    As a brand new crochet person who knows very little about crocheting, I so appreciate your great tutorials! You make me feel confident and eager to try anything! I love how you inform us with such joy and calmness. Thank you. I have already made the huggable tote bag and love it. I am giving it to my daughter for her birthday. Now I am going for this wrap.

    I'm making 2 of these simultaneously. One using a 3 weight wool-ease cake and the other using a discontinued hobby lobby yarn called 44th Street. I'm using 2 complimentary colors in that one. I'm really liking them both so far. Thank you for the idea. I've had this hobby lobby yarn for a year waiting for a good project for it.

    Susan, I am so excited to see you back so soon. This will be a great car project. I love to have something to do while riding in the car or waiting for someone. My Mandala supply is large and this is a great idea.

    Has anyone ever told you that you look and sound like the Canadian singer Anne Murray? She's in her 70's now, but if you check out her younger photos you might see the similarity.
    I recently discovered your channel, and the first time I saw you and heard you talking, you reminded me of her right away.
    Thank you for this shawl pattern. These shawls are all so beautiful. I will definitely use this pattern in the future.

    Thank you for sharing .This is a wonderful idea I have a few cakes of this yarn. I live in Nova Scotia canada. These shawls would be great for walking along the beach or sitting on my deck in the evening. Also great to keep in our car, as we go for drives and just randomly stop to walk along the ocean. Also like you sometimes I just want to crochet without having to think about a pattern. 👍🇨🇦⛵

      Thank you! 💗 The first one in the video is the Griffin colorway. The extra large one is a bonus bundle of the Sasquatch colorway. The one with fringe is a mix of scraps from many different Mandala cakes. No scrap left behind! 😁

    Did you do a video on the laid back scrap wrap

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  4 месяца назад +1

      Not specifically. But the main body of the wrap is the same. Just leave a long starting and ending tail of yarn and fasten off after each row. When the wrap is done you can add more fringe to the end of each row.

    I have a 6 and a 6.5mm hook am I going to have to double the amount of stitches in each row to make this work? You said a 11-12mm would work. New to crochet and wanted to try my first Mandela yarn.

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  4 месяца назад

      With a 6.5 mm hook, starting with 216 stitches sounds like a plan. It would not be lacy like the ones in the video, it would have more like a blanket-type drape, which is nice too. The bigger the hook, the lacier the stitches will look.

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! 🐑 I used Griffin for the original wrap, Sasquatch for the oversize wrap, and various Mandala scraps for the fringed one. The specific scraps from specific Mandala colorways are listed in the free Laid Back Scrap Wrap crochet pattern on Ravelry here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/laid-back-scrap-wrap

    What size hook would you recommend if using different yarn? I’m in UK & our Lion Brand is different. Do you just go up a certain amount of hook sizes from the recommended ?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  Месяц назад +1

      I recommend going up hook sizes by 5 or 6 mm. The Mandala yarn I used recommends a 5 mm hook, but I used an 11.5 mm hook for this.

    Hi. can I make it wider so it comes further down my body? Plus I am quite a big lady how do I make it lonfer?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  2 месяца назад

      Yes! Start with any number of chains you like. Maybe 120 or 130 chains for an extra long one, and you may want to add an extra cake of yarn to make it wider. Then it would be like the Bonus Bundle version I show in the video.

  • @angiebourne3219

    Can this be done with a 10mm hook? I tried 12mm & it was a disaster for me😂

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  25 дней назад +1

      Absolutely! Use the largest hook that works for you. You could even go down to 8 mm or 9 mm and just block your wrap stretching the lace a little bit further than you normally would.
