Also: you should very much solder on the bottom of the PCB and not from the top down, as you're doing it. Damaging components from over-exposure from heat, is a possibility and also much easier for checking for fault or repairing down the road.
Hi! I’m also a beginner in this ( only built 2 pedals ). Use a multimeter to sort all resistors! The direction of a resistor doesn’t matter unlike a capacitor.
@@thomasvopstal still won't be as good as using a separate flux. Top tip for not scrathing faceplates is to use a socket from a socket set. Thanks for the video though, very funny too!
As a tip…Soldering both sides introduces extra heat that can damage sensitive components. Especially transistors. Using high heat and soldering quickly is key to a well flowed joint.
Thanks for sharing. Would like to hear the comparison too.
Awesome - Happy Birthday brother! Excited for the comparison too
Thanks so much! And yes, will test asap!

All resistors are very much "interchangable from side to side" - ie. doesn't matter which direction they're put in:)

Sound skulptor tape simulator could be a nice build! love the channel. Cheers!

Happy Birthday!!
Great! I have a Neve 1073 SPX here, would love to hear how that DIY kit sounds, might be a fun project anyway!
You really want a decent pair of side cutters for nice clean cuts
Yes! Definitely!
This! They come in handy for building Gundams too. Lol
Wooow
Magnificent
heel benieuwd naar het eind resultaat man ! en hoe hij presteert tov de real deal
Hello together 😂
Will we get a comparison with Neve and other preamps soon? ❤
Yes! Give me a week or 2/3, i need to get a multimeter and wait for the testrig to arrive to make sure this preamp is flawless!
nice
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Happy birthday :) Hope she works
Longstreamaudio is going strong in Holland. Of course you know him, right? I wish i could find the time to learn to solder!
Haven’t heard of it before, can’t find it either. Where can i check it out?
@@thomasvopstal I'll send you a link
If you are keen I have seen good things about neve 2254 - AML-17-048 - 52F50 Full Kit - (500 series Compressor)
Yes the AML stuff is great!
FUCK YES
Awesome! How long was the total build time?
About 5 hours, but thats including filming and the mistakes i made
What you think about the warm audio cl1b for vocals? Better as UAD?
I made a video on it comparing it to the UAD and the Tubetech!
@@thomasvopstal yes inhale seen it. But what is your own favorite?
@@ProducerStefanSchnabel the real tubetech is something else
@@thomasvopstal Great. Thank you for your feedback. ✌🏻✨🎶🙂

Bro I keep seeing you in sunglass ads. Is it you? Not knocking the style just curious! I got a pair of these I’m gonna make. Cheers
Hahah what sunglasses ads?!
You should use flux when u solder bro it helps a lot it makes the solder flow way better so don’t have to do any touch ups
I believe the type of solder i used already has flux in it, but i could be wrong

Solderingtime could have taken you half the time. Its ‘uncommon’ to solder both sides 😅 but i like you fresh attitude! Show us your comparison.
Yes! The comparison will follow soon! I’m not soldering everything on both sides btw, just touching up where it didnt flow through by itself
@@thomasvopstal understood. you are doing a great job and enjoy your videos (together with my son).
@@alexkempkes01 thanks so much for sharing that! Love hearing you both enjoy my videos!🙏

This is legos for engineers…
most people solder from the bottom
the opamp works as a gate with trim pot
