@Cole Park I was HYPING AR back in 2009 after watching Dennou coil, didn't even bat an eye at VR back then. I remember reading Ori Inbars blog religiously, and being disappointed by his estimate of at least 10 years before AR would be feasible. Vuzix and Lumus were already making waveguides, how could it possibly be 10 years! Now, ten years later and we're still not there.. At least the smartphone revolution fueled the rise of VR. It's a big problem, but the payoff is massive. I hope I'm alive by the time it happens. Suddenly I feel old :(
@Cole Park Yeah, actually I'm hyped about Valves rumored headset for the pass through AR possibilities! I have a feeling that VR won't break through until it's basically mixed reality. We need to see our hands, bodies and friends in there, and they need to be able watch us traversing another world. That said, I enjoy the state of the medium right now. But I'm one of those dirty technophiles ;D
@@superheavymetaldemon Sweet! Can't think of a better way to enjoy that piece of art :) (except maybe next to a Japanese shrine on a misty day in a pair of AR glasses!)
@Cole Park At least give the first 5 episodes a go. It flips out towards the end, but most of it is pretty good! It makes you think about AR and digital worlds in new ways :)
He also said the technology does not yet exist for an important part of ar.
I got some vuzix can't wait till February!!
I mount my iPhone on my forehead as AR Glasses today. It's already exist!
can you say google glass
hmm interesting
I knew all this 10 years ago.
