I love the fact that in the “allegro” the video says he rushes down the stairs and that’s what I imagined a man doing while listening to that part. Soo cool
Yeah me too when i first saw thus piece i thought why there were words in it. Then it's like a screenplay and the tune is the background music. It's indeed cool
1. Allegro He's off. He goes merrily to his office, "en se gavillant". With a contented nod of his head. He loves a pretty and very elegant lady. He also loves his penholder, his cuffs of green lustring and his Chinese scull-cap. He walks with long strides scrambles up the stairs three steps at a time. What a rush! As he seats himself in his armchair, he feels happy, and he shows it. 2. Andante He muses over his promotion . Perhaps he may get a raise without having to be promoted. He intends to move next quarter. He has his eye on a flat. If only the raise or the promotion comes off. Renewed contemplation of his prospects. 3. Vivache He hums an old Peruvian tune which he has collected in Lower Brittany with the aid of a deaf-and-dumb. A neighboring pianist is playing Clementi How sad it is. He dares to waltz! (he, not the piano) All that is very sad. The piano renews its labour Our friend interrogates himself benevolently. The cold Peruvian air gets into his head. The piano goes on. Alas, it is time to leave his office, - his dear office. 'Courage, let's be off' says he.

What a weird personality was Satie
Weird in a good way
In a beautiful way
Thank you so much for posting this! Your channel is a gem...
Thank you for your kind message
Thank for sharing this interesting piece
I’m not very into music, but Satie was indeed an eclectic musician.
You're missing out.
@@simianto9957 I know.. I noticed It when I gor more into satie's works
Got*
The Tribune (Chicago) Content Agency Crossword Puzzle of 14-Oct-2021 brought me here, and I’m very pleased it did! Learned something today.
One of my favorites of satie's works
Indeed
This is almost the exact same as clementi’s Sonatina in C major Op. 36 no. 1, just ten times as fast and difficult
Yess. I randomly got this video recommended and was like: Wait a minute? 🤔🤔 I know this!😂😂
Yes, it's a direct parody of that piece.
enccentric, electric. looking forward to playing this.
Wow, I wouldn't have thought this was Satie.
Very nice.
Satie does satire
The "how sad it is part" was hilarious
I am the only one who feeels Satie is laughing at Clementi sonatines?
When is he NOT trolling?
The allegro movement is very similar as Clementi's first sonatina
Right?
It's clearly deliberate!
It's a parody
Actually, the entire composition is a Clementi's op 36 n 1 parody
whole thing is a parody. Clementi was one of the best composers of the Haydn/Mozart generation. Satie is mainly known for leaden facetiousness, as evidenced here.
More jokes about "standard musical forms". I confess: I really like it.
Well you're in for a good ride with Satie if you like jokes about standard musical forms, cause he liked to make fun of those.

I think I am in love with this man
I could not ever play this so fast, mostly in the finale the parallel chords on the RH
I tried to read its history. The piece is meant for his "humoristic" compositions. No wonder why I found myself laughing while reading the sheet.
Many of his 1910s piano works have funny notes like this one.
@@eriksatieofficiel thanks for the info. I'll try to listen to his other works
Clementi would appreciate this
Should create a played-spoken show with this quite interesting piece
0:21 i can see the inspiration from clementi
Does anyone else notices the clementi Op 36 no. 1 refrence?
I feel like he's mocking Beethoven's sonatas at 0:40
Well atleast he puts the andante in 9/8 as Clementi should have
Satie i love you!!! 🌹
You are breathtaking!
Very neoclassical, Haydnesque in execution and rhythm.
Esto es versión de la sonatina op. 36 no. 1 de Muzio Clementi
Tenes razon. Jaja.

Well. What does Messiaen and Boulez have against that. I’m pretty sure that Debussy wouldn’t mind, although we could never verify that claim ...
It sounds a lot like Scarlatti

That was interesting! I'm afraid I didn't catch the videogame reference though.
@@eriksatieofficiel It's an old game of the Eighties... It was just to introduce some esoteric stuff in the piece itself...
This is so fast......
why does it sound like clementi sonatinas a bit?
Satie closely modelled his "Sonatine" about a day in the life of a bureaucrat, on Clementi's Sonatina in C Op.36 no 1

a day in the life?
I read the news today, oh boy
yes👁👄👁
this is it
Why this feel like a parody to me? It's fun though
Because it is a pastiche of a Clementi sonatine
No one thinks this is clementi?
Beethoven thought it was Clementi when Satie released this LP.
Kinda cool, but the original by Clementi is WAY better.
Clementeez nuts
LOLCATS you got me. @@eriksatieofficiel
This almost feels like mockery.
Satie was indeed a bit mischievous.
It’s a hair brained satirical variation/transcription of a Clementi sonatina.
@guhj it is :)
