When I saw what I saw happening with boards I started looking even deeper. The mass canceling of Major board members based on cis, white males is unprecedented! One such example is Hasbro. We should do a connect about what I discovered with Hasbro.

    Here's a funny story about storytelling and woke culture:
    On 21 July 2021, Takeshi Natsuno, president of publisher Kadokawa(biggest manga publisher), broached the “need to redefine the standards of the Internet age and determine what is acceptable for the public and what is not,” endorsing censorship of more explicit content to appease western norms, and, implicitly, become more in line with American comics. It was met with sharp indignation from fans, mangaka, and even those within the company, who feared that such moves would set a negative precedent for the industry, or for freedom of expression. While Natsuno later apologized after significant pressure, the resistance to such efforts nonetheless illustrates an unwillingness to compromise on what made manga and anime so successful, and repeat the mistakes of their American counterparts.
    In his apology, Natsuno acknowledged that although he participated in the program in an individual capacity, it was inappropriate of him to say such remarks as the president of the company. He emphasized that his comments have no bearing on the direction of the company. As repentance, he will take a 20% pay cut for three months between August and October. On Twitter, he also apologized for any crude words or profanities he uttered in the program.
    Now just imagine if something like that happened in the west, our storytelling quality would be unparalleled. Before this era begun we made lord of the rings, game of thrones seasons 1-4, harry potter...Since then we have gotten willows, rings of power, halo, wheel of time and witcher.

      I'm a man and I definitely don't have pyramid tits, but I still was able to put myself in the role of Lara Croft. My melanin is a bit lower than Wesley Snipes, yet I was still able to enjoy him and look up to his coolness. Skin color didn't even came up in my mind. I'm much more conscious of skin color and sex since it has become such a problem. I believe Nerds have been a bit smarter about certain stuff since we've existed and whenever I watch all nerd stuff it seems that they've always have tried to be inclusive and open-minded (in context of the time and not always perfect) towards all these problems nowadays.
      We have to learn about our shortcomings, ignorance and got to grow on our own. I don't think pushing any 'lessons' through shitty writing will make people want to learn. If I was wearing a aluminum hat I'd think they are pushing these things just to reach the opposite and make people hate each other even more. I mean what's gonna happen if they keep pushing? Don't you think that the people who would benefit from opening their mind will grow to even hate 'the others' even more?

    With a property like star wars, there's a portion of the fan base that is just going to spend a lot more time, money and energy on the franchise. If you make films that go against the lore, you are going to offend them, which will lead to them spending less money on the franchise. That's just the way things work.

  • @LizRealGirlBeauty
    @LizRealGirlBeauty Год назад +1

    I don't know why they spend all that money to have a franchise with an already established fanbase to then deliberately antagonize and hate that fanbase. That's not going to make them any money. The fans are the reason the franchise is worth so much to begin with, because they watch multiple times, they buy all the toys and merchandise, and they make free publicity. What good does it do to piss them off? Like, they've spent all this money just to... teach fans a lesson? That's insane.

  • @Bonko78

    Some Swedish translation assistance:
    I read the original Swedish article and it actually doesn't say "cursed", it says "pissed off". The word in Swedish is the same (don't ask) and with added context, Google managed to supply the correct translation later in the article. "Editor Klenell" is likely her own editor. The article also doesn't say Annutar/Sauron looks "too hunky" but rather "too gay". I have no idea how Google messed that up. She says she is "Swedish-ish", probably due to her Finnish surname. We have lots of Finns in Sweden. "Gets him up all the time" means your videos appear in her algorithm all the time.
    It's interesting that she blames someone else for "making" her defend a show she describes as "mediocre" by a "slave-driving company". Just one more teaspoon of self-awareness might make her realize that she is responsible for her own thoughts. If I tell you that the magazine "Arbetet" means "the Labor" or "the Work", I bet nobody here is surprised these days. Sadly, it's yet another left-leaning publication tricked by pseudo-progressivism.

    • @BiggieTrismegistus
      @BiggieTrismegistus Год назад +16

      I don't know any Swedish but I know enough German (as long as it has to do with Nazis) to take a guess at what "Arbetet" meant. I figured it was "The Worker" but I realized I was seeing what you describe: a leftist publication that has lost touch with leftist and liberal (in the American sense) values. It pisses me off because I'm liberal as hell (once again in the American sense) and I'm fine with more representation for women, people of color, trans people, queer people and what have you. But for god's sake I don't want it to happen with ham-fisted messaging and self-congratulatory BS from Hollywood. Shut up and tell the stories! I'm not a moron; I'll get what they're trying to say even if they make it more subtle.
