Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of NIO ET7 2022

- Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

I really like the center airbag as it does not allow as much movement from the the two occupants.
Great performance overall. People still think chinese product are still poor in quality and crap.
Because China makes products at all levels, from low to high end, exports to rich and poor countries.
99.9% high-end phones are made in China (Apple, Samsung) or Chinese brands (Huawei, One plus, Mi, Vivo, Honor, Realme, Lenovo, Oppo), also cheap TECNO phones in Africa.

I mean 30-50 years ago my grandparents rode around in their mules and oxen with maybe a single road in their village. I’d say this is a massive improvement

Wow, that was tested at CSI 中汽研. I have heard it is cooperating with ENCAP. But never thought it to be an official release, not just an internal testing.

The failure is the result of bad fusion of camera and radar, seems one radar worked better than fusion

Yeah NIO autonomous driving and assist features on platform 2.0 aren't fully developed yet so it's quite an unfair judgement at present time. What you see in those tests are more in line with the previous gen drive assist.
