Hey everyone - hope your'e all staying safe! For those asking - yes, a RE2vsRE3 comparison is coming, and I received a code for MW2Remastered yesterday so I'll also be working on coverage for that - stay tuned :)
In my opinion the ambient sound of the original is way better. You can hear the creepy distant cries of the zombies and the sounds of the crows always watching you, all of this with the wind blowing through all the buildings. I hope this game gets an ambient sound mod.
I felt the same about re2 remake. The zombie moans mixed with the crows and the wind still gives me creeps. Wouldve been nice to see shinji Mikami get his hands on re2 and re3 remake.
I have an issue with my sound just being bland. Ps4 pro and the sounds that should be intense sometimes have a weak punch or even quiet moments between the speakers. My system is atmos and sounds great for other games.
It's probably more the difference in the mixing of sound rather than removal of 'bass'. Sound systems and sound processing are incredibly different now compared to the 90ties. Basically as far as I'm aware RUclips gets rid of subwoofer information (The .1 channel for sound guys) in it's compression. Thereby you loose that 'bass' or punch when you upload sound to youtube. Now I don't really know the technical abilities of the PS1 but I'm willing to bet that it doesn't make proper use of a dedicated subwoofer. Sound was probably mixed to play mono or maybe stereo (one or two speakers) thereby being unaffected by RUclips compression. TL,DR RUclips removes the kick of sound to save on space, but if you play the game on your local system it should sound better. HOWEVER this is a somewhat informed guess and I'm no sound engineer so I could be totally wrong!
You have very less resource for sound processing on consoles that's why. Barely a core or a core and a half of the Jaguar CPU is dedicated to audio for sound eng/designers. This is why next-gen consoles, esp PS5 has dedicated AMD's modified GPU compute units just for sound processing. When utilized to its full potential, it would be like using the entirety of the 8-cores of the Jaguar CPU of a PS4 console.
I'm no expert on "All Games" but in this comparison I noticed in the original a less complicated (echo?) but more believable sound for guns while the remake added more effect to a pea-shooter. This is not what the previous 2 comments are refereing to. The first blaming RUclips, the second blaming specs. RUclips might disturb certain deep bass effects but that is not the issue in this case. And if the specs are preventing complicated sound effects, why is the remake more complicated with better echo? I think the OC has a good point, I got similar thoughts while watching the video.
9:52 what i like about the old resident evil 3 is the ambient sound. you can actually hear the zombie sound in the background making the environment is more scarier than the remake but that's my opinion
In my opinion, the original Resident Evil 3 was more immersive, it was different style of gameplay when it came to the choice Style. But the one thing I was waiting for was nemesis 2 constantly say Stars , the way he says it in the original. But in the new version he barely says that and it's very faint. I remember him from constantly saying Stars the way he said it in the original
The original is my favorite Resident evil. What I liked most about the original were the choices you could make, the Nemesis stalking you, and the Mercenaries mode.
Yes, the new voice is not as good as the classic one. He barely says the word. In the original Re3, he had a very creepy voice and said the word very often.
I undertsand, but the original doesn't make sense with that part and messes up the canon story. Also, Jill visiting the RPD also would've messed up the way the remake of 2 develops, it actually fixes the story compared to the originals.
I played it today on hard difficulties, I don't know it just feels weak compared to original while gameplay wise it so damn quick finished it only 1 day while it takes me week to complete RE 2 remake
@Dominic dominic what do you mean blinded? They just stating the facts.. the original is more challenging gameplay, thrilling, have lots of puzzle to solve and more jumpscares than the remake.. also the RE 2 remake is much more scarier and successful than RE 3 remake that's why more fans got disappointed but not that much they've just expected better for this remake, and also I wanna tell you that nemesis in remake is not terrifying anymore he became like an enemy in monster hunter
It's just hard to comprehend. Removing the ICONIC clock tower is pure stupid. I wonder which genius came up with the idea and how it was approved. Just why?
To cut development cost and time. They even didn't have the effort to put mercenaries in it, some people even complain how short the campaign is and almost didn't have any replayability compared to RE2 remake
@@Mobius10167 And the best part(not really good) is that they pushed on us that awful Resistance game (which currently have less then 4k people playing it) to fill on the hole of the cuts.
The press office, park, clocktower, restaurant, gravedigger, choice action mechanisms ect were too much work for them they decided nah can't be bothered making a park with trees and water, adding those iconic music box puzzles into an intricately designed clocktower nah we'll just do the hospital that was near the park that'll do sell
The fact that he stalks you in the original makes it much scarier, too. Also the fact that you can't make choices like in the original is also a bummer.
I actually like the sound of the bullets falling onto the floor in the old version of the game whereas the remake solely focuses on the sound of the gun!
Being from the 90's I absolutely love that these past times are getting remade. But I gotta say I will always love the classic versions. The atmosphere they created for a zombie apocalypse was unmatched for it's time.
Same. Nothing will beat the originals but it seems they did a good job trying. Reviews on REmake3 seems to be divided though but I still wanna play it. And how about those Crash, Spyro, FF7, and Medievel remakes? Its like the 90s all over again!
@@ModeSOLOgaming Yeah they're definitely going to be mixed. It's a very short game - but whatever.. I had fun playing it anyway. If you're a fan of the series go for it - but just know that you're looking at a 6-8 hr experience on average.
Pretty sure having those fixed and stationary camera angles helped create said atmosphere. The lack of a player controller camera really added to the suspense
Unfortunately this game is a good example why graphics aren't everything, I've already beat it and the story and level design was much better in the original :/ capcom kind of rushed it.
I always thought the sounds of the zombies moaning in the distance with the wind in the original really staged the scene, very creepy. The remake seems silent.
Typical Capcom, they reinvent themselves and blow us away, then get complacent and churn forgettable bullshit for a couple years. It's like a 5 year cycle with them, particularly with the RE franchise. So 2025 we're gonna have another incredible RE game haha
@@guyred2083 true. It is not that they do not give fans what they want. It is the same thing that happens with street fighter. They start great with giving people what they would like. Then start to cash the cow with many variations of the same game. The game isn't bad. They could juat spend a bit more time and make more of what the original had to offer as they did with the RE2 remake
This game definitely needs a price cut. It's too high a price for the amount of gameplay it offers. I for one definitely enjoyed the game but even then felt it is too costly.
Yeah the original was so much better in my opinion. Even the RE2 remake was so disappointing I stopped playing when I got to the sewers. Like you said, they should have done just a straight remaster.
I admit. I was kinda disappointed in the remake. I’ve played the original re3 hundreds of times over and over and the new one took out a lot. Took out the clock tower, the garage, the gas station, the park, the restaurant, shortened your experience in RPD. The city itself in the remakes doesn’t convince me that I’m in the wrecked raccoon city. Whoever directed this new one does NOT understand re3 at all.
Everyone always lists the cut areas, but hardly anyone mentions the fact that you can't make choices anymore, and that the Nemesis doesn't stalk you. In my opinion these are two of the major things that made the original so good. And also Mercenaries.
It was the absolute dumbest decision to focus on Resistance, a game nobody wanted, instead of taking their time like they did with RE2. And they never should’ve had a B team working on this game.
Who play original version of resident evil 3 Nemesis 19 years ago? Please like...I played it during my age 19 years old now I'm 36 years old. I think blowing wind effect still creepy than new one.
I'm 23 and played RE3 on the PS1 in elementary school. It was and always will be my favorite video game. I was a little disappointed in how short the remake was and didn't add any of what made it memorable like the choices to change the story or how you run into Nemesis at the RPD.
Kenny Namikaze I played most RE series in PC platform and PS only here the list RE1, RE2,RE3, RE code Veronica, RE zero, RE outbreak file 1, RE outbreak file2, RE4,RE5,RE6,RE7, RE2 remake and RE3 remake still not played because I no longer have a PC. Probably soon or later..
I'm glad there's at least one person here that can appreciate both games. It seems like most people just want to complain that the remake is too different.
The original resident evil 3 nemesis, as a young kid turned me into a professional vfx artist, and i ended up working for assassins' creed when I was in my 20s. I had no idea what 3D was, or anything, it was my first game ever, and I figured out how to email capcom as a kid asking how do i become a part of this in the future, and to my surprise, they didn't ignore me a kid from a 3rd world, but they responded to me encouraged me and dropped the magic words called, 3dsmax, maya etc. ..From that point onwards, I set foot in learning 3D, on a mission and eventually worked as a lighting lead for the resident evil movie, then branched into game. It was a proud achievement. Btw, Resident evil 3 Nemesis original may have had it's weakness or I should lay limitations, but the same limitations were turned into their strength that made the game even more epic, the odd camera angles may seem like they were odd, due to their limitations but they were epic. I still feel like the original was way better. It has a special place in my heart, I believe that game changed my life quite literally and turned me into who I am today. In every studio I ever worked for, I had resident evil 3 nemesis wall paper in my work station.
would you be able to make those of us true horror fans happy again by trying to make another game thats very similar to old resident evil like the camera angles the music and other special sound effects ect
Dude, that was very inspiring. Resident evil in general will always hold a special place in my heart. I love RE2 and RE3. This remake did lack a bit, especially coming off of the amazing RE2 remake. I do enjoy the new areas, but why not add those areas for extra content? Why cut things from the original, like the whole last half of the game? Still these remakes are great games, and kudos to you and the others in the industry making amazing spectacles that games are now. Compared to back in the day anyway.
@@johngardner529 when I open my own studio in the future i can definitely try. Sometimes I come to RUclips to watch the walk through of the original resident evil 3 nemesis and feel the vibe where it all started for me. Just incredible!
The missing details, characters, and places of this remake compared to the original RE3: Nemesis: In terms of location: - You can’t explore the RPD station as Jill (which all of us expecting and kinda disappointing). - You can’t explore the Saint Michael’s clocktower area. - No Carlos vs. Nemesis, Jill vs. Nemesis inside the Saint Michael’s clocktower area. - No park area and the cemetery where Jill battled the grave digger boss. - The Stagla gas station cannot be explored while in game only in the cutscene. - No battle with Nemesis inside the train alongside with Mikhail. - No underground battle with the grave digger. - The location of the final boss battle with Nemesis is at the Umbrella’s underground research facility instead of the original’s dead factory where there are corpses of the other tyrants (besides Mr. X) and the U.S Delta Force team that battled there. In terms of weapons: - Gatling gun, - Usable M66 rocket launcher (used by Carlos at the beginning). - Mine thrower (replaced to become mine rounds for the grenade launcher). - S&W M629C magnum revolver (replaced by the lightning hawk handgun). - Usable M4A1 assault rifle for Jill (only in the demo version of the remake). - STI EAGLE 6.0 (M1911 handgun with scope). - M37 western custom (sawn-off shotgun). - SIGPRO SP2009 handgun. - Benelli M3S pump action shotgun. - HK-P grenade launcher (like in RE2 remake). - Freeze rounds for the grenade launcher. - Enhanced handgun and shotgun ammo. Oh by the way, the developers of this game really discourages us to defeat Nemesis every time we encounter him because of the item drops. Not really rewarding except for the first two downs of him after that Nemesis will only drop ammo. I was expecting some parts for the new weapons and it was kinda disappointing. In terms of Jill’s costume: - No Regina outfit from the Dino Crisis. - No biker costume (black leather suit & red belt). - No dancer costume (white disco suit). - No police officer uniform (blue police shirt, dark blue shorts) - No blue blouse & black pants. - No blue tank top, blue skirt, and brown boots. In terms of enemies and bosses: - No crows - No brain suckers - No giant spiders - No small spiders - No hunter gammas (mini version like in the original RE3) - No grave digger boss battle - No boss battle with Nicholai (in a helicopter) - No Nemesis second form (the one that has stripped off torse revealing the tentacles). Others: - Less gory (which is disappointing, that’s one of the factors that makes this game great, ex: when the zombies are blasted by the explosion their bodies are mutilated apart, when nemesis is gonna finish Jill with his tentacle, it doesn’t let you see it, when the hunter’s gonna finish Jill/Carlos, they just die from the scratch instead of their heads being cut off). - No live selection during cutscenes which will make you decide what outcome should be done. - No alternate ending that Barry will rescue Jill and Carlos via helicopter. - You can’t re explore the other parts of the Raccoon City streets. Like once you’re done in that part it’s really done and you can’t go back to that area. - Lastly, no Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal mode. Comment below the other details I’ve missed from the RE3 remake comparing to the original RE3.
I can make pretty sure the same list of things missing in RE2 Remake from the original. But no one pointed them out. But as much as they cut things, they added new things and you can't just ignore all of it. - Jill's apartment - New epic intro - New take on Raccoon City, we got to see it in the middle of the outbreak, people dying, running we hear the police calling to shelter, gunshots, helicopters, explosions, screams - New train station area - New sewer area with much more intimidating Gamma hunters and a good backstory to them if u read the files. - Brainsuckers are in the game with their own area in the power station - Brad is given justice - EXPANDED HOSPITAL with good lore to it - MORE Nemesis backstory if you read the files - Marvin's wound origins, tragic - More connexion with RE2 - More interesting Nemesis, with new weapon each time, and new forms - Carlos is way better with new personality - Mikhael's scene is epic - Nicolai is a total dick - Tyrell is actually used and has more screen time - Murphy is there, Dario, Kendo is new - Clock Tower and Park are there actually, just not explorable - Dead Factory got mixed the new NEST - Lickers ! - Epic final combat with Nemesis - THIS IS A DAMN REMAKE NOT A REMASTER AND THE DEVS MADE A GOOD JOB ! IF YOU WANT THE ORIGINAL GO PLAY IT !
Yeah, just as much was missing or was replaces in RE2R but no one made a big deal about it, everyone praised the game. To me personally, as a huge fan of RE3 original (my favorite game of all time), I really loved RE3R, despite some of the more questionable changes, like the missing clock tower interior.
@@eventhorizon4795 There was a USB flash drive in RE2R as well, did it bother you there? Will it still bother you if you knew there were actually flash drives in the 90s, just not commercially available? And the first one they sold was in the year 2000, which is not that much later than September 28, 1998, daylight. Come on, crying about flash drives now.
The remake is nice but they should had included: The worm Clock tower Choice system Park The complicated puzzles Brad killed brutally by the nemesis Marvin bitten by a normal zombie while saving his coworkers (outbreak file 2) Nicholai being killed by nemesis Stay with the alpha gama old design ( the new designs remind me of a mutated raw chick with those lil hands) Aaand of course keep the old design of nemesis, the face I mean, the new clothes is cool
The original holds up so well. The attention to detail and music is amazing. Upscale the background art, effects and the replace the character textures, improve the controls and I would be just fine with a remake. You wouldnt be able to tell it's a 1999 game.
I would have loved if capcom done this when they brought out RE 2-3. To also include the original 2-3 game. Now that would had been pretty slick. Play the remake and play the original as well
true that will be awesome. especially since some of the cutscenes have been changed/improved (like the beggining of the second mission team player where you jump off a jeep that was shot by an RPG and don't just start on the ground and also they added the option to inspection every weapon)
@@mint7764 My personal favorite improvement was the sound design and the reload animations. It was a bit disappointing that they just recycled MWR's sounds, but they did remaster the ones that weren't in that game and they sound way better and more powerful than the original. Also the sounds when they remove empty mags and insert new ones and when they cock it. So cool.
@@miltongomez5189 The did add and expand things. The sewer, hospital, and underground lab/NEST areas are all expanded. The overall length of the game is roughly the same as the original.
@@sanguinoctua this game feels like a downgrade from RE2 remake because in RE2 remake they expanded places and added new areas but still kept mostly faithful to the OG but this game changed way to much they even removed the iconic clock tower
It’s gut wrenching that 3 amazing areas from the original weren’t even in the remake. I’m sure we all wanted to know what they could have looked like. I hope there’s an awesome crazed team that could make a MOD of these areas. This is a great video by the way. Thanks for sharing.
@@somedudewhodraws9377 well obviously the graphics are ok they look great but tell me what did they do with this game basicly nothing they didnd work on its gameplay not on the animations nothing just graphics.. story and added few simple features
@@splash_067 nah 2 was ok it didnd add anything new but thats understandable with building a new game but 3 is total cash grab bs they should have updated the gameplay and animations waaaaaaaaaay more it should have played like the last of us the gore system, enemy ai, player movement, jumpscares, atmosphere music, graphics should have been waaaaaaay better instead they just pooped out half a re2 game with worst features
Dominic dominic well this focuses on the graphics and sound design which is of course amazing but most people are complaining about the lack of gameplay. when you consider how much gameplay was removed from the remake you have to admit it does feel a bit rushed.
seeing this now, i have to give respect to technology in general. It actually does look like a whole new game because of all the upgrades. They really thought of everything that would be a better look in general.
Well the original is a classic, the overall remake does an amazing job with the modern graphics and sound. I just find it to be an interesting experience seeing classics with remakes, even though at times it feels like a brand new different game.
I really dislike how zombie animations don‘t blend in with physics. If they walking against they wall they‘ll walk on the spot instead of falling against it
Drew Does Stuff How could it be for console limitations if these physics were in re 2 remake that had a very good performance and graphics even for the basic consoles ?
Drew Does Stuff it can’t be cause of console limitations, RE2 worked perfectly fine and imo the graphics look better than re3. And TLOU 2 (thanks to covid, whenever it releases) looks fucking amazing and is gonna be on a base PS4, from what I heard. It’s using the PS4 power to the max
The Remake is shorter than the original. They cut out Raccoon Park and another area from the original. Lots of profanity in the Remake. Music won't be anywhere near as good either, assuming they follow the RE 2 Remake's style. Capcom did something special with RE 2 and 3 that I think they failed to replicate with the Remake's. Now, the remake of the original RE is a masterpiece. I think it is the greatest remake of all time, tbh. I wish they would have followed its style, graphics, and tone.
Bruno R.M I would have to disagree. The gameplay was good for the most part, but re2 remake bastardized the story and made a half assed a and b scenario for both characters, along with simplifying the puzzles for the dumber people out there. I thought re2 remake was good but not as good as it could have been.
REmake was great for sure. I'm definitely feeling like REmake 2 and 3 could've had some fixed camera angles and such but honestly the newer style is just fine. Seems to have worked out better in these remakes than the trash that was 4, 5, and 6.
og re3 and re3remake even with the cut content are around the same length. if anything og is maybe 30 min to an hour longer with both being around 5 hours long.
I hate how they took out the Clock Tower, Dead Factory, Raccoon City Park and the gravedigger boss fight. Those were the things I was the most excited to see remade .
If they cut the Hospital or the RPD and put Clock Tower and The Park, people would still say they miss them and that they were their favorite part of the game. Come on, they cut content and remixed it instead, but the content they cut served no purpose in the new story they were telling in this Remake. Even in the original they made no significant impact on the story. Yet they ADDED some new content and locations ! Clock Tower's ICONIC moment was the fight with Nemesis. It's in the Remake. The Hospital was like a 10 min long little run to make the vaccin, and now it's more than that with a new lore to it. Dead Factory got mixed with Nest for Story Purpose too : The "underground" where the Vaccin is being stored for mass production to save the population. The Park is actually IN the game, but remixed. It's just before you fight Nemesis in the Clock Tower. A big beautiful area with a river. The grave digger was not in the game, but we got a whole new sewer area with much more intimidating Gama Hunters with a backstory for them if you read the files. Damn we even got Brainsuckers with their own area. Nemesis fights got more interesting with him showing up each time with a new weapon or mutation. Carlos got a new personality, Mikhael's scene was epic, and he was more useful than in the original, Nicolai oh man what a dick ! Tyrel got a hell of a role, while in the original he was just there for 3 sec and then blew himself up. Brad had redemption when he held the door for Jill to escape after he got bit. We even saw how Marvin got his wound ! Some dialogue with Kendo, and the legendary Dario Rosso with his full epic line... The pharmacy is there, the bar is there, Jill's apartment is new, the garage is there, Stagla Station is there, new subway station (from RE Outbreak), Power Station is there, the nod to the crystal puzzle is there, the lock-pic is more used and usefull, the final boss fight with nemesis is way crazier.... The interactions between Jill and Nemesis are more worked on.... I mean this remake is very awesome, if people stop complaining about stuff and enjoy it for what it is.
@@aminedbgt I read what you said and you do have a valid point on what you said... The game was good, I'll admit that. Some jump scares and yes nemesis was coming back bigger crazy each time.. The game was good, not great even if it was a balance between RE2 before, after and a little middle of the game play.. Very short, but I'm ok with short games at times. Just curious will they work on code Veronica now.. Hoping they start picking up after 7 now.. I did like what you wrote
@@Ki77a_WhSpRz see, this why I am not liking the reviews. It will discourage Capcom to do a Code Veronica Remake. If this game doesn't sell well cuz of the reviews then this is the end of Remakes.... Which is sad considering the quality of them, we got two GORGEOUS remakes, two of the best remakes in history of gaming remakes. Capcom can't please everyone that's for sure. In RE2 Remake they play it safe, and didn't wanna go wild. But in this RE3 Remake, since they announced it, they clearly said that they are gonna change a lot and take more freedom "re imagining" the story. And they did a fantastic job. I hope they won't get discouraged by all those negative feedbacks...
@@aminedbgt Same here. !! What capcom should had done was release the original RE2 and 3 on the remakes they did so people can play remake or original as well. That would had brought the sells up more.. Doon eternal did it with doom 64..
To be honest these remakes prove that older games were more interesting and better than current ones. *Edit- I'm talking in terms of story line and that, and how remaking old games proves that the story is better than these days*
I think the remakes are fine. I personally think the problem is that some people are too picky. I agree that they should have kept the same locations and that the game seems a little short (but I don't think the original was very long either), but some of these comments are ridiculous and it honestly feels like people are just looking for a reason to complain.
The nemesis comparison really highlights how much the music adds to the tension, the new nemesis without music sounds much less threatening and more like a video game boss.
Theres music in the new game as well.. i muted it so you could hear audio. The original doesnt allow you to mute the music

@@Nick930 Oh wow that's good to know, RE3 is my favorite (due to nostalgia) and I'm huge RE fan, so I'm eagerly waiting for my copy of this game. Thanks as always for the content Nick!
The removal of the clock tower also removes my favorite cinematic scene of the original game: When jill thinks she is going to be save and Nemesis put the helicopter down. I remember being a kid with a friend playing this area, and we were so hyped by it. The scene starts with a very happy uplifting song, Jill thinks she is finally saved. We really thought it was the end of the game, we were kind of happy to finish it and then immediately crushed by Nemesis hahaha
I like more the old ambient..the sound of nemesis, the moaning of the zombies, when you are running in the streets and hear the change of the music (meanwhile you are jumping on your chair for the scare) I think that was lost in the remake
Jesus those gun sounds are so trash. Yes, OG RE3 sound dated but they still do the job. RE3 remake sound so flat and unimpactful. Honestly, I had the same issue with RE2 remake.
Agreed. The sound design is garbage on the remake. Re2 lacked atmosphere. Zombies used to sound terrifying. Now they sound annoying. No iconic music that made the original terrifying. I didn't like RE2 remake cos of the lack of faithful atmosphere.
As a remake, RE3 fails in many ways, but as a game on it's own it's pretty good. It's a rather short experience, but it's still good and grips you well enough to care about what's going on and find enjoyment in it.
Let's be honest the remake is going to be more scarier modern day if you go play the original right now everything that would be considered "scary" would be a joke now the only reason it was scary because the game was new plus everyone was younger
Project_Hyper 17 the dude was talking about some details in the original game, like the scary music, and Nemesis sound and rage screams, it was better than the remake. actually I just finished the game, and regarding these small details let compare between the ending scene of city destruction, the music in the original game, and the scenes that brings back places that you got attached to right before it get destroyed, such as RPD, Clock Tower. the small details in RE3 really made it unbeaten.
@@ammarmohammed8600 but RE3 was meant to reimagine the story people need to know the difference between remastering and remaking this is a remake it's not meant to be to be the same game it's just a reimagining of the game so what I'm trying to say it's not the same game
+Project_Hyper 17 sorry bro that’s a fucking stupid excuse of basically saying the game was rushed lol. Nothing about the remake other than graphics and gameplay and small hint of nostalgia was memorable or impactful. The OG did so much good while the Remake rushed and took out what made the OG good. Quit trying to defend mediocre disappointment.
Rather than changing classic with RE4 POV, now I wish remakes just improve it's graphic and controls, like the first remake. Giving less reason for the company to butcher the game, and completely change memorable events. RE 1 is far less dissapointing remake, and it's perfect, because all they did was fixing issues, and add new contents.
@@huskytzu7709 Bro I can't wait.. I'm playing RE3 now, guess game stop did an early release with all this stuff going out here and man. Thus game is smooth and clean.. The last of us 2 gonna be insane

@@brunor.m3276 Something with resolution or so? Serious guys, this is not a one on one copy. Not worth the full price considered how the OG compared to the average game of that time and what they did now.
It’s too linear and nemesis is reduced to run away segments. It’s starting to revert back to the action oriented resident evil again. I hope the next game is more like re2
Pat rice THANK YOU, I was shocked when he said nemesis appears more randomly compared to the original (and reading comments of people saying he’s scarier now)
delightful he’s scary but he doesn’t bother you at random, you know when he’s coming which is lame. I wish you were stuck in a huge building to explore with him in it. That would have been terrifying.
If anything I found Nemesis really fucking annoying in this one as opposed to the old one. He isn't scary when he stun locks you with melee attacks until you die.
Ill always find the originals scaryer. its something about the ps1 graphics and camera angles make it soo much more scary than the remakes. not to mention the original music my god the original police station theam from res2 will never not make me feel uneasy
@Rorschach They almost have the same length: RE2 (Leon or Claires campaign) is about 5 and a half hours long, and RE3 is 4:50 - 5 hours. Actually, even original RE3 was little shorter than 2. I played both remakes and I loved them. Only problem with RE3 is theres no giant mutated worm as a boss, like aligator in 2, and theres no mercenaries.
i prefer the classic. the remake is not horror games. its action game and also too many location remove and also no puzzle. also i hate multiplayer mode
emoronez I unfortunately never played RE3, only watched how cousins played it... this being the second remake I played, I fairly enjoyed it a lot! The first encounters with Nemesis are scary... like RE2, the scary parts later on in the game become more action filled. Capcom does a WONDERFUL job portraying a painting, once they finished it, it seems they tweak it once its almost finished. Not complaining, im already on my third play through!
Thanks for the video, it's definitely worse than RE 2 remake on every level, even the physics is terrible in this game compare to the previews one and it seems to be because the 2 games were developed by 2 different team which had to 2 different visions on what needed to be done to modernize the games.
It's kinda how it originally worked out too. When RE3 originally came out a separate team had worked on it while the main team got to work on Code Veronica, which was actually suppose to be the 3rd in the series. Seems like history just repeated itself. Now if only the main team was working on a RE:CV remake. That would be great.
I wish they hadn't cut out the choices, or how the Nemsis stalks you. Mercenaries too. If they had kept that, I wouldnt have minded them cutting out those areas.
Resident evil 3 remake left out sooo much...the parking, police station, clock tower, graveyard, park, Damn everywhere Jill , in original, went Nemesis followed. The new nemesis had three things I didn't like: he had elongated teeth, he transformed toooo soon, and the way he said STARS didn't feel as creepy
Dominic dominic They did rush it out a bit. I would have enjoyed if they took a year and a half or 2 years for it. They needed to touch it up a bit more.
@Dominic dominic how is it better than the original? Realistic rendering is no excuse when the previous game being re2 remake was more complete than re3 remake.not only that but re2 looks way better than re3 imo, gameplay feels severely toned down, barely any puzzles areas are small and confined etc.
Dominic dominic Capcom is a big company they have at least 300 working on this game and tell me what have they added other than couple of places from RE2 ? Nothing . Everything’s the same from RE2 remake guns, animations, sounds, most of raccoon city, graphics. What a shame
@Dominic dominic I am not blinded by nostalgia, I simply see the games for what they are and when comparing the two in my mind the original executes all its ideas better than the remake. Not everything is about the nostalgia factor.
@Dominic dominic Well why is that? Because to me the original plays better because it's more in depth and it has more player agency for example the gun powder crafting is way more in depth with the options of what ammo you want to make while the remake uses a simplified version. Another thing for me is nemesis is pulled off way better in the original he was tough as nails and actually dropped valuable items. I think for me at least is that the remake is too automated and too easy. However i am curious to know why you prefer the remake as long as we can remain civil
Ive already seen all the outfits the nexus has collected for claire from RE2, and how.........revealing they are. I honestly cannot wait to see what the community does with jills costumes haha
The sound design in the remake is just bad. In original RE3 it was way more pronounced and juicy. Almost all modern games have music that barely here and weak sound effects you can barely recognize or even hear, sadly. P.S.: DOOM Eternal has the best OST and the best sound design in years! Huge props to the crew.
Both the classic and remake are great and amazing in their own ways while I wish they kept the remake as close to the original as much as possible a new experience is what they went with and its okay because the game is still great 👍
It's not. Love how while you're walking down the streets on RC, you can hear random gun shots in the distance. letting us get the idea that there is still people out there trying to survive.
RE3 was the first Resident Evil game I played, of course I'm hyped for the remake. Unfortunately it is missing a lot of content from the original. They should make a "Director's Cut" or "Definitive Edition" for the remake.
Wish they'd do the director's cut so that they'd have more time to work in bringing the park and clock tower back and more faithful to the original RE3.
I dont like how Nemesis is just walking most of the time. It's only scripted sequences he runs. And his punching animation is reused from Mr X. Lazy!!! Remake Nemesis was supposed to be 100x scarier than Mr X, but Mr X comes out on top. I never would've guessed.
The originally was a lot longer, mainly the weren’t much areas that were blocked off like the remastered version and you encounter nemesis a lot more in the original. I’m still happy though 🙏🏽
Removing the Clock Tower, the Park AND the Dead Factory is one thing, but removing the "Choices" altogether was the biggest ball drop smh. Res Evil 3 was my favorite. SO disappointed 🥺
Graphics and cinematics its not what makes a game great, the original res3 is far beter. And there are examples of many games like god of war etc But know most people speek about gaphics lighting to rate a game more than other things
Re3 nemesis was one of the first games I played, and probably the 1st I fully completed. I played a ton of games after that, but I can still say Re3 nemesis is the best game ever made.
I am so incredibly worried that Nemesis will become a nuisance and not a scary thing. Also he sounded much better in the original. His new 'STARS!' is too quiet
He looks like he's just casually watering his lawn with that dumbass flamethrower they gave him. He was truly a menace in the original.. This one? We'll see
The one weird thing was how low powered the 5.56 ammunition was and I wish the game lasted longer. I finished it in about 4 hours 40 minutes. I felt like I was playing RE2 expansion with a fast pace so I missed a few items. I was literally too hyped for this game but it was worth it and now I'm playing it through again:D
@@Micro296 Yeah I saw that... They changed up her skirt.. I kinda see why they did it like that, considering all the moving around she does compare to the classic game

@Drew Does Stuff its not a matter of panties or not , its a matter of principles , i hate censorship and many others do so even if its not that important were gonna still make things RIGHT. at the end of the day its just a game .. dont wear skirts or dont show your own panties fine by me , but its not for you to say what is acceptable or not , cause its just that a skirt , some women like skirts men like to see women on skirts , its not a bad thing so it shouldnt require censorship.

Hey everyone - hope your'e all staying safe! For those asking - yes, a RE2vsRE3 comparison is coming, and I received a code for MW2Remastered yesterday so I'll also be working on coverage for that - stay tuned :)
Hope you can compare the dismemberment and gore, I've seen alot of people mention some downgrades. Would be nice to get a direct comparison on that.
My prayers have been answered
So, Nick... Whats your verdict on the sound of RE3?
To me it should be "undecided" at best ;)
You missed a chance to make an april fools video joke as old RE2 vs old RE3
The dead factory is below the Hospital .
In my opinion the ambient sound of the original is way better. You can hear the creepy distant cries of the zombies and the sounds of the crows always watching you, all of this with the wind blowing through all the buildings.
I hope this game gets an ambient sound mod.
Exactly...those details were pure terror..
I felt the same about re2 remake. The zombie moans mixed with the crows and the wind still gives me creeps.
Wouldve been nice to see shinji Mikami get his hands on re2 and re3 remake.
yes , sounds in original games is creepier , better
I have an issue with my sound just being bland. Ps4 pro and the sounds that should be intense sometimes have a weak punch or even quiet moments between the speakers. My system is atmos and sounds great for other games.
Yes! I feel way more immersed in the original
I don't like how all games these days are muting weapon sounds, they are meant to be mini explosions not a cough.
Well COD for once actually has real sounding guns so thats a big improvment and you have battlefield which sounds are obviously really good
@@anthivity297 bfv gun sounds were a big downgrade compared to bf1 or bf4.
9:52 what i like about the old resident evil 3 is the ambient sound. you can actually hear the zombie sound in the background making the environment is more scarier than the remake but that's my opinion
Agreed
Well it can be scarier but the re-imagining is so good too.
They needn't reimagine anything they just had to put better graphics and add locations like the RE hd but changing the camera.
dont forget the howling wind or the epic music when nemesis showed up in the old game.
And foot steps sound as well...
@JonsReef it's a remake not remastered.
I hosnestly can't imagine RE3 without Jill revisiting RCPD and seeing the S.T.A.R.S. ICONIC photo on the wall of her office 😔😔😔😔😔

I always thought the sounds of the zombies moaning in the distance with the wind in the original really staged the scene, very creepy. The remake seems silent.
Just a lazy work.
While the game is still good, they really should've stuck with the same team that brought us RE2R. I gotta say, CAPCOM got a little bit lazy again.
Typical Capcom, they reinvent themselves and blow us away, then get complacent and churn forgettable bullshit for a couple years. It's like a 5 year cycle with them, particularly with the RE franchise. So 2025 we're gonna have another incredible RE game haha

Ryan Morley I agree the sewer part was the worst I hated it too
@@ryanmorley8211 bruh how is re 2 remake disappointing
Also re3 was like a mini open world in my opinion
Agree of you
It was the absolute dumbest decision to focus on Resistance, a game nobody wanted, instead of taking their time like they did with RE2. And they never should’ve had a B team working on this game.

That’s awesome, congrats on learning 3d modeling and texturing and pursuing that, I’m learning that now too. It’s a lot but it’s powerful.
The missing details, characters, and places of this remake compared to the original RE3: Nemesis:
In terms of location:
- You can’t explore the RPD station as Jill (which all of us expecting and kinda disappointing).
In terms of weapons:
- Gatling gun,
- Usable M66 rocket launcher (used by Carlos at the beginning).
In terms of Jill’s costume:
- No Regina outfit from the Dino Crisis.
- No biker costume (black leather suit & red belt).
- No dancer costume (white disco suit).
- No police officer uniform (blue police shirt, dark blue shorts)
- No blue blouse & black pants.
- No blue tank top, blue skirt, and brown boots.
In terms of enemies and bosses:
- No crows
- No brain suckers
- No giant spiders
- No small spiders
- No hunter gammas (mini version like in the original RE3)
- No grave digger boss battle
- No boss battle with Nicholai (in a helicopter)
- No Nemesis second form (the one that has stripped off torse revealing the tentacles).
Others:
- Less gory (which is disappointing, that’s one of the factors that makes this game great, ex: when the zombies are blasted by the explosion their bodies are mutilated apart, when nemesis is gonna finish Jill with his tentacle, it doesn’t let you see it, when the hunter’s gonna finish Jill/Carlos, they just die from the scratch instead of their heads being cut off).
Zombies no longer spit acid
No blue herbs
No poison status
Fewer puzzles
I can make pretty sure the same list of things missing in RE2 Remake from the original. But no one pointed them out.
But as much as they cut things, they added new things and you can't just ignore all of it.
- Jill's apartment
- New epic intro
- New take on Raccoon City, we got to see it in the middle of the outbreak, people dying, running we hear the police calling to shelter, gunshots, helicopters, explosions, screams
- New train station area
- New sewer area with much more intimidating Gamma hunters and a good backstory to them if u read the files.
- Brainsuckers are in the game with their own area in the power station
- Brad is given justice
- EXPANDED HOSPITAL with good lore to it
- MORE Nemesis backstory if you read the files
- Marvin's wound origins, tragic
- More connexion with RE2
- More interesting Nemesis, with new weapon each time, and new forms
- Carlos is way better with new personality
- Mikhael's scene is epic
- Nicolai is a total dick
- Tyrell is actually used and has more screen time
- Murphy is there, Dario, Kendo is new
- Clock Tower and Park are there actually, just not explorable
- Dead Factory got mixed the new NEST
- Lickers !
- Epic final combat with Nemesis
- THIS IS A DAMN REMAKE NOT A REMASTER AND THE DEVS MADE A GOOD JOB ! IF YOU WANT THE ORIGINAL GO PLAY IT !

Graphics and sound mean nothing if there's no substance or incentive to play for extended periods. A game doesn't need good graphics to be good. Ever.
I really dislike how zombie animations don‘t blend in with physics. If they walking against they wall they‘ll walk on the spot instead of falling against it
Re3 physics and ragdoll is downgraded from re2
Drew Does Stuff How could it be for console limitations if these physics were in re 2 remake that had a very good performance and graphics even for the basic consoles ?
Drew Does Stuff it can’t be cause of console limitations, RE2 worked perfectly fine and imo the graphics look better than re3. And TLOU 2 (thanks to covid, whenever it releases) looks fucking amazing and is gonna be on a base PS4, from what I heard. It’s using the PS4 power to the max
Re2 remake 4th survivor had a lot zombies there yet still deliver good performance on console
@@lukaiankamara8425 You're forgetting that RE 3 had to handle a much larger map with much more zombies walking around and more variety of enemies.
Re2 Remake is superb. Don't let the fact that Re3 is not better, because back in the day Re2 was better received than Re3 anyway.
Tenryuu Black Rose to short for a 60 dollar game.
I hate how they took out the Clock Tower, Dead Factory, Raccoon City Park and the gravedigger boss fight.
Those were the things I was the most excited to see remade .
You got that right, same here
If they cut the Hospital or the RPD and put Clock Tower and The Park, people would still say they miss them and that they were their favorite part of the game.

I read what you said and you do have a valid point on what you said...
Capcom can't please everyone that's for sure. In RE2 Remake they play it safe, and didn't wanna go wild. But in this RE3 Remake, since they announced it, they clearly said that they are gonna change a lot and take more freedom "re imagining" the story. And they did a fantastic job. This remake..THIS REMAKE. But I will never miss fixed cameras
I think the remakes are fine. I personally think the problem is that some people are too picky. I agree that they should have kept the same locations and that the game seems a little short (but I don't think the original was very long either), but some of these comments are ridiculous and it honestly feels like people are just looking for a reason to complain.

@Fuffe Is a diferent scene with a diferent context involving an helicopter
I like more the old ambient..the sound of nemesis, the moaning of the zombies, when you are running in the streets and hear the change of the music (meanwhile you are jumping on your chair for the scare) I think that was lost in the remake
i kinda wished that Nemesis had scary music playing when he appears.
Him popping up randomly without music is scarier
Jesus those gun sounds are so trash. Yes, OG RE3 sound dated but they still do the job. RE3 remake sound so flat and unimpactful. Honestly, I had the same issue with RE2 remake.
RE3 makes a pistol sound like a shot gun and a shotgun sound like your lightly tapping a frying pan with a piece of metal
exactly what I was thinking
And there’s no echo effect. I would think guns would sound larger than life in an empty city.
Agreed. The sound design is garbage on the remake. Re2 lacked atmosphere. Zombies used to sound terrifying. Now they sound annoying. No iconic music that made the original terrifying. I didn't like RE2 remake cos of the lack of faithful atmosphere.
@@madzmedia2 Saying RE2 lacked atmosphere is just straight up wrong. And all of the classic music could be used in RE2 with the 2 dollar dlc lmao

@Chris™ but IT IS BAD... for any fan who played the original , it IS REALLY BAD ...
@Chris™ Just read the comments, man.
As a remake, RE3 fails in many ways, but as a game on it's own it's pretty good. It's a rather short experience, but it's still good and grips you well enough to care about what's going on and find enjoyment in it.
10:53 no sound, no feeling the remake isn't scary at all
The music was muted.

The first encounters with Nemesis are scary... like RE2, the scary parts later on in the game become more action filled. Capcom does a WONDERFUL job portraying a painting, once they finished it, it seems they tweak it once its almost finished.
Not complaining, im already on my third play through!
There is one puzzle actually but yeah kind of disappointed there isn't more of them
Harry Potter wow dead meme much? Also I’m only 14 a zoomer and I gotta agree with this guy
Hope capcom creates new dlcs for both the park and the clock tower parts. It feels incomplete without them.
I wish they hadn't cut out the choices, or how the Nemsis stalks you. Mercenaries too. If they had kept that, I wouldnt have minded them cutting out those areas.
The original games sounds so much more raw. And it sounds like I’m actually walking through a mostly deserted city.
Resident evil 3 remake left out sooo much...the parking, police station, clock tower, graveyard, park,
Damn everywhere Jill , in original, went Nemesis followed.
The new nemesis had three things I didn't like: he had elongated teeth, he transformed toooo soon, and the way he said STARS didn't feel as creepy
Nemsis is really disappointing compared to the original .. if only they took more time to make the game longer and complete

RE3 was the first Resident Evil game I played, of course I'm hyped for the remake. Unfortunately it is missing a lot of content from the original. They should make a "Director's Cut" or "Definitive Edition" for the remake.
