Great lesson. What I'd really like to see, is a lesson explaining and demonstrating how single note funk riffs can be combined with chordal funk riffs, to create grooves which are greater than the sum of the parts!
These mixed funk riffs can be hard to understand, because the two guitar parts are playing complimentary rhythms, but the not the SAME rhythm...

Excellent tutorial - I've probably fished through like 10 tutorials on this single note funk style until I finally found one that actually covers the basics. This is perfect for someone like me who has just started playing rather than a lot of other videos that jump right in at the deep end and don't even say which notes they are fretting. Thanks a lot! Having a great time funking away!!!

I am new to guitar and been learning chords, but searching for this type of sound without knowing what to call it. I am really happy to find this. Thank you so much for sharing. Subscribed 😊

Counting out the beats really helps me get it quickly. More than that, you mention all the little details the way my guitar teacher used to - it's so refreshing to see real lessons on YT. Very few take the time to go through it all. The algorithm probably doesn't appreciate it -- but I sure do.
    Thank you - Instant subscribe.

Thank you so much for the lesson! I really appreciate the riffs. It's seems pretty easy but, actually it is mind blowing! The divisions of rhythm are very fun to play. Excellent! Tks again!

Another great lesson! I was jamming and following along.
Loved the explanations about ghost notes.
The first riffed seemed easy enough until I realized I was slacking with my rhythm :))

Great lesson dude thanks, do u use a compressor for all these funk licks?

Thanks James. I actually used the Archetype Cory Wong plug in on this video. Yes , I did have a little bit of compression on the sound. There’s a compressor pedal within the plug in. Very cool

@@RobHarrisGuitar I bought that plugin (also) because of your demo about it. It's really very good sounding and with a clever and easy interface actually.

Hey Rob, really diggin your channel! Just started picking up funk guitar these past few months and these lessons have helped a lot in my playing.
I was wondering if you could go through your chord progression for Cosmic Girl (Live in Verona) in a future video? Are you vamping on the root/octave in the chorus? That part sits in so well with the whole band. Cheers and happy holidays!

Sorry I didn't discover your work before. But now I am out here :-) Great video walkthrough. Maybe a bit more explanation about why you do the up/down strokes - when what and why #selfmadeguitarist
