I’m surprised that Chad is such a horrible speaker. I expected him to be confident, organized, and polished. He was none of those things. He sounded like a 3rd grader giving a book report.

He is just rambling... all of his books are fiction. He somehow twisted his own imagination into some sort of true belief. I am not making light of mental health issues but he is clearly delusional.

This' makes me feel even more strongly that Chad's kids are part of his cult and brainwashed to believe their dad. They know what had gone on but they feel their dad is justified because he is special and called to do the things he has done. I think they feel that he is being persecuted by LE because he is the chosen one.

I've read Chad's books. Happened on a large collection of them at a local thrift store soon after the case hit the news. (That's the only way I would have ever bought them.) I didn't read them until a couple of months ago.
This talk confirms what I felt while reading his books: he was (is?) convinced that his books were accurate portrayals of future events...starring his children.
By the way, the books were better written than I expected. Not to say they are good - just better than I would have guessed Chad was capable of producing. Having said that, his storytelling is very juvenile. There are huge gaps in logic and almost no character development. I have to laugh hearing him say the stories came to him in visions from Heavenly Father. I would think any self-respecting deity would have selected a more accomplished writer...
No mention of multiple probations or zombies - he obviously wrote the books before he, Julie Rowe and Eric Smith came up with those "doctrines".

Thanks much for your synopsis. I don't think I'll read the books, but interesting to hear they're not actually horribly written. Interesting how many people assume Chad is some sort of stupid, psychopath, caveman. We need to remember that anybody/everybody is capable of going down an evil pathway in life

Not a comment about this video but wanted to get this off my mind
..Lori Vallow's sister was a type 1 diabetic who took insulin. Insulin is something the pancreas makes in healthy individuals. Too much insulin causes shock and if untreated, death. As a nurse, when I did diabetic education with a patient... I wanted their family there too. It's not a leap to think Lori knew about insulin's toxicity and assumed it would not show up on autopsy since it's naturally occurring. Even if not to kill but at least to incapacitate. Just a thought I can't get off my mind...

When I listen to Chad speak, 1) I hear someone who wants to sell his books, 2) And someone who says words and throws out ideas until he gets the response he wants from his audience.
I'm more of a cynic. I don't hear Chad believing what he says per se. I hear him "selling" the New Jerusalem to gain an audience or following. I was brought up in a family in which I had some really charming uncles. One in particular could sell snow to the snowbound. I could trust him as far as i could throw him. He was an amazing con really. This is what I hear in Chad. He's selling what a group of people want to hear, and they're buying.
P.S. Makes me a bit nostalgic really. Listening to him as a kid was enlightening. I learned not to trust without question those who are too charming, and not to trust mob mentality.

You hit it exactly on the head, his ego and self opinion has been his drive to cover up his insecurities and inadequacies and he is so immature in his thinking that he rewrote his embarrassment and dumb choices to put a positive and prophetic spin on them, making it spiritual and tapping into the willingness to exploit parishioners, rather than to grow from life experiences and become a man. What a baby he is, but an evil, scheming, sadistic one at that!

One thing that struck me about this “family” of like minds, is when the children ( I think the two sitting in the front in the 48 hours interview), when chad’s son was giving the description of when he found his mom had passed, what his dad was saying and doing. The description of him “ pointing to her picture as he paces”, saying “she can’t be gone”…. was so eerie to me.
I was present when my mother’s spirit left her body, she layed her head on my dad as he was singing to her, and it was as if I felt as though her spirit went right through my dad as it left her body. I didn’t see it, it was just because of the reaction as my dad knew at the very moment.
I know not all people react the same, but it just seemed a strange thing not to want to hold her, or look at her, say her name. Chad just paced and pointed at her picture!
That image is hard to imagine, compared to how my dad reacted to his wife of 40+ years, who he loved dearly.
The daughter had said something about being her fathers voice. She has convinced herself that she has to be vigilant in proclaiming her dads innocent, so she will disregard any and all evidence that says otherwise.
my Mother has been gone for 6 years, and I still show more emotion when I think of her that her children or husband have shown!
Poor children. They have known only Chad and Tammy’s reality of the world. Breaks my heart. I pray that the Lord can help them to heal, and see the truth. I am not judging their family. Just comparing. Maybe I shouldn’t do that either. We grew up a pretty enmeshed family. Our mom was the one who kept us close. Once she passed, we were able to become adults and finish breaking that final hold she had on being dominant in our lives. My mother was a wonderful mother, but she had issues with letting her children go as adults and tried hard to keep tight reigns on us.
There is hope for these children to discover who they are, as independent adults. They can still live lives full of joy, but nothing can fix them until they face the reality of this situation they are in.

How did you get a hold of this? I’m impressed. I heard from a friend that Chad came off as very humble. I can see that because he is kind of awkward and has a soft voice. However, if you just listen to what he saying, it is deeply concerning how he claims these so-called prophecies are because the Lord sent him these crazy revelations. I can see why some people fell for him. It scares me how he comes across so humble. But what he says is terrible. Untrue. His political viewpoints made me grit my teeth. The fact he is crying shows how touched he is by his own visions. He is disgrace to my beautiful town of Rexburg. Where has critical thinking skills gone too? This is so depressing.

Do you recall when the Judge sentenced Lori Daybell to 3 consecutive life sentences, he made it a point to stress that she "came here" to do these crimes, that she was an outsider that brought heinous criminality to a formerly law-abiding town. I can't help but think that he wanted to send a message to any other outsiders, which is: if you're going to perpetrate, this is what awaits you. .
I feel the same way about the Hawaiian judge who set her bail at $5MM.
Lori couldn't just keep her evil criminality in her own back yard, she had to flaunt it and spread it around in her White Trashy Barbie way.

He claims to have met Jesus (blond hair and blue eyes), none of it makes any sense! If Chad walked a straight line; no women, no cheating, no lying, no murders, etc., then I might think he believes his own stories are real!

I was surprised that none of his NDE’s actually involved actual real near death. To me he’s describing out of body experiences , not near death. I spent a year in hospital and my family was called in3 times as I was about to die and my surgeon twice asked if I wanted to stop treatment and be put on comfort care and die in 3-4 days. It’s 11 years later . I told the doctor I’d go ahead and try to live and if I did and was in too much pain I could kill myself then. He seemed shocked while all the while he was suggesting I do exactly that 11years ago. I suffered delusions - who knew I could write NDE books and people might buy them ? Always something to look forward to .

    • @ValorWarrior5258
      @ValorWarrior5258 2 года назад

I agree with the out of body experience.
Once my brother was in ICU, and we had met many family members during that two weeks. One young girl who had been in a car accident, her mother wanted me and my mom to go to a room and talk with her. The young girl was broken up and in traction. She told us that her body went through the windshield and flew about 200 yards onto a walkway of a house ( close to their porch). She said her spirit was above her body and she watched it slam into the ground. She didn’t know what to think about it and so me and my mom told her that most likely her spirit was a safety mechanism so she wouldn’t feel the pain as her body was broken up. She said she had never felt pain until waking up a week later( the trauma team of doctors had kept her in a chemically induced coma, while multiple surgeries were performed.
Chad had out of body experience when that wave crashed against his body.
I believe this because of my experiences with my brother and several in ICU/ Trauma center I was allowed to speak to and hear their stories.
We prayed for all who were in the trauma unit and many family members approached us to keep praying for them. God answers prayers. All who asked, their family members eventually went home. A few who didn’t join us in praying, their family members passed away within a day or two of our first few days up there. I had always felt God led us that way to help show love and compassion to many people who were suffering traumatic accidents with their loved ones.
When we arrived, we had no room in the trauma/ ICU waiting room to sit, and my dad stretched out on the floor and slept the first two nights.
They said they had never had that many ICU/ Trauma patients at that hospital at one time.
I do believe God has a purpose, and He can use us. But we usually don’t know when where and what it is until it is all done.
We really didn’t know all that would happen, until it was all over!

Stories of end times (though not as severe as Chad's descriptions) from my Nana, to the constant comments about California residents not being righteous/getting destroyed, etc. (and the associated chuckles from the crowd). Obviously Chad is very acutely evil; however, it's easy to see how this line of thinking could get a number of my fellow Ward members to go "off the rails". Eye opening stuff.

Agreed. I don't think most members would prescribe to mild versions of this, but I can definitely see some members I know some falling for stuff like this. I had a seminary teacher who believed a lot of obscure "doctrine" and talked about the end of times in strange ways (different than how I learned at church for sure). I always think about him when I hear stuff like this 😬

My sense is that he’s gullible that way, suggestible even, and given to flights of fancy and invention. God doesn’t pour inspiration out like candy. I think anybody who’s prayed for understanding or guidance knows how much work goes in to receiving that kind of help. I see no hint here of those strange beliefs he later seemed to have concerning zombies, pendulums, and dark or light spirits. Nor of his belief that he is the “leader of the 144,000”. Lori has a distinctive pitch of laughter, you can hear her enthralled and laughing at every opportunity, she was truly engaged by him
It seems to me that the draw for her was she wanted to re-write her own story and was willing to do anything to make the fantasy of “importance” and being a central leading character in her own story over-rode any maternal instincts she ever had
It’s enormously sad that she chose this path and discarded Charles who obviously adored her, it’s enormously sad Chad also threw his wife’s life away with his own future…all in the name of a “fantasy of self importance”
Healing and peace to all who have had their lives disrupted, endangered or obliterated by this delusional egomaniacal couple, may they live out their days deprived of light love and liberty but most importantly deprived of each other which to them, I believe is the ultimate punishment

What kind of treatments do you think they would use to make her competent for trial?

    • @susieadrian2149

I'd like to know how Lori is able to remain at the mental health facility. We know she's an evil murderer but does that mean she's not capable to stand trial or understand questions?
Does choosing evil over good mean she's mentally unstable?
We can all agree that she's "crazy" for killing her own children and spouses, "crazy" for her ways. IMO, she made a great life for herself that she didn't want or appreciate; she was capable of becoming a hairdresser, a wife (a few too many times)! becoming a mother, capable of reciting the book of mormon and retaining information/scriptures. She chose to "twist" the words to satisfy herself, her evil thoughts, her craving to feel special. I don't believe that (for almost 50 yrs) her personality changed overnight. She may have never felt happy but she managed to create a life many of us would love. Only she didn't want it, her beautiful children got in her way, cost money she wanted all to herself (they paid their own way & supported her)! She planned her life her way, she was able to control her husbands, money, friends, family; nothing was ever enough. She was able to manipulate people and cater to her every need!
This doesn't mean she's "crazy", her sense of entitlement and selfishness doesn't mean she's can't understand.
This is not about right or wrong answers, it's about the truth.
Lori is experienced and understands a court process, this isn't her first rodeo! She knew enough to "claim" she's "mentally unstable". Her whole life before this wouldn't have been so great had she been "crazy"!
Yes, she's crazy for her well planned choices, her personal thoughts but not "crazy" for prosecutors to believe.

    • @wehvgirlpwr
      @wehvgirlpwr 3 года назад +4

Being restored to competency, though, is not about debunking her brain of her religious beliefs, it’s about helping her understand the legal process she will go to court and face. I worked as an RN on a unit in a psych hospital that had a sole goal of restoring competency. It’s not about her religious beliefs it’s about her understanding her upcoming legal battles. I had many patients who were able to be restored to competency but who remained “mentally ill” but they were able to understand the legal process. At this point, Lori may very well have some deeply entrenched fixed delusions that will never be changed but they may or may not impede her ability to understand her legal problems. In my state we DO have the “guilty except for insanity” plea and it’s not as easy to obtain as many people think. It’s my understanding that Idaho does not have this particular plea. If she can never be restored, I don’t know where they go from there from a legal standpoint.

    • @wehvgirlpwr
      @wehvgirlpwr 3 года назад +1

@@kavitadeva Sorry, I misunderstood. In my unit all it took was to pass a psych evaluation performed by a psychologist or psychiatrist that proved she understood her charges, knew what sentence she might receive(ie…Felony A in my state is at least 20 yrs minimum, and so on), she must have an understanding of basic legal terminology that might be used in trial, understand the role of an attorney, judge and jury and similar issues. We did not discuss their legal case with them while assisting them to learn their legal skills except to question them if they knew why and what they were charged with. This is a somewhat simplistic explantation and I’m probably leaving some stuff out and it is also based on my state. It can take many months for some people and sometimes some patients were found NEVER competent meaning that due to mental illness, they will never be able to understand what is going on. Also in my state, in order to be found “guilty except for insanity” it must be proven that the person was mentally ill at the time of the crime and that the mental illness was a precipitating factor for the commission of said crime. Many people are hyper-religious and never cause harm, I will be interested to see how the results play out in light of her obvious religious beliefs which may in fact be fixed delusions that might never go away, even with meds. However, I do believe she could be quite capable of learning her legal skills and remain quite mentally ill, if in fact she really is. I have seen this numerous times and I have also met my share of Malingerers. I wish I knew more about how the system in Idaho works, it would be interesting. Maybe someone who knows will comment if it is similar. The subject fascinates me!

There was some books written by a Baptist minister and a fiction writer called LEFT BEHIND and they did 2 movies with Nicholas cage and Kirk Cameron. I was surprised Nic Cage did that, it’s all about the rapture and the end of the world, and 2nd coming, and I read many many of them and saw the movies, although I can’t remember the Kirk Cameron movies as well. The books were well written and did very well. And were way ahead of daybelle’s idea to write books set in modern times, about the end of the world, except he used Mormon scripture, and his crazy fiction. I never fell down the rabbit hole reading those books, I did it for distraction and because I was in bed a lot because I was dealing with a lot of pain. So that helped me distract myself. I met the pastor and he really liked me. He was at this church for a couple of days so me and ma maman went to hear him. His name was Tim Le Haye. But like I said I never went down the rabbit hole reading them. They used the premise that one will be in the field beside another and be taken so you had people on a plane just disappear and all that was left was the clothing. And of course people are freaking out and then the pilot remembers what his wife was learning in church and how she invited him to come, now she’s gone, and their young son and the daughter and he who didn’t believe are “left behind”. He was tempted to have an affair with a co worker but did not act on it but almost did, and then afterwards becomes a pivotal character in the book along with his daughter and her boyfriend a journalist she meets after the people disappear.

It's been brought up on some of your videos whether Tammy knew about Chad and Lori and Chad and other affairs. I can just imagine how much he must have changed as a husband once his books became popular, then he had a lot of followers/admirers while at the same time changing his total belief system within a matter of five years or less. He must have become like a stranger to her. It's too bad she couldn't have left and saved herself.
