You have good knowledge here. I am thinking of getting this Harbor Freight air dryer for my air cooled pulse laser cleaning machine I've just bought. It moves 21cfm; I'm not sure how that will really flow at 100psi. Do you think I need to instal the extra filters on top of the machine? Many thanks!
@@jazzkunst a lot of the extra filters are to remove oil and dust and things like that. If your air compressor uses oil, you usually get some oil mixed in with the air so an oil separator is ideal but if you have an air compressor that doesn’t use oil, it may not be necessary.
I see the advantage for keeping the tank from resting as much. but the air cools down quite a bit while it's in the tank before it gets to the refrigerant air dryer The air coming off of the compressor is quite hot so if you were only compressing a small amount of air compared to what it's rated for it would probably work but it would probably be better to try and lower the temperature of the air before putting it in the refrigerant air dryer potentially using a radiator of some sort.
Usually a receiver tank is installed after the compressor and inline to the refrigerated air dryer to stop surging or oscillations in the air circuit, if your compressor has a tank on it already this would be the same, the output of that tank would go to the dryer input. You wouldn't, just take an output direct from an air compressor to a refrigerated air dryer.
Having moisture issues at my pallet shop in Florida. Would this harbor freight unit solve the issue? Nail guns getting way too much water in them and malfunctioning
@@sloppydoggy9257 the air coming out of the compressor head is extremely hot. The surface area of the tank helps cool it. Quite a lot so it’s more efficient at removing moisture. Depending the volume of air, you’re consuming would probably determine if you could go straight into the refrigerant air dryer the tank would last longer if it had dry air in it
An 8 minute video on the Harbor Freight Compressed Air Dryer, yet you only show the Harbor Freight Compressed Air Dryer for about a half a second. Maybe stay focused on what the video is about next time. Not swimming or painting, but the actual Harbor Freight Compressed Air Dryer.
I love your lisp ❤
Nice video bro. I liked a few tips you mentioned. Im gathering up parts to build a shop air compressor and dry air is a must.

Thanks for the video, do you know the Rated Load Amps? I can’t find it anywhere online or in the manual
Can the drier be installed before the tank? Or will that defeat the purpose of the dryer since the air will get hot in the tank?

yes it would be perfect do you use a lubrication unit as well ? some people like them for a pneumatic tools
@@CreativityUnleashed we don’t currently but I may buy one.
I have the same unit, i use it for a large cnc plasma table, it works perfect and I use alot of air
Why not dry the air before it goes into the tank?
