What I like about your instruction Marcus is that your videos are short and to the point. You are easy to understand and your tuition brings instant results. And to be taught by a long drive champion can't fail to improve any swing. I'm not surprised your channel is growing, I can't believe you've not got a million subscribers. Hello Marcus ! I’ve just discovered your channel and love it ! I’m 70 and have been golfing for about 30 years and have been down to a 2 handicap and started out at around 15. I used a very weak right hand grip at first and swung naturally and had a baby fade and the ball went about 280 with my Ping eye two 3wood. Problem was I couldn’t hit anything teed up especially a driver and my short irons were pathetic- ( high short fade , maybe 130 carry with an 8 iron ) , hahahaha. So I took a lesson and was taught how to hit a draw my moving the ball back in my stance and rotating and hitting out to the right, which was the opposite of what I did previously. So from there I was able to hit either shot and played like that for a few years but I was always trying to find a golf swing that let me just swing naturally and yet make solid consistent contact. I actually fooled around with something similar to what you teach and had great success but felt that it looked too “ unorthodox “ and of course when I hit a wayward shot , my group would jokingly say “ Paul , when are you going to stop fooling around with that goofy swing and start playing normal golf “ . Anyway, I tried your swing yesterday and hit some amazing shots and also a few hideous ones out to the right ( high push fade ) so I went back to my current version of my swing and shot even on the back nine but still could not get YOU out of my head! I really want to perfect your swing and UNDERSTAND it better . So my question is this - do you have any videos that not only show proper ball position for driver and 7 iron or wedge BUT is it possible to show that from a camera mounted above you ? I think that if I could see a slow motion swing of you with different clubs I could better determine ball position, plus see the angle of attack better and also see how much your body actually moves off and through the ball. Like you , I’m right handed and played hockey and baseball left handed so now , playing right handed I find my dominant, right hand , always overpowered my left and I am also afraid of “ flipping “ my left wrist through impact because apparently that causes a lack of distance according to the modern teaching methods but I see now that it’s a good thing and it allows me to release the club naturally. Ok, that’s enough yapping from me, lol, sorry , I tend to ramble on at times especially when the golf swing is concerned so thanks so much for your wonderful channel and you are very good at instructing and I just love your calm demeanour and dedication to your method and it is unorthodox but it is , I believe, the future of teaching golf so that people not only understand it better but can actually do it without causing so many injuries to the body because to me , NATURAL GOLF isn’t Moe Norman ( that’s Moe’s swing from hitting a zillion balls and not natural) although I would be fine using his swing but it killed my back. ) …….. YOUR SWING is NATURAL GOLF 👍😁👌 Thanks again for your time and looking forward to a video from above when you get a chance . Paul , Nelson BC , Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Paul. I will try to answer some of your questions. At first I don't like slow motion. It makes us think that we should try to do what we see. We need to try to do a lot more of some things to make this work. Watch this:
      ruclips.net/video/efRsbb--k5k/видео.htmlsi=5LHB7pmJ4j9NYPxv
You are correct about Moe Norman, nobody can swing like Norman except Norman. A great but misunderstood man.
I don't have the angle of video that you requested but if my channel keeps growing maybe I can afford to expand my video equipment so I can show every angle.
The biggest choice you need to make is if you should be a dominant pusher (draw) or a puller (fade). When you mix the two you get a two way miss and a big headache.
Keep me posted on your progress. 👍

I felt like my lead hand was pulling the butt end of the grip up-and-in instead of down and toward the ball (the scooping as you call it in some other videos). Maybe I just need the feel of my lead hand focusing on "doing something" other than pulling down.

Instruction is pure class, Marcus. Some of your videos show an in to out path of 10 degrees. Do you try to aim for a similar angle inside during you take away? I try to exaggerate as you recommend and feel like, when I look down at my target line 9 to 3 on the clock face, I'm inside towards 4 o'clock. Maybe more (I'm a righty). Is that correct or too much? Release from here feels great but sometimes it draws too much! Thanks for the tips. Superb!

Just discovered your videos, they are fantastic.
Tried out the scoop idea today on the range, when i got it right, its definitely got more pop off the driver.
However, it also goes really high, so high that I think any additional club head speed does not translate into more distance.
I am using a 9 degree driver turned down to 7.5 already with a 65g stiff shaft.
Is there a way to get the benefits of the scoop release without lofting it up way too much?
Thanks for the videos, a great channel.

Marcus, just noticed your YT slot.
I think what you are saying is to just swing the club and let the body do what feels natural? Then you have to time the crossover of the hands? Quicker crossover is draw, slower is fade? This will, no doubt, have to be learnt by practice.
I always have trouble keeping my lead arm straight on the backswing but notice that you bend your lead arm naturally and hit the ball okay as presumably it will be straightened at impact by centrifugal force?
It would be nice to play this way without scrunching my body up into unnatural and painful contortions.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
