Susan you are such a great teacher. I have a traumatic brain injury & sometimes processing things in my mind can be rough. However you are always great at explaining the steps & providing great visual. I really rely on visual instruction now, so I appreciate your tutorials. This is such a great home decor gift too. Such a great project. Its just enough of a departure from traditional crochet we all usually do & take a break from that but still be creative using yarn & a crochet hook. I could see this made a little more narrow & use for a table runner decoration & the colors could be changed out seasonally. I'm sure people in the comments will come up with many different uses. Thanks for the tutorial. It's very pretty. 💜

I bought your book several months ago because I LOVE the patterns. But I ran into a problem trying to make the Durango pillow. I had to go up 1 hook size to get 17 sts= 4" width, but 17 rows doesn't come close to giving me 4" of height!! How do I fix this? I'm using worsted yarn. If I can't get the proper gauge my pillow will be rectangular instead of square. Help!!

Did the light color come from the ball of mandala cause when you showed us yarns in beginning they were all blues. I love all the baskets made but have no idea how they got them as I don’t know the colors used to achieve them. Beginner here

Im watching the video and you seem to have no trouble with crocheting 7 strands. Im just practicing so only using 5 strands and a K hook and having a hard time with pulling thru all the strands with out loosing some. I do amigurumi all the time but this is going to be challenging project. Any tips on this? (Havent got my L hook or yarns yet so when I get started it will be with 7 strands)

I love the baskets! Very practical, beautiful - and cheap! Using scraps! Wonderful idea. Question: how stable is the base? Do you use something sturdy to keep the base flat?
