It's great to see a prototype even though it isn't yet a product that allows "regular people" to finally understand a small part of why we love XR so much. If current VR and AR glasses are any indication, you'll be able to buy them at prescription strength or be able to buy 'aftermarket' lenses you can add to it. Considering it's a lot closer to actual glasses compared to most things done so far & meta likes money as much as the next US company, its safe to assume you will be able to just order them at prescription strength.
VR, even if you make the glasses 50 grams, or whatever, will still and always be a niche industry, he should focus on making bulk vr devices, but with amazing views, for the few % of people that actually love VR, most people will reject Mark Zuckerbers idea, and if he doesn't stop, he going bankrupt.

This goes to show how companies continually misuse a persons information without any consent or accountability. If she did happen to give consent it was probably in the companies sneaky form of terms of use policies. This is where you have to agree to what they want to do to your information to use their service. If you don't agree you can't use the service, or it is an implied agreement if you use or continue to use their services. So many cunning ways companies abuse consumer data and protect themselves at the same time. This is why cyber and violent crimes are so rampant. Why is all of her information readily available online for the glasses to even access? Why are companies allowed to get away with a blanket disclosure statements knowing the danger of their products? Not only do they know the danger, they don't make ncessary corrections, but make billions off of the harm it will bring to the general public. And the regulators let it slide until massive devistation has been achieved. This person literally showed Meta and the general public the major flaws in this device. Let's see what Meta does to fully correct it.

Wow, somebody got a gym subscription since their court appearance. Besides that i hate the usual god awful marketing bs we get from all American tech companies, if anything it just makes me more skeptical about the claims made, but if the glasses really do what those renders show (the first "acceptable FOV" and refresh rate AR glasses?) and come at a price of 1k or below then they might have something to finally push the industry forward a bit again. If it's going to try directly compete with HoloLens & Apple Vision Pro or whatever (read: cost 3k-6k) then this is pretty much a waste of time and resources. They are aware of the form factor and consumer pricing. They aren't shipping these until they can get them about 30% smaller and within the price range of flagship smartphones or Laptop (roughly $1200-$1500. This won't be a consumer product until 3-5 years from now. Beyond that, the price will continue to drop as new iterations arrive, and competitors reveal their offerings. Meta is leading the charge.

This goes to show how companies continually misuse a persons information without any consent or accountability. If she did happen to give consent it was probably in the companies sneaky form of terms of use policies. This is where you have to agree to what they want to do to your information to use their service. If you don't agree you can't use the service, or it is an implied agreement if you use or continue to use their services. So many cunning ways companies abuse consumer data and protect themselves at the same time. This is why cyber and violent crimes are so rampant. Why is all of her information readily available online for the glasses to even access? Why are companies allowed to get away with a blanket disclosure statements knowing the danger of their products? Not only do they know the danger, they don't make ncessary corrections, but make billions off of the harm it will bring to the general public. And the regulators let it slide until massive devistation has been achieved. This person literally showed Meta and the general public the major flaws in this device. Let's see what Meta does to fully correct it.

Besides that i hate the usual god awful marketing bs we get from all American tech companies, if anything it just makes me more skeptical about the claims made, but if the glasses really do what those renders show (the first "acceptable FOV" and refresh rate AR glasses?) and come at a price of 1k or below then they might have something to finally push the industry forward a bit again.
If it's going to try directly compete with HoloLens & Apple Vision Pro or whatever (read: cost 3k-6k) then this is pretty much a waste of time and resources.

Hololens and apple vision pro are full headsets. I doupt theyre going to get people to walk around in those. It's already better imo
They are aware of the form factor and consumer pricing. They aren't shipping these until they can get them about 30% smaller and within the price range of flagship smartphones or Laptop (roughly $1200-$1500. This won't be a consumer product until 3-5 years from now. Beyond that, the price will continue to drop as new iterations arrive, and competitors reveal their offerings. Meta is leading the charge.
up till now i like most thought ar is a bit of a gimmic but even with the quest 3 i can now see how ar could really be the future :-)
