One thing I have to commend is how surprisingly good the AI is. They don't fuck around, they'll flank you, take you off of high ground (knights), take advantage of cover, and they push as a unit with the snipers and artillary pushing behind the frontline chaffe. They feel intelligent, and that makes them a lot more intimidating.
Absolutely. I got stalked by a fast-attacking melee enemy for almost 3 minutes until I was out of stamina and reloading, and he just blitz out of no where after never coming within 50 feet of me
In the [spoilers abound!] wailing tower, the first floor has melee enemies that won’t approach unless your feet are on the ground floor. If you stand in the staircase, they’ll readjust the positions until you can’t see them unless you know where they are. The wrong move again unless you hit them or you touch down on the bare floor, at which point they rush you from all sides. I learned the hard way to keep my stormball and burning stake handy at all times.
Lmao the old UI wasn't great. The whole reason people asked for UI changes is because the old one was kinda bad. ofc the new one is 10x worse but the old one wasn't good either.
Not sure why the focus on the price point. The game has 3 maps, with 3 more coming, 40 weapons, 20 or so spells, multiple bosses and puzzles on the maps, long term progression for character, weapons, spells and trinkets. Nothing about the game feels underwhelming for $40, and I've had it since it launched into EA when there was 1 map and 5 weapons.

I'm okay with this being solo only. Not everything has to have multiplayer. And sometimes the gameplay balancing doesn't feel right when playing co-op/pvp game in singleplayer. I'd rather a game focus on one or the other, and there are PLENTY of other mp shooters.
Gameplay loop gets a lil boring after a while especially alone. It's pretty easy to get comfortable with certain weapon and skill combos so farming loses a lot of value after you get weapons and items you like (or have tried out all the weapons and items that early access has to offer). I know this game is in early access but after completing the main and secret bosses in the map more than once there's really no reason to continue forward, adding co-op to the game could freshen up the difficulty if bosses get a bit more tanky, enemies become larger in number to account for extra players, and if enemies use different moves (perhaps more aoe) to split up you and your teammate and pick you off. There's a lot of interesting and fun diversity that to gameplay that can be introduced with co-op, and I think if this game isn't going to make grinding for items any more interesting, it should lend itself to co-op to make gameplay more interesting on multiple playthroughs/when mindlessly farming loot and upgrades.
Minor thing to point out about the diminishing returns on leveling-up Vitality: you actually gain additional healing flask slots at certain levels of Vitality (it's not clearly indicated). So, while you aren't getting as much max HP after a while, you are still building up value by gaining more healing flasks. Otherwise, I grabbed this game last night and have been really enjoying it. :)
I am pretty sure you get elixirs based on overall level, not vitality specifically. Anyway, the leveling system is getting a rework in the next big update early 2025
