It's weird I kinda actually prefer the Deluxe hardcover over the Absolute edition. Absolute edition comes with more 'content' and extras but the Deluxe edition almost feels more higher quality in some ways. If you don't care for the extras that the Absolute provides I'd actually say go for the Deluxe hardcover edition over the Absolute.
I Literally just bought The graphic novel Today Actually, But Sadly I didn't bought The deluxe edition though I only bought The Regular One with The Soft cover 🤷, Doesn't really Matter too Me though It's Still basically The Same Thing Watchmen The graphic novel is definitely worth Buying in my opinion I highly Recommended it For Hard core DC Fans 😁, The Movie and The HBO Mini Series is also great as Well
On Amazon this is the “international edition” where there is paperback and hardcover like urs. But now there is a 2019 edition with a different cover and only paperback. Which would u recommend if there is any difference
Well its a pretty edition but its only a HC with a slipcase there’s no bonus extra on that edition only the twelve issues and thats all, thought for a while that the deluxe edition from 2013 looks pretty accurate for collectors, the extras looks really really dope, with layouts, sketches, and notes from Neil Gainan, recently picked up my copy and im very very happy with that 😊
Probably because they'd rather capitalize on the name without having too many people search out the source material. If they did, they'd inevitably compare the quality of the show to the quality of the graphic novel, which is like having a paraplegic duck fight Jesus
Do you have the invisibles? Any idea of the most alchemical/astrology/occult comic book series? I have PROMETHEA and now I really want to find another series along the same lines of occult. I came across invisibles but seems like it may just be more conspiracy theory stuff? Anyway I hope they release book 3 of the deluxe PROMETHEA series....
@@FoolishFishBooks thank you. I can't really speak proper English. I knew the length of each chapter but I didn't know the term "issue" in this context. I though it only meant "problem" but it probably have a slang meaning in the editorial field.
Absolute is larger, generally the next step up in terms of build quality. But it comes with a significant price bump too. This is a nice medium between a standard hardcover and the deluxe Absolute
@@EditsbyAl3x hey it was worth it though, I've read it twice since I've got it and I'm having withdrawals ahaha I want to read it again, the story has consumed my life ahaha
The deluxe edition is the one reviewed in the video with all of the characters, if you want to pay 8-10 dollars less and not have the deluxe edition go for it but I would recommend the 2014
It depends what you like. It's very realistic, and super depressing, and a lot of it isn't in comic form (the book 'extracts' and newspaper clippings at the end of every issue have to be read for the comic parts to make any sense). It's an engrossing experience like not many others, but it's not a light read, like, say, your average Justice League arc which just hooks you from the first page and kinda carries you through a roller-coaster till the last page. This requires some commitment from the reader, but the reward is immense.
It's a good question. I admit that I haven't seen the new 'Modern Classics' and may well have gone for that if it had been around at the time of purchasing/recording.
@@Will-ty6ozIs a difficult question to answer. The paper seems to be the kind that would yellow, for sure, which gives it an authentic feel, though in the three years I've owned it, the colour hasn't budged. I can't guarantee what will happen in the future, though. Three years is a short time. Personally, I'm hoping that the pages DO yellow a little more over time as an artifact of the 80s...
@@dylancameron7967 most paperbacks are perfect bound. No sewing, all pages glued directly onto the spine. So called because you get a perfect edge, as opposed to sewn where the pages at the middle of the signature stick out more than those wrapping the signature. Nowadays, of course, sewn bound books get guillotined anyway so you get that perfect edge in either case.
Just a little suggestion- handling a book while shooting the video on the other hand is very unconfortable. Get yourself a small stand for the phone/camera. They cost 6 quid and they can be bent into any position. That's what I've bought and it's worth it. Saves you a ton of headaches and your videos will thank you for it. And so will your audience.
@@Yoko.Kurama no. It's literally a part of the story, just in a different format (a newspaper argument, a scrap of a novel...)not reading them would be like skipping pages.

Was it an actual hardcover deluxe edition or just the basic softcover version?
Hardcover!@@stormshadow5555
Took your advice and went with the 25th anniversary over the Absolute and I'm so glad I did. It's a beautiful book.
Indeed😊
is the 25th anniversary just the deluxe edition?

The soft cover is definitely a worthy buy! 😊
The HBO is horrible. Meanwhile The Ultimate Cut is pretty good.
Great review of this masterpiece, thank you for this.
Thank you for this! I was looking for a good hardover edition, and I'll probably go with this one.
Hi. Thanks for the review. Does this deluxe edition comprises of all the issues of watchmen ? Thanks
yes, all 12 issues
Are the colors the same as in the original or is there a recoloring?
This edition contains the entire saga? .I mean until #20.

From pictures I've seen of it, it looks very nice, but I haven't seen it IRL...

what's better this version or the 2019? i have a faint memory of Watchmen and i want to read the comic first before i jump in any TV show or movie.
I havent had the opportunity to see the 2019 edition close up. it looks very nice. I'm sure either version will be worth your while.
So do the pages feel thin and fragile? I'm all for the real comic feel, but I don't want to be worries about damaging the book while reading.
No nice and thick on this edition.
It's funny because I have the delux edition 2016 and the pages are really thin, similar if not the same to the paperback edition.
The HBO show is definitely a "sequel". I don't know why they are so up their own *** to not call it so.
@@FoolishFishBooks

The show was fantastic
Was woke trash
Will the international edition have all the issues ??
Nice review BTW
Just picked this up at Barnes and Noble
Hey does it contain all 12 issues?
Yep 😊 Full story inside.

V for Vendetta the 30th anniversary deluxe edition is another great one.
So this one is better than the normal edition where it’s soft(paperback I think)

It's the deluxe format, so not as large as the Absolute edition, but larger than Hardcover editions.
Does the deluxe version halve all the 12 original books in the inside or its just the first with special content?
