Excellent way of explaining visual field loss. I have zero peripheral vision or visual field due to retinitis pigmentosa. People ask me to explain it all the time and I’m going to show them this video. Thank you!!
Thank you David for watching and especially your feedback. I really wanted to keep it simple, just explaining what 20° field vision might look like. Even though it is just the opposite of what I have, there still are so many variables that I did not include in the video like sparkles, pixelation‘s, flashes, spinning colors and starbursts etc. but I thought too help with a measurable scale, it would be easiest to use a Clock face looking at the 12 and seeing one minute to one side of the 12 and one minute to the other side of the 12 and that almost measures exactly 20° of a 300 and 60° circle. I hope that this description does the condition of tunnel vision, justice. Thanks again for connecting and have a great evening! Love, Beverly
Paul's Blind Soup for the Soul thanks Paul. I have been really wanting to do a short video on field restriction and legal blindness. I still don’t like being in front of the camera but I enjoy discussing blind topics, especially if they can be clarified. I hope this one can help some VIPs understand better, what 20° of visual field can look like thanks again for connecting and have a great week! Love, Beverly
Si, if i'm correct you can purchase and legally own a gun sooner than that anyone is going to be legally accepted for visiual loss or blindness? Thank you again for the video Beverly!
Hi Angela, I think you grasped exactly what I was attempting to convey. The united states gun laws are protected by the second amendment of our constitution and there is no pre-qualification for physical nor mental disabilities. Mini States have an acted restrictions on the distribution of permits to people who are legally blind, feeling that because of site loss, the person could not possibly handle a weapon. I personally have no problem with this thought process unless there are no restrictions given to persons with numerous other disabilities. Since our gun laws are so liberal, it is our constitutional right to purchase and on a fire arm. Personally I think that we should be scrutinizing mental health disabilities and even other significant physical disabilities and I would not mind if that scrutiny extended to persons who are blind or severely visually impaired. As it stands now, yes, I could go purchase and on a fire arm. This is really such a political hot topic and it is quite interesting when one examines all of the various regulations and rules that are arbitrarily imposed upon the blonde and visually impaired. Thanks for a great question. Love, Beverly
