Can these smart glasses do what Google couldn’t?

- Focals smart glasses by North use some of the tech previously seen in Intel’s Vaunt glasses. They project a laser onto your eye and show notifications, map directions, and text messages. Unlike Google Glass though, the Focals do not have any cameras. We reviewed the new smart glasses and found that while the technology might be the best yet, it’s far from perfect.

I think this is the best integration of smart glasses I've seen so far. Of course the kinks should be worked out and I also think maybe adding one ear bud to go along with the ring would be helpful so that you can have some privacy when interacting with the glasses in phone calls and such.
What does internet not forget and what did verge do!???
Verge deletes negative comments, the saying "The internet will not forget" meaning people have seen it and when the comment is removed, they won't forget it.
The number of times i would fall when i wore this is ungodly
The next-gen ones should have a spy-camera with recording and picture clicking available through the ring. That would be so awesome...
You mean like Google glass
No, Ashley, I don't like them...
The greatest advantage with this tech utte that it saves your neck. We're always looking down at our phones and it's causing us serious neck and back problems. Having our screen be on eye sight without having to hold it up is a huge deal
"I'm always running late, and I'm on the subway and needing to know the time. Now, I don't have to take my phone out of my bag just to get that information."

Smartwatches: Am I a joke to you?
when she said "laser" my immediate thought was "to destroy my enemies" LMAO
If you can control it with a smart watch rather than a ring I’m sold.
The laser reflects off the glass lens, passed your iris/lens INTO THE BACK OF YOUR EYE BALL and stops at the macula, not just "hits your eye: 1:23. The laser is being beamed into your eye ball.
It works the same as a red dot sight, what’s the problem?

Where's the negative comments?
Lasers hitting my eye 24/7? I'm good.
alpachinos the lasers don’t hit your eye, they hit a polymer coated spot on the lens and that reflects light toward you eye. Similar to the head-up display (HUD) in many cars.

I'm glad about how far the technology has become. It looks nice, and the effect looks pretty good too. I like the ring controller idea.
