  • An easy moss stitch crochet blanket designed for Yarnspirations Red Heart Granny Square All In One yarn.
    Make a baby blanket with 2 skeins for a small throw with 3 skeins of yarn.
    Find the free crochet pattern PDF on Ravelry: www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...
    Skill level: easy/beginner
    Hook size: 8 mm (L 11)
    Stitches required: chain and single crochet in US terms
    Size: 37 inches square (94 cm square)
    Yarn: Worsted weight (medium, category 4). 2 skeins of Red Heart Granny Square All in One yarn (100% acrylic; 417 yards (381 m) per 250-gram skein). That is 834 yards (762 meters) of yarn.
    The sample blanket used 2 skeins of Red Heart Granny Square All In One yarn in the Soft White - Citrus Twist colorway.
    Gauge: 11.5 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm), 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)
    Pattern Notes
    You can make your blanket any size you want by adjusting the number of starting chains. Any odd number of starting chains works for this pattern. The sample started with 110 chains to create 109 single crochet stitches in Row 2 (not 108 as I said in the video!).
    The whole blanket uses moss stitch, which is a repeating single crochet, chain 1 pattern. Moss stitch is sometimes called linen stitch.
    Add the second skein whenever the first skein runs out and don’t worry if it starts on a different color. Go with the flow of color changes- no cutting or controlling of colors needed.

    I was just wondering how the granny square yarn looked when not in a granny square. I wasn't a fan of the colors as a granny square but crocheted like this is so beautiful.

    Thank you for these beautiful basket giveaways! I love your channel! I just found it within the past month, and I like your beautiful colourful designs. If I were to make a basket, I would choose 1. Tree Hugger, or 2. Santa Fe.

    Thank you so much. I made this blanket using the Granny Square yarn in the warm wheat color. It’s really nice. So nice that I decided to keep it. 😊

    Great pattern to use up that yarn, as trying to get granny squares out of it is maddening! The colors are so pretty in your blanket.

    Thanks for crocheting an afghan with this yarn. I was wondering how this yarn would play out on a larger project as I don’t do granny squares.

    I love that you made a blanket with this yarn. I’ve been looking to see if someone had made a video yet because it would drive me crazy if I tried to get 14 perfect granny squares out of it but I really want to make a blanket out of it. Thank you!

    I love your blanket. I was not excited about this yarn. I like using left over yarn for my granny squares and then one main color for the borders of the squares and the blanket. I like that this means no two granny blankets will ever be the same. I will be trying out your pattern. Thank you for sharing it with us.

    You said chain 109 which the multiple is an odd number? For a lapghan or bigger you double the stitch counts right?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  6 месяцев назад +1

      Any odd number of starting chains works! Doubling it would make a really huge blanket. The one I am holding has 109 chains and would be a good lapghan if you add a third skein.

    This yarn is pricey. It is softer than regular RHSS?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  6 месяцев назад +1

      It’s on sale on Joann right now! This yarn is made in India. I think it is softer than the old U.S.-made Red Heart Super Saver yarn. I looked at a label of RHSS and it is made in India now too.
