schönes Review Guido. cool zu sehen, dass du auch für diese Konzepte von Fortbewegung zu begeistern bist ;) in meinen Augen haben Seat, aber vor allem eben Skoda die größten Designfortschritte in der deutschen Autoindustrie zu verzeichnen. Skoda ab 2013 mit dem neuen Octavia und Seat im gleichen Jahr mit dem Leon. Beide haben sich zu durchaus begehrenswerten Autoherstellern gemausert!

4:15 Nowadays a Skoda Superb has more features than the VW Phaeton in front there. Its nice to get luxury in the midsize but its a bit of a shame that VW never developed the Phaeton any further. Its basically the same car it was 10 years ago...
Looks like a great car Guido. Too bad these are not available here in Canada as they would sell like hot cakes. Keep up the great reviews.
+david dykeman Thanks David ! Yes, americans and canadians would love the comfort and the space of this car 4 sure. Even in germany delivery times are 6 months I think, so yes it's a very successful car
I've test driven it a few times, and compared it to my current car - the Aussie built Holden Caprice, which is a limousine sized sedan. I noticed a couple of negatives with the Superb: a) excessive road roar/rumble on road surfaces that are not perfect, b) the transmission can be a bit jerky. I'm a chauffeur and I'm not sure the Superb is refined enough, which is disappointing because I had high hopes.
Can you do a review of the facelift Superb? Just ordered my L&K and would like to see a more in depth review if possible :)

If Porsche won't give you a car at the moment, how about a teutonic view of the F-Type....?
+BertoniBertone Haha thanks, well Jaguar never delivered me the F-Type I was supposed to get for a test in 2013. Haven't really bothered to get in touch with them after that...As far as my brand and the cars I review goes, it's just harder to get sportscars in the winter and so I review a few more ordinary cars right now, until we hopefully get back to abit more exciting stuff in spring. :) - Guido
I have the Mk1 Superb 1.9 tdi remapped, i bloody love that car, so comfy :)

+TheGetawayer 188.xxx but she pulls better than 2.0 tdi standard! its a 5-speed manual so longer gearing.
+wtfdididolastnight I had a 3U with the 1.8T engine, very thirsty but it was a great car. Got all the features that you could want in 2005 for a low price and low running costs. The back room was huge, i like when the front and rear doors on a limosine are the same length. Looks better.

I got lucky, bought it from some old people. It was the fully loaded Elegance version. I only drove it 15.000km a year, otherwise i would have gone for a TDI. The 1.8T takes atleast 9 liters/100km...

They can't make the car better because then VW would have nothing to sell. It has to be an inferior design. Don't you get it? Why are you disappointed at design? It's exactly where it's meant to be.

In Serbia Škoda Superb is even more cheap to buy. Start price is 21.500€ for 1,4 TSI 150PS without any discount. In beginning price for 2,0 TDI 150PS (LED ligthts, Xenon, Auto AC, cruise control, alloy wheels...) was 21400€ . And now Automatic AC and cruise control is standard.

25 Years ago, everybody laughed at Skodas. Now, they make fantastic cars. I almost bought one last year, but bought an MG6 instead. Love to see a Guido review on one of those! :)

Last generation Skodas have made a big step further in my opinion. I drove the new Octavia for a couple of days and it felt really good.
Materials and building quality were good and it was enjoyable to drive, it felt like a grown up car!

I brought the sportline version with 280hp. But it will be delivered in March 17
I think the 2.0 petrol which is about 120kg lighter than the diesel will be sportier and feel better to drive.
Is there any comparison between VW Passat 2016 and superb 2016 ?

I like this different style of video Guido - it makes sense with the type of car you're reviewing! In Japan, we don't see non-japanese 'affordable' car brands like Seat, Skoda, Kia and SsangYong but with the likes of this 2016 model Superb, I think the world should take the Skoda brand a lot more seriously. I watched Autogefühl's review of the L&K Superb and I was blown away by the exterior & interior's sleek design. I think if you cover the badges up and ask a pedestrian what car it is, they would easily say its an Audi or some premium brand.

When I was a kid, Skoda was rear engine, noisy and ugly! What happened? ;-)
I remember driving Fabias and Octavias as rentals just 5 years ago: Same good chassis and engines, just the plasticy interiors were a bif off for me...Nowadays the interiors are much much better imo

Nice Review Guido, in the Video @ 1:10, is this an Wireless Charging Station? The Skoda Superb is a Beautiful Car for People who need Space, like us tall guys... The fact, that de Sedan in Germany espacilly has no big market share, is maybe not fair to the Sedan. Because in 99% of usage you just don`t need a Station Wagon / Estate, I know what i talk about, i drive a Estate Car. Hope for more "Tall Guy`s Cars" Reviews, cu...

I test drove it, just dont like the comfort mode with DCC, it almost made sick, felt like a swinging boat, otherwise is quite decent though, but really boring :)

Why only 6 speed DSG? all other VW group cars has 7 speed. It is the old DSG, thoug?
I think one of the smaller engines comes with the 7sd DSG, but cars like the Golf R also ' only ' get the 6spd DSG. Might be because of the torque, but more important is the coasting function. That jumps in when you'd be driving/ rolling in 6th or 7th without it::)
+Miro Malinik The 7 speed DSG(DQ200) can only handle up to 250nm. It's for smaller engignes.

+Max Nits it is an interesting budget proposition, but I think I would always get a pre-owned car of another brand instead of a new Skoda. Anyway, I would NEVER spend !!! 50K !!! on a Skoda ! You get a new E class starting at 44K - for fucks sakes... so 12 months old E class beats the pants of this any time of the day.
