Does this come with apple car play? Only reason I am not buying a Tesla now is lack of CarPlay, I will give this a try

Great question that I missed in the video. It does have the new sync 4 infotainment that has Apple car play!

Not sure about the "range being a little less than Tesla on the base model" since Tesla uses the 5 cycle EPA test and ford (as well as most others) use the 2 cycle test. The 5 cycle apparently is a little more "optimistic". The real test will come in the real world measurements that I'm sure will come after the official release. Although they have apparently cancelled their standard range model so you would have to compare the longer range versions.

@Ziggi Mon wrong a test done by inside evs published today, just showed the model 3&y going steady 70mph on a wet hwy getting within 10-12% of their rated epa ranges. Which is great because epa hwy rating is for only 50mph average. 👍🏻

@Ziggi Mon 75% is a little low, the Model Y was tested at 70 MPH and got about 87%. The Porsche Taycan on the other hand did way better than its EPA rating.

@Ziggi Mon Like gas vehicles, no two people get the same mileage, but the constant 70 MPH test that InsideEVs uses is useful to compare highway performance. In that test the Y got about 87% of it's rated range the 3 about 91%, the Porsche 137%, but most of the others were within a few %. I'm interested to see what the Mach E does since it's European rating is higher than the Model Y.

The only thing this has over a tesla besides access to tax credits still, is it looks damn good!
Otherwise it's unproven, less efficient by a lot! 88kwh useable battery for mach e equals only 300 miles of range in rwd low hp only.
Vs 75kwh useable battery on a model y with awd and a much more significant amount of hp&tq equals over 300 miles of range.
Plus access to the absolute hands down best dcfc network anywhere. And if you watch inside evs earlier video with Dave pericak he was very cagey on when and exactly how much of the mach e will actually be able to do any ota updates(see vw id3 also so far not allowing ota updates. So yeah that means no sentry mode, dog mode, romance mode, fart mode, camping mode, racing games using the actual pedals&steering wheel, or karaoke mode either.
And when the gt with that sexy looking fake grilled nose finally is out sometime late next summer? Well that against a model y perf won't be a fair fight either. Don't forget fomoco also is planning to alot the majority of these straight to the eu for beating emissions fines. So the U.S. allotment is less than 20k for all next year!

I think limited numbers will create some well deserved hype for the Mach-E imo. I’d love to see it do well

@@CrowdHunters limited numbers being shipped primarily to the eu in order to avoid them paying emissions fines. Just proves fomoco isn't serious about bevs. It's just another compliance effort, this time made to look sexy. Maybe they survive, adapt and change fast enough? Who knows in the end.
But if anyone knew about Ford's history. They'd know Ford made electrics over a century ago. Even Henry Ford's wife refused to drive an ice vehicle due to noise and smell. Fun fact thanks to many women driver's, electrics went away in the late 1920s upon the advent of the electric starter motor being introduced for ice vehicle's.
