*edit* - in most states purchasing 2 handguns triggers a report sent to the ATF. Some states do this for rifles but not most.

The cop asks about being stopped in Philly with one of the guns. Sounds to me like they are running down leads about something else but they are using this rule to see the guns. Let me know what you think about my theory if you would please. I am retired LEO, this sounds like a way to get around a warrant when trying to build your case.

In the 70's I had a couple friends from Czech., they told me how after WWII there were a lot of guns that had been acquired by people after the war.(From armies marching through their country, a lot of weapons were discarded or lost.) They said that the Soviet Union sent out "registration cards" where you were asked if you had any weapons and information about them. No big deal. Then after a while 3 NKV policemen showed up in a car and 2 went to the front door and one to the back. They then asked to see the weapons and if you said you didn't have them they asked where they were and sent one of them to go investigate your story while 2 of them stayed at your house. Did you notice that there were 3 law officers at this person's house? This is how it begins.

@PJA Unless you live utterly off-the-grid, (which you don't, since you are commenting on YT), you should probably know that with your name and current address I could have your entire life on my computer screen inside of 15 minutes, including most likely how many guns you own, (and which gun is your favorite).
Do you really think the Federal Government can not do the same? Only quicker?

@@looneyburgmusic not everyone puts their life on social media. While you could get my addresses you wouldn't know if I had guns or not. Long or short .

In an ideal world, that headline would read: "ATF Attempt to Conduct Surprise Inspection at Man's Home without Warrant, Get Front Door Shut in their Faces"

In an ideal world, the fact that an ATF agent showed up at a person's door with no evidence of wrong-doing and had a list of that person's firearms and serial numbers (a de facto registry) would force a major lawsuit against the ATF. A lawsuit so large that the US Government had no choice but to shutter their doors.

As a police officer, these agents would be asked to leave. Don’t answer the door when you see ATF at your doors….

Never open the door and if they don't have a warrant, tell them to come back with a warrant or speak to your attorney.
