@@ahmadtarek7763 wow that's actually a good idea, maybe a mix of a horde / settlement faction that combines the best of both, not forcing you to play in a certain way but instead gives you freedom to say "fuck occupying shit, more armies instead"

Its about the different Perspectives, so at first he meant its good enough to get out there and break the siege, in the battle he meant the army is not good enough to just rush at them or let them come and finish them off, he needed to harass them with grom and the hag, with a doomstack he could just let them come and beat them without casulties.
I think it was more like: "Luckily this army is pretty strong, so we can actually try to break out and do something." "But the composition isn't all that great."
@@joeosthoff1109 Nah, I think he just glanced over the units and saw some good units, but was more focused on the situation, I highly doubt there's anything more to it cuz it really isn't a good army. No Greenskin army is strong enough to get out of that by fighting anyway.

When that -25% movement range event arbitrarily hit you, I was reminded of all the cheats the AI tries to throw at the player. It's always timed "perfectly" too: Just about to finish off an enemy? They get confederated by someone you're not at war with. Just about to conquer the last settlement to complete a province, or perhaps use as a sack settlement for leveling? Your ally, or non-aggression cohort takes it instead; and they're not the same race so you can't confederate them. Just about to catch an army that's been running away from you? Movement penalties out of nowhere. Almost have public order under control? Unhappy populace event for no reason.
funny that you meantioned that, beacuse i got that but the game like went "you can either have public order which you need, or how about CASH?" lets just say, there are alot of rebellions i need to handle every turn :)
confederations happen because when you are close to eliminating a faction, they are significantly weakened thus easier to confederate by the AI so not really all that random
What a lot of people don't understand is that the AI, well at least in the grand campaign map, have machine learning capabilities. If you defeat a much larger army? They'll bring more elite troops. You hold a city without losing it ever? They'll bring more then 3 armies to deal with it. They lost to an ambush in a particular area? It'll now avoid said area or at least check for ambushes. There's other things too. Now, is this some technology that continues to grow? No. From what I've seen at least, it's only for the campaign you're currently on. It's similar to procedural generation and how that works, but it's more with the AI and what it does/thinks. I mean, just think about it. How would you even randomize a vast amount of AI factions to do similar to what the player does? There's some hardcode still so obviously it's not going to be smart. But either way, it does very much so have machine learning capability.

that campaign is finished. even playing perfectly order tide will probably just come down and send you on the run again, till eventually you either get cornered by ten million order tide stacks, run out of money, or get worn down slowly... honestly it looks like it was set up, imo. it's very hard to lose late game, and then even more so on easy unless you literally are just playing end turn simulator....
Tribes from the north, chaos and beastmen armies coming in from everywhere on the map for example, that would be more fun. Not played too well, but honestly grom's campaign can be difficult, at the first 50 turns I was getting raided by: Norsca, ~10 stacks of high elves, the dwarves, bretonnia and the wood elves.
Saw the thumbnail and thought it was playing as the Empire. Video starts and I find out that no, the settlement is under siege from 4 dwarf stacks, two empire stacks and there are like three high elf stacks on the way and a third empire stack around the corner. Jesus fucking Christ. End times.
There should totally be the option to raze your own settlements somehow. Scorched Earth policy and all that. So if you know you are going to need to migrate and want to make sure the enemy cannot make much use of your stuff you can just burn your settlements to the ground before moving on.
This one was oddly enough really fun to watch. I was on the edge of my seat each turn waiting to see if the next turn would be the one where you get swarmed and crushed. Hilarious and very entertaining.
This just made me want to see an orc campaign where you take no settlements, just go around raiding and looting like Chaos or Beastmen, as it seems they are pretty good at that. Cause of how it works you can hold a settlement for a few turns at most to recruit and replenish and such though, but no hanging about, see how long you can go, or if you can destroy the order tide.
There's no way in hell you can reach turn 201 while playing on easy(not even mentionning save scumming*) and be in such a dire situation, I swear these people set up their game just to give legend a challenge.
Damn legend this reminds me of your Orion coming to America saving your disaster campaign and how it turned into a epic war of the beard livestreams hahaha. Bit of a shame this wasnt on legendary, was hoping for a simmilar scenario.
Oh how many times has this happened to me when I am playing certain factions. Everything is going great until dwarves, empire, elves and brettonia declare war on me and dog pile with endless ENDLESS stacks. Eventually I just give up after fighting non-stop 3 and 4 on 1 stack battles for hours and hours on end. They've GOT to fix this.
For me is kinda fun. Rising tensions between dwarfs/empire vs my imrik play through. Never wanted a treaty with me, and as I was sweeping the southern deserts , shuddenburg with 3 settlements declared war on me. I'm rank 3, 1,2 being dwarves and empire. The dwarves joined their side. At that points it's literally world war. Empire joined in after 15turns. As I kept bribing them not to with influence. Turning point was the grind fest near the eight peaks orc mountains. I grinded like 3 stacks battles with my 1,2 stacks non stop. My home province nearby was recruiting non stop. Truly war times. After 15 turns, I stood on top countless dwarf bodies about to grab silver peak, the dwarf home base. Wrestling to rank 2. Empire joined in. But my 4 stacks led by alith anar have finished sweeping dark elves to the norsca territories right at the empire northern coast line :). Fought some skirmishes and they send 4 stacks trying to corner me. I ran back to the norsca waste hoping them to chase and suffer attrition. But basically a stalemate. But this has kept the empire from sending reinforcements to the dwarfs. And on Dino continent. My third army wing is making headways to conquer all that lands taken by the empire. ^^ oh ya, I was curb stomping respanse bretonnia at the deserts as well. Ending the kroqgar rebellion. ^^. War on all fronts.
should be renamed - "How the orcs survived, when the world hunted them" - I like to roleplay too. Like the orcs fleeing far south. The dwarves and humans chasing them out, like they are a plague.
It’s when I see these kind of campaigns that I realise I shouldn’t be so purist in my campaigns and let it go if things go wrong instead of restarting if some events ruin my plans at low to mid term... it can become very interesting far later to restart from an other region.
Hey legend I have an idea for a campaign. It's basically clan moulder before it's released: pick eshin, build food (but don't conquer) till you can have 4 shadowy dealings, find hell pit, and take it with the shadowy dealing, abandon flayed rock, and play from up there. Also good relationship with moulder and monsters on every army, not full stacks but some of them
On easy difficulty. With one settlement. And he didn't even equip the troll hag with Blacktoof's staff. Everything about this feels like someone that just picked up WH2 on the recent sale and clearly doesn't know what they're doing yet

Art of cheese
'The Cheese of War'
@@warsmithgalvinc4151 That got a genuine laugh out of me, well done.
Legend: Surrounded by cca 8 fullstacks
Also Legend: "So, after we finish these guys..."
10:36 best part and Legends couple seconds reaction. We all started not as pros.
I would expect that the player only turned it down to easy after getting into a hole.
@@robbievulcan9564 exactly what I was thinking
My first game was on very high, never played easier, and always sufer(
You know, the really impressive part is how hellbend the whole Ordertide was to chase Grom across the planet like a animal.
Humans, dwarves and elves all united in the hunt for a fat gobbo. Truly a heartwarming story.
Dude when that loaded in I spit my soda on my monitor, thats a disaster alright.
I just bursted into laught yelling "what is that?"
I loved that laugh when he saw the difficulty
@48:40
That moment when armies from the Empire, Dwarfs, and High Elves are all marching together, hot on your trail...through the middle of the goddamn desert, so you flee through Khemri's capital region.
I actually got really in to this. - Even the parts that might be considered slow.
Easily could go more rounds into this campaign, it's intense.
that campaign is finished. even playing perfectly order tide will probably just come down and send you on the run again, till eventually you either get cornered by ten million order tide stacks, run out of money, or get worn down slowly... honestly it looks like it was set up, imo. it's very hard to lose late game, and then even more so on easy unless you literally are just playing end turn simulator....
Man I would watch a movie about this. Grom and his misadventures of finding a new home.
I'm imagining the thing and it's glorious.
Do a live stream of this campaign, its a very interesting scenario
This.
Second, this is fun :D
We need a real Chaos Tide, the end time shouldn't be human goggle up entire world and start the Warhammer 40K.
that's what third game is for.
Yep, let's remember how annoying where the huns in attila, with that slow-ass growth rate
Hard to balance, they would need to change mechanics. The way it works now means a strong chaos event makes empire pretty much unplayable.
Tribes from the north, chaos and beastmen armies coming in from everywhere on the map for example, that would be more fun. Maybe changing/balancing depending on where the player is, so its a bit of a build up and you see the other factions stuggle and die first and get a taste of your impending doom.
16:58 "That's a nice Karak you have there. Would be shame if something... happened to it."
my max quality increases every time i refresh
This guy is absolutely amazing! I wish I had a disaster campaign to send him.
everybody gangsta until legend says campaign instead of battle
"If we get caught in the underway we could beat anything"-legend
5 sec later also legend- "yeaaa no" proceeds to run away
Like 48 minutes in and there are just so many armies streaming after him, they just like "ey ey, why are you running?"
10:36 playing on easy difficulty
22:51 recruiting regular trolls
1:13:34 making a giant doomstack
....

....
times are changing
No one else fell for it? Damn.
Grom first few step to start in ME:
1- Destroy Parravon
2- Defeat Skarnik and confederate, take his spider
3- Migrate into the badlands, confederate the Mutiny bois, Wurrzag and Grimzgor.
4- Defeat the Dwarf, take their biggest trophy profit from that 20% construction cost reduction.
I had success steamrolling up to Louen and taking Bretonnia as my home provinces and staging ground to invade the High Elves. The more I went east, the more I was bothered by Skaven and the Empire so I elected to just ignore them and thankfully the VC took out Karl for my victory obj
Grom strategy outline for ME: Do whatever you want, he is super strong and recipe spam takes care of economy.
Dont even migrate to badlands, literally go into the elve island after skarsnik, get your stone trolls unbreakable and enjoy
@@quasarlgq Yeah I literally won the campaign by accident on turn 80. Took out the bretts near me, then sailed across to kill The high elves on their little island. The unbreakable trolls plus regen gobbos magnum pizza recipe is just super strong, better once I got the other ingredient slots unlocked for the double shot archers with the armor piercing scrap buff.
You are assuming skarsnik didnt get wounded by turn 5 and lost his starting units
Never really even got to look closely at Sudenberg, it's a totally unique looking settlement with the sheer-cliffed desert walls with neat houses built all up on it. Looks really neat with the dark stone walls contrasting the oasis-vibes it has going. It's in the ass-edge of the map so unless you're playing Tik-taq-to you literally never go there and probably never see it if they even live, love the detailing they put into even the little stuff.
To be honest, ending in that situation is even more amazing that saving it. It was the loeral definition of “ what the ordertide does to you. “
This episode was the greatest one yet, I really prefer the disaster campaigns where you play mostly on the campaign map, and not just 4 battles on a turn end and thats it :)
Jeez, XD When Legend has to spend 50 mins+ just running away, you know the title isn't click bait.
Very interesting vid, Awesome stuff!
I'm so confused
how did he survive 201 turns in the first place?
and what made him wait til literally the end to send the campaign in?
In my headcannon he started losing a lot and was desperate, then got to the final city and gave up
Looks honestly like a setup to send in to me. ^^ Grom level 30 after 200 turns seems low. Especially with the lack of map exploration.
@@soris1062 like legend once said, he doesn't care much if its a fake disaster or not, as long as it makes for an entertaining video/campaign. and I agree with that
@@soris1062 I saw someone claiming that they were the person that sent this in the comments somewhere and they said that they are garbage and don't understand the game
@@ProfessorHanger I'm not good at the game either but fuck I can at least do better
Actually, I'd love to see a multi-episode series of you trying to defeat the Order in this campaign.
-"you're safe here..."
This is obviously some new usage of the word "safe" that I was previously unaware of. :)
THAT'S NOT RETREATING, THAT'S FALLING BACK WITH STYLE
"What difficulty is this on" *clicks* *laughs hysterically* that was so funny lol
I don't care if this was a troll campaign or not, this video was great
41:12 is probably my favourite part. Scouting always pays off!
Man they should make a movie or a series from this disaster campaign xD Grom - Leader of the Lost Orcs!
Yes Grom was sitting around eating his meals then the Ordertide came. Now he sat his Throne and wants help. XD
Make a live on this. Would be a change from starting a new campaign.
Closing argument: "I will put it on easy for you, because thats where you belong"
Auch!
Something tells me this guy doesn't have too much experience playing this game
Nah, looks like a prepared disaster for Legend.
Erik Litsenius props picked it up with this update
Not played too well, but honestly grom's campaign can be difficult, at the first 50 turns I was getting raided by: Norsca, ~10 stacks of high elves, the dwarves, bretonnia and the wood elves.
Yah...just...wow.
@@ascendedbro1828 who would bother going 200 turns just to do that?
The dwarves when you were running away: STOP BLOWING UP MY SHIP!
There's no way in hell you can reach turn 201 while playing on easy(not even mentionning save scumming*) and be in such a dire situation, I swear these people set up their game just to give legend a challenge.
It would be fun that legend puts these save files into somewhere so that we can play it as well
Damn legend this reminds me of your Orion coming to America saving your disaster campaign and how it turned into a epic war of the beard livestreams hahaha.
I feel like he was playing on very hard, and once he got into that situation he turned it all down to easy
Probably
AI won't spawn armies like that on Easy
should be renamed - "How the orcs survived, when the world hunted them" - I like to roleplay too. Like the orcs fleeing far south. The dwarves and humans chasing them out, like they are a plague.
I like this, no specially scripted and set up anti-LoTW disaster, just a genuine disaster campaign where the Ordertide wrecked them.
It’s when I see these kind of campaigns that I realise I shouldn’t be so purist in my campaigns and let it go if things go wrong instead of restarting if some events ruin my plans at low to mid term... it can become very interesting far later to restart from an other region.
This was absolutely amazing. I would honestly multiple episodes of this nightmare campaign.
Grom be like: aight imma head out
I think the player lowered the difficulty when sending that to Legend. You can screw up as a new player... But lasting to 200 turns??
my absolute favorite episide of saving a disaster! so glad i managed to find it again!
Hey legend I have an idea for a campaign. It's basically clan moulder before it's released: pick eshin, build food (but don't conquer) till you can have 4 shadowy dealings, find hell pit, and take it with the shadowy dealing, abandon flayed rock, and play from up there. Also good relationship with moulder and monsters on every army, not full stacks but some of them
What the hell, it's turn 201 and Grom is 29?!?!?!
On easy difficulty. With one settlement. And he didn't even equip the troll hag with Blacktoof's staff. Everything about this feels like someone that just picked up WH2 on the recent sale and clearly doesn't know what they're doing yet
Definitely their first total war as well
@@Kuddochan he could have turned down the difficulty though right?
@@scutterybuttery449 it's on easy already...
That guy won't last 10 turns with the new save unless he seriously learn to play better.
"Asian territory, ashton territory.."
God, these subtitles.
Eshen territory yes, yes!
And here I thought we wouldn't see a worse campaign than that Cult of Sotek campaign where he got kicked out of Lustria. I'd say truth is stranger than fiction, but...ya know
Nicely done legend. Always play at the highest level you can, and you smash almost any situation.
I would love to see your own disaster campaign.
this happens all the time to me when i dont play humans/dwarves
When did you last play? Nowadays Grimgor destroys Dwarfs then Grimgor gets decimated by the Skaven tide of Eshin and Mors.
Papa Shango I Just finished a VH woodelves campaign where the dwarfs conquered all the way to the bottom edge of the map, even took out Last Guardians. I never even saw an orc faction other than the starting foe and rogue armies.
fantastic looting roadtrip for grom the paunch who appears to be guy fieri in his later years. Dining on, looting, and destroying everything in his path.
i have a feeling the campaign was always on easy... the order tide will get OP on any difficulty if you don't know how to stop it with diplomacy etc
"L'chaim to the wall here" thank you youtube for that wonderful translation
10:32 That laugh just killed the soul of my man.
Imagine marching across the entire world just to chase down a fat green guy and his pet rocks
i got my friend into total war using your videos. He has moved up to normal difficulty now when we play co op hoping to get him up to hard where i normally play. Keep up the good videos as always. i hope total war troy is good as i enjoyed three kingdoms
Nice impression of Grom's stomach at 30:22
That dirty laugh when he sees the difficulty rating XD Ye same mate, I guess after a few hundred hours in the game you kinda forget that there are people that have not played Total War games for a decade+.
Jayson Willman Hope you enjoy the game, that’s the most important thing lol. I played on easy for the first month or so I had it.
Maybe I've lucked out on my playthrough, it's turn 109. Reikland has been destroyed by the Vampire Counts, Couronne was destroyed by about turn 70 by the Orcs near Marienburg and Norsca. Karaz aKarak is unusually quiet and the high elves don't seem to want to venture from their land.
In relation to the easy difficulty thing; I'm wondering if he was playing on very hard initially, but dropped the difficulty down in order to try and save himself from that situation? I can't imagine someone could be that bad at the game lol.
I really enjoyed watching this one. It kinda felt like immortan joe chasing mad max thru the desert.
17:55
That would actually be an interesting challenge campaign
the worst disaster? A challenge to the big Cheeseman? That's the best thing ever!
"I'll just pop it down to easy for you, cuz that seemed to be where it belonged for you."
God, I just witnessed a murder here.
Should of ate recipe to counter the mystery meat
Anyone else get an ad for "War and Order" that's just a solid 10 seconds of a Rome II siege?
The one thing that would been perfect would been if Eltharion leads the lynchmob chasing Grom.
