  • Take a sneak peak at video demonstration for Patreon members only, where. we use a watercolour first, draw on top approach. In September we did a month's worth of demos on house portraits, in all different styles. This was one of my favourite sketches and processes. I loosely mark out the scene in pencil then loosely paint in watercolour and refine the details with ink and some other materials. I hope you love this demo and if you do:

    I love the fluidity of this example! There is no need for accuracy, just representation. The accuracy is what has always held me back from attempting to paint or draw. Thank you for showing me how to forget what colours and what lines are required to create art!! 👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰❤️

    I have never painted! It looks simple, but in practice it is more difficult.

    Interesting idea to paint first then add the ink line work.Some pros do this as part of their “direct watercolor” approach, without the subsequent line work. Your finished piece turned out great. Nice job! :)

    Great technique, I will try this on an urban sketch outing…it’s a perfect way to get the shape and proportions of the subject down on paper first and details afterwards.
    Lovely artwork by you.

    Taria, a very educational video. I enjoy a twsbi Eco too though my sketches are more often done with the Sailor fudes or even the Kakuno. Platinum Carbon, definitely. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

    Great sketch - what size nib on your twsbi, and which brand of platinum carbon ink do you use? Noodlers bulletproof takes way too long to dry on my paper (hours/days), so I often forgo my fountain pen and revert to a fineliner like a micron. For carbon inks, my biggest issue has been clogging.

      @tarias_sketchy_adventures  Год назад +1

      Sorry for my late reply - the nib I use on the TWSBI eco is Extra Fine. And the brand of ink is called "Platinum Carbon Ink", you can find it it easily on Amazon...

    Is that the hot press or cold press Etchr-Everyday 100% cotton journal? I have both, and I love the cold press and I have yet to open the hot press one. I'm excited to start my urban sketch houses in it. I do love this technique. But yea let me know!!

      Hi Kenneth, it's the hot press. I am not a huge fan of the cold press version, especially for drawing, I much prefer the hot press. BUT watercolour does behave very beautifully on the cold press surface. I'm glad you love yours. Let me know how you find the hot press!
