Man I love what the Koreans are doing. Kia used to be the bottom tier of new car purchases, the "I just need something with 4 wheels that can get me to work" pick. Now look at em. Really neat stuff. The STinger is a kickass package, and now these EVs are some real competition for some American brands
I remember when they first came out. If you bought one you got the second for free. Or almost free. They have came a long way. 🇺🇸
You mean what the Germans are doing. Kia, Hyundai and therefore Genesis employed hundreds of engineers from VAG group and BMW and then they completely changed. For example the Hyundai N division sports cars are developed by ex BMW M division engineers.
@@derbigpr500 I mean what Korean BRANDS are doing to be clear. If that means hiring the best talent from VAG and BMW to elevate their brands (obviously understanding the value and talent they bring and paying them enough to come over), then good on em! Those are good business decisions

Fair play to Kia for putting on a good show. Have to say they are taking their design language to a new level. Always liked the Sportages and the cee'ds, specially after watching them on Top gear car rugby challenge. Kia are making some cracking cars at the minute. I guess these days every manufacturer has to do their best to stay in the game.
Someone find this gent a 90 horse corolla and let him loose! (LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing such an obviously skilled wheelman learning new things). Sliding goes against every fiber of the "clean lap time" psychology. Most fast track folks have to fool the brain to adapt. "This is ok this is ok this is ok!!" Well done Misha! EV response and TQ is an additional massive challenge. No feel, no sound and a loss of the little tactile indicators of the slide. Super fun to watch this. Cheers Sir.
It's 585 on front plus the rear. It's most likely something like 320-360 when rwd alone. It's not like an M5 that has a single engine producing 600 hp where you select the distribution :-)

I’ve never driven an EV but I can imagine no flywheel inertia gives you a lot more to think about when trying to keep an angle.

I think you have to steer in at less of an angle in the ev's, because they deliver so much power instantly that you otherwise just spin out
There was an EV Cadillac competing in FD for some time but it seemed like they couldn't figure it out but I loved that they tried

I don’t know the exact power output specs of this EV6 GT, but I don’t think that it has 585 hp just on the rear axle ( 4:38 ). The fiinal power output is combined with front and rear motors.
I definitely want to try one.

Here in Canada we don't get the rwd Stinger only AWD. Hyundai Kia do some strange stuff. We also don't get the 4cyl turbo model anymore.
This new Kia's are special beasts, now you need to take both to the track for full send xD

Universal knowledge: hit the gas before you trigger the slide and by before I mean almost at the same time but not. Make sure the transmission is loaded before initiating the slide. I see you lifting but I know why, it's bcuz you're a driver not a drifter, like me. but if you want to drift you need to go against everything you know as a driver and become the drifter, Basically drive bad on purpose🤷
Kia warranty is hard work,2 week wait to book in,2 week 2 wait for parts,2 week wait to re-book in to have parts fitted.
Love Kia and Hyundai atm, two brands that are producing quality cars for fair prices right now

I believe manufacturers will have to put artificial gears into EVs, because the throttle pedals do not have enough levels to map the over 450kW of instant power. Or maybe some adjustments to throttle response that make it non-linear.
And also Stinger has so much better cockpit and looks compared to EV6 that has that "Look, I am a modern EV".
Looks like me trying to pass the licenses in GranTourismo. Failing time and again and again but at some time it will work.
Wish everyone takes Kia as an example for the events! Also, any chance you're going to borrow a Kia Stinger for 2-3 laps next year? Should we poke Kia? :P
Misha try drifing some opd school drift cars like the miata,is300,350z,g35,sc300,any s chasis, basically any entry level drift car. Im not eure how those cars drift but i know any of the cars i just listed eould get down on that mini drift course. Ofcouse they have to have a 3rd pedal (not because its easier. But because you realy have to use that 3rd pedal to make some of these underpowered cars drift in the dry. If its wet there are no problems.
I just want the EV6 GT powertrain in the Stinger GT body
No matter what people say about throttle response , that ev is clearly not well calibrated or balanced. No expirenced driver should take that much time to get it together.
Compared to your previous EV video the sound of the cars itself was super, not over the top, smooth.
The KIA Stinger looks amazing, the EV6 not that much, but that's personal preference!

Looks like a great time! Just wondering what the vibration noise was when you were drifting the EV6?
It usually sounds like this when the front axle has a lot of side-slip. This happens when you try to initiate the drift only with steering and not enough throttle.

Thats the tires chattering on the edge of grip, I can tell you it even happens on a miata :)
Oh and it can be the front and rear tires too, sometimes even at the same time

11:30 why is the front vibrating while understeering? That dynamic isn't reassuring and the plastic dashboard is amplifying it.
