Hi Nick… cool list. I love The Cure album. The Green Day is solid and I also really like The Black Crowes album. I have to check out that Linkin Park still. Your review video and this video have inspired me to. The only album I have of theirs is the Greatest Hits they released recently but I am really curious about this one. Thank you . Happy New Year . Great video and I hope that you also release a best of 2024 reissue/box set edition. I would have liked the Black Crowes release far more but I just couldn't get past the "one dimensional" sonic quality/recording/mastering of this release. Unfortunately, the Cure's release suffers from sonic compromises as well but I'm not to the extent of me not enjoying the release. Happy New Year...Cheers!
I'm clearly going to have to give The Black Crows a listen. The Cure and Linkin Park are in my Top 10 too although I did feel a bit short-changed with the album barely lasting half an hour
I wasn’t expecting to like the Black Crowes album as much as I did. I thought the last couple of albums were subpar, but they seem more focused on the new album.
I know you aren't a fan of the album because you told me so on the Facebook group a week or so ago, but my favourite album of the year was Supercharged by The Offspring. I personally really like it, and to me it reminds me of the Smash, Ixnay, Americana era for some reason. So I think that would be my top album of the year. I would also put Green Day and Linkin Park as my 2 and 3 rankings.
Oh you aren’t the only one, I know quite a few people that have listed Supercharged as one of their favorites of the year. Looks like I might be the outlier. 😂
I had a problem putting up 5 good albums that I listened to in 2024. Billie Eilish, POD, Stryper, Pearl Jam and Sabrina Carpenter. There were more albums I bought, but some of them I was very let down.
My Top 10 Albums Of 2024: (10) Kacey Musgraves "Deeper Well" (tie) (10) Sabrina Carpenter "Short n' Sweet" (tie) (09) Deep Purple "=1" (08) Billie Eilish "Hit Me Hard And Soft" (07) Dua Lipa "Radical Optimism" (06) Beyonce "Cowboy Carter" (05) The Warning "Keep Me Fed" (04) Charli XCX "Brat" (03) Taylor Swift "The Tortured Poets Department" (02) Ariana Grande "Eternal Sunshine" (01) The Last Dinner Party "Prelude To Ecstasy"
I think if Lincoln Park would’ve just changed their name with Emily, similar to what Creed did when Myles replaced Scott and when Evanescence replaced Amy, hardcore Park fans would’ve been more receptive. I personally liked the album.
I initially thought the same thing, but after listening to the album I was ok with it because they aren’t trying to copy what they did with Chester (like AC/DC did after Bon’s death). Also, Chester (after he took over vocals with STP) said that a band shouldn’t have to change it’s identity after losing a lead singer, so why should Linkin Park have to when Chester would want them to carry on?

Idk, I think I had a pretty good mix of newer and older bands on my list. Those older bands will never be able to recapture their glory days, but they are still capable of putting out some high quality material.

Great picks Nick. Happy New Year.
David Gilmour - Luck and Strange. One of the best albums I've heard this year.

Yeah, I was really surprised how young they were when I saw them open for Green Day last summer. I’ll have to check out Bad Nerves, thanks!

Myles never replaced Scott. For Alterbridge was an entirely different band than Creed.
