Cheers Bandit. Garage crashes hos 2006 2 weeks ago which is a shame. It was in pretty good condition for its age. Thanks for the kind feedback mate

Nice one Charlie. I was thinking, (yeah I know - easy there haha), but a little fold out table that is easy to store in the garage would give you a decent working platform to work off of. Keep it up fella ❤

Yeh I've considered that over the years and had one in rhe past. I may have to get another.
I need a good clear out first. Old projects and parts etc.

Its nice to see progress. The 2500 Wet & dry is too fine, I would save that for working on Plastic parts, 1000 or 1200 grit is ok for the Aerosol paint you have used for polishing . (depending what you have in store). Like you said leave it for days to gas off .... Its getting there

I'm not sure which I prefer lol. I'm super busy at the moment in life so getting any bike stuff done is lucky. I just need a little space now, the s cargo gone ideally and the cb200.

    Chains do stretch. 👍.

They don't literally stretch, everything wears around and inside them causing the illusion of stretch.

    Hi Charlie,,,
Yes looking good,,, would be even better if you use the buffer with the compound,, hard doing it by hand,,,,but overall transformation is good
Check the front Telescopic shocks 😂😂😂😂
    What a nob😂😂😂😂

I need to get a new drill. I used to use buffing pads on the drill which did the work in no time

I promise im not having a pop!
    But.........
Paint is ALL about the prep, i realise youre not after perfect but, youre spending so much time going over and over it again. If youd done it properly to start with, you wouldnt be waisting precious time correcting it.
You can get a really nice finish with rattle cans, if you take your time.
You're grit choices aren't right either.
Just saying, youre waisting your valuable time, in this game, time is money.

Yes I definitely took the long route here, I thought I could just skim of the top and polish it up. I did however complete it in a day and it came out nice.
It all would have been easier with a drill but I need to get a new one

Was going to say the same so much effort went into that just remember the finish is all in the prep work

@motorcyclerescuer if the end result is what you're after, then it's a win! The 2k clear was definitely a good choice, it's so much more durable!

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  5 месяцев назад +3

@twowheelsquirrel yes it's the only clear that I find to be really fuel proof although the filler area needs to be done well which I think I achieved on this. It will be a nice cheap bike for someone eventually

I rarely achieve amazing. Nearly always just OK. But I'm happy with just OK. Saving the bikes and bettering them is my game. I don't have the skills, tools or time to achieve amazing I'm afraid.

Holy, Hammerrite! that’s possibly the worse paint job I’ve ever seen,
Much to humid to spray paint outdoors,

It's all I've got sadly. I have to do the best i can do with what I've got.
I disagree it's a terrible paint job. It actually suites the age of the bike. It would look silly being perfect with an aged bike.
