At work, all of our pneumatics are hydraulically operated. You could also minimize the issue by plumbing a radiator between the pump and tank. mount it next to the large pulley to use it as a fan to draw air across the radiator.

Dave , that big tank could be dangerous if it has had water in it for long periods of time. I have seen smaller tanks explode and the damage that they can cause is unbelievable and deadly. I am not sure if there is a way that the big tank can be checked to see if it is still safe to use. Just thought that I would mention that.

You can test it with a slag hammer point, too. Of course, not with the tank pressurized. That's how they used to test ship hulls in drydock.

  • @johnhinz1173

    • @budlanctot3060

That's what I was thinking, too. The factory probably used soft copper line to form that connection, and somebody used rigid copper line and horses it around to make it bend.

@@budlanctot3060 Yeah and good luck finding one if you need one. I had a Craftsman compressor back when Sears was still big, so I was able to get a replacement. Likely the PO didn’t have a choice but to make his own.

  • @herbholmberg4474
