Best experience ever.
You chose very wisely!! Turkish and Ethiad were definitely the top Priority Pass lounges, imo, and I loved the Capital one Lounge! Glad you enjoyed your time in all three!
I visited three of the lounges when I was at Dulles in June: AF, CS/Etihad, and Turkish Air. Air France must have changed things up since I was there - I was able to sit in the main lounge with Priority Pass. It looks like there are fewer seats than there were just a month prior, so they must have moved some of them down to the basement. They had Taittinger champagne freely flowing at the bar - so good. I agree that the food in the main room was great too. The CS/Etihad lounge was just meh for me in terms of the food, but I'm a pescetarian. The cocktails were great though - they have great options at the bar. Turkish Air's food continues to be my favorite of the three - excellent hummus, pita, salads, etc. The Priority Pass app currently says that there's a three-hour time limit at the Turkish Air lounge, not three hours prior to your flight. I've been admitted twice with more than three hours until my flight. Great to see the other lounges that you visited!
Very interesting about the Air France lounge. Maybe they changed because there are so many people traveling this summer. I would love to see this change reversed if/when things start to slow down! :)
With DC as our hometown, Dulles is our preferred airport for international travel. We’ve enjoyed the Turkish and Lufthansa Lounges enough (nothing out of this world), but the best lounge at Dulles in my opinion is the British Airways Lounge. You should give it a whirl some time. The Polaris and Cap One that you previewed look really fantastic.
The British Airways Lounge used to accept Priority Pass, but sadly they no longer do. I'm glad to hear it's really nice! Btw, I'm finally working on my review of the Capital One Lounge at Dulles. It should be up within the week. That's a great lounge imo! :)
Thank you, this is great, never thought about looking to get into other lounges on the same boarding pass. Actually, didn't think I could even try. Guess I've been happy enough when stopping at DFW or IAD to sit in the CapOne lounge, which has been great when either alone or with my family. Have only had the card for a year , and access to the regular PP lounges is fine enough too (have tried ones @ MCO, YVR, ICN.) BUT next booking I make I'll try and swing a different airport for the layover, which usually happens when travelling from/to SAT and coast anyway.
The CapOne lounges are quite nice at least! But if you have extra time, you’re definitely allowed to lounge hop as much as you want. I’m always excited to hit a new airport so I can check out new lounges 😅
I love your lounge reviews so this was great! The Air France basement lounge looked depressing and I would have expected better from Virgin Atlantic. Thanks for taking us along!
Excellent informative video, thank you! If you are ever in Newark, Chicago or San Francisco (where we will be travelling next year 😂), it would be great to see the lounges there too 👍
I'm glad you liked it, and I'll keep Newark and San Francisco in mind for future tours. As for Chicago, that's my home airport and I'm sorry to say they are lacking in the lounge department 😭 Only one Priority Pass lounge, and it's in the international terminal. They have a great United Polaris lounge and a really nice American Flagship Lounge (which I'll be reviewing soon), but both require international business class flights to qualify for access. There's also a Delta Skyteam Lounge I enjoy. But Chicago could really use a Capital One Lounge or a Chase Sapphire Lounge 🤞🏼
@@MelsMilesandPoints that’s a shame about Chicago…we actually have Polaris business class tickets when we are transitting through Chicago so hope to visit the Polaris lounge. Never flown Polaris before so it is something we are really looking forward to 😊
@@tonimiller5497 you are in luck then! The Polaris lounge is great! I did a review so you might want to check it out if you missed it. I recommend going straight to the dining room to get your name on the list when you arrive. There is often a bit of a wait (but it's usually shorter than they say and they text you when your table is ready). Also - the skillet cookie for dessert is soooo good 🤤😅
Such a busy day for your lounge work 😂😂😂. IAD is my home airport, so it’s nice to see you enjoy your time. So far I only had a chance to try Turkish, people love it but when I used it (2019) it was just ok, food was limited at that time so I couldn’t try much. I have tried Chef Geoff’s a few times and it’s not bad at all. No more since Chase cut the restaurant options. Can’t wait to try out Polaris or Etihad this year. What’s your thought between Etihad vs United lounges? Cap1 lounge has an odd location when I first saw it. Watched your recent video about AF and then this AF lounge. Really disappointed to see their quality.
I was definitely hustling that day to get to all the lounges 😅😂 The Etihad/Chase Sapphire was definitely my favorite of all the Priority Pass Lounges. The Polaris and Capital One Lounges were great too, but not Priority Pass. If you get a chance to try Etihad/CS, I'd love to know what you think, so keep me posted! 😄

What did you like the best?
Love this video. Are you still planning on doing the videos on the other lounges?
Thank you! The video on the Capital One Lounge will be coming out this week so stay tuned for that! 😁
amazing content as usual!🤩
Thank you!! 🥰
Thank you Mel! IAD & DCA are my home airports.
Oh good! I hope it was useful then! I used to live in the DC area too before moving to Chicago 😁
Best review in detail👏👏
Thanks so much!!🙂

This is so awesome!! I did 4 lounge hopping when I was in Bangkok and I got tired 😂

Nice one mel
Thanks!! :)
Mel, you crack me up, I think you're a lounge-a-holic! What a superb video, I really enjoyed it.
I think you might be right 😂 I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the video! :)
Thank you
You're welcome! Hope you enjoyed it! 😄
Do you tip for drinks at lounges? I am just curious especially for a lounge that brings the drink to you.
I usually do, but it's really a personal choice. It's not a requirement.

Great video, despite the quirks of the lounges the variety is putting ORD to shame
Right?!?? I'm so sad that my home airport doesn't offer any decent Priority Pass options 😭
How's the IAD Chase Sapphire lounge compare to the other ones you've visited?
It's nice, but it's much, much smaller and thus has fewer amenities.
@@MelsMilesandPoints thanks.
Where’s the Capitalone lounge review
I'll try to post it soon! :)
