    I was really really lucky to get one at the normal retail price and it is one of the best cameras 📷 of mine. I think maybe they realize because of the interchangeable lens this camera is actually way more versatile then the x100v.

    I have an X-E4 and think it's actually a better all round camera than the x100v and X-Pro3 that I owned beforehand! Those were both excellent cameras but the X-E4 has a better form factor (especially with Fuji's hand grip), is more versatile and just easier to use. A brilliant camera that is a joy to use!❤

    With the xe4 sharing so much dna with the x100v and the back order list for those being so long, I assume they'd killed off the xe4 to use parts to clear the backlog and answer the huge demand for the x100v. I'm an owner of the xe4 myself so glad I grabbed one last year now!)

  • @atacant
    @atacant Год назад +3

    i think the x-e4 is a brilliant camera, however it has some key drawbacks for me. Such as the removal of the focus mode switch in front and not having a back command dial. Also, i don't really know why they didn't put the iso selector dial from the xpro into that one. I get that it is the "simplest" camera even compared to the x-t30 and they wanted to keep it super minimal but it has always been in a weird spot in my mind. I still absolutely love the handling and the experience it provides. I personally have an x-t4 but have always wanted an x-e4 as a daily body/a second body when I shoot for work. Sad to see it discontinued. I hope it is to make way for an x-e5 update.

    I love my classic silver X-E4 with my collection of small primes - glad I got one for Australian $1,050.00 a year ago.
    I've got a collection of older Fuji classic cameras and use X-H and X-T systems to run my scientific and technical imaging business but there is ONE CAMERA I WOULD KILL FOR: A Fujifilm 'X100VI' with the 40MP X-Trans sensor, IBIS, X-T style screen movements and an 18mm f/2 fixed lens (28mm equivalent) with macro and digital cropping with optical viewfinder frames for 35mm and 50mm. In short a 'Leica Q2 killer'! How about it Fuji?

    I have little hands and the x-e4 is so perfect for me. I’m not a photographer, but my friend asked me to take her photos for her website because she loves my photos.
    I use the video on a tripod for instructional purposes and so ibis is unnecessary for me. I feel like the camera brings a little magic where I am lacking in experience, and it’s been a great learning tool for me.
    I don’t want a 40mp camera and I also don’t need a bigger camera. I feel so lucky to have replaced my stolen Nikon with this little Fuji gem at just the right time.

    I wanted an xe4 but unfortunately it was difficult to find for a good price where I live. I got an xs10 instead and I think it's so underrated. Same sensor, IBIS, better video specs which is nice. just as capable plus some. It's pretty much just as small except it has a deep grip which comes in handy shooting the street for hours. Although the ergonomics is designed more like a dslr which hardcore fuji fans might not like, I personally don't mind it at all.

    Loving xe-4. Been using it since a year. İbis and 40mp sensor on xe5 that i was expecting and i’m surprised also about the discontinued info. İf the same sensor as in x100vi would be on a new gen xe5 i would pre order immediately. Mainly bec of the ability to change lenses. Would like a bigger sensor to crop. A small powerfull body like that with interchangeable lenses is a dream.

      @@IanSnape at least not so soon. But i believe they will come up with a compact camera in the near future. Either it will be an xe-5 or something else. X100 vi is even a big camera comparing to xe4 or ricoh.
      The big market is the smartphone market and with their film simulations and basic tools in the camera software they already have a place to get the young generation and pro’s who wants a small form factor but a capable camera.

    I’ve wondered that too, Fujifilm is supposedly more powerful and well off than Olympus and Lumix yet they can’t keep their cameras in stock. You can still buy a brand new Lumix G7 for crying out loud, but not a 2 year old XE-4 which I was wanting to buy? Bruh 😂 I was actually considering switching to Fuji with an Xpro 3 but those aren’t even in stock anymore. I thought Fujifilm was the better company over the inferior Olympus and Lumix cameras? Yet they can’t keep them in stock… interesting 🤔

  • @tomscott4438

    After mistakenly thinking I needed full frame (Canon R6) the bulk of lens and body meant I left it home, a lot. I missed the fun and portability of my X-E2 and the rangefinder style that allows me to use the EVF without smashing my nose into the LCD. A Leica Q3 was briefly considered, but as a hobbyist on a budget, I cannot justify $6K. Sadly the only two cameras in the Fuji lineup that would work for me are both impossible to get or discontinued. I'm positive an X-100? is coming, but they've threatened to permanently discontinue the X-E line before. That plus the fact the X-E4 was unavailable almost from launch suggests to me that Fuji no longer have any interest in this line. 😞

    I have one myself an love it because of all the things you mentioned. A reason why they discontinue the xe4 could be that it closes a gap in the lineup. If this gap opens up, more people could decide to buy a more expensive option like a x100v or the xpro3🤷🏽‍♂️

    I switched over to Fuji from Olympus and a Pen F with a full complement of lenses because low light was not great and they were going nowhere and a Pen F 2 was nowhere in sight. I love my X-E4 and have the XF 27, 23, 16-80, 15-45, 14, 55-200 and the Viltrox 56 1.4and TTArtisans 23 f1.4. I have also rented the 70-300 on several occasions. I love it and will not replace it anytime soon. What an X-E5 would have to have to tempt me would be IBIS, even 3 axis like the lower level Olympus units and the Ricoh GRiii. Truthfully, it’s the only feature my Pen F had that the X-E4 lacks. Everything else is superior.
