Knowing God Chakra and listening to OM from 18 till 25 is tempest!
This is a deep and philosophically heavy track. Saw OM live in 2014. Still one of the best experiences of my life (along with Sleep). The intro has Swami Vivekananda-- who I presume inspired this song and brought Yoga to the west. Look up Vedanta Society of New York. "State of non-return" sounds like sublimation of the ego in the non-dual reality, Brahman. Then there's the great Jiddu Krishnamurti towards the end. And the song ends around 5 min 45 seconds with two sanskrit verses from the Bhagavad Gita. (Chapter 5 named 'The Yoga of Renunciation' verse 19) that translates to "Those whose minds are established in equality of vision conquer the cycle of birth and death in this very life. They possess the flawless qualities of God, and are therefore seated in the Absolute Truth." The second sanskrit verse is from chapter 13 (titled 'Yoga through Distinguishing the Field and the Knower of the Field') verse 29 that translates to "Those, who see God as the Supreme Soul equally present everywhere and in all living beings, do not degrade themselves by their mind. Thereby, they reach the supreme destination."
what a great song!... here the lyrics guys:
Traveler now reach the stream. The astral flight adapter.
From the pain-sheath life ascends - the Non-returner sees.
Empathy release me - and the phoenix rise triumphant.
And walks onto the certitude ground - the soul's submergence ends.
From the rounds of rebirth - he arrives onto the deathless.
Light bores through the adjunct worlds - the soul-galleon prevails.
Liberates in wisdom to complete state of negation.
The five roads subsumed by grace - emancipates from dream.
👏
There is not much left to say after this song. Pretty amazing.
AWSOMENESS.....IT FEELS THE RIGHT VIBRATION BUDDYSSSS!
Hellbeast Those lyrics are awesome 👍👍👍
It sounds to me like "Light TRICKLES through the adjunct worlds"
I never get tired of this song. Great music!
I wish they’d make a whole album like this
I watched your video on vinyls, bought this LP thru amazon, and ordered a rega TT. Can't wait!! Thank you for doing what you do.
Love Om
@@papaemeritusii5915 that’s awesome! So glad my videos could help you!
Amazon is an evil corporation. Support small bussiness
Al's bass tone is just superb.
Massive respect to the dude who got the tambourine gig
He plays many different instruments with the band
spoonman
@@bebopalloobop you legend.
Do you even know who Robert Lowe is? I assume you don’t play an instrument
Anything with 'air' in front of it.
My dude at work who is in his 20's (I am 50) showed me this at work and it made me have hope for this planet. It is cool and being old and not being a douche and getting cool knowledge from younger people. People should try it... feels great.
bruh, I'm 38 and I've been listening to Sleep/Om for decades, you aren't that old. The trick is accepting any band that worships Sabbath.
yes!! fellow old dude working with younger fucks...i feel U...
Rickenbacker, Al Cisneros, Emil Amos, a Fly By Night t-shirt, tape recorders... so much awesomeness in one video
I, personally, couldn't care less whether this is regarded as 'Stoner Metal' (I, myself, am not a 'Stoner', but have nothing against those who are) or not...I think this is absolutely fantastic stuff.
Yes, it doesn't matter much at all what genre music is, if you feel it, you feel it
It moves you. It connects and transcends. Brilliant music..
Some bands , especially ones who dont smoke anything prefer "Dessert Rock." Scandanavian Stoner / Dessert Rock is sometimes called " Tundra Rock " :)
But some bands just dont fit in a box with a label on it
@@pal6636
"Desert Rock" derives from Kyuss, pre cursor to Queens of the Stone Age, because down in southern California in the early 90s they would avoid getting in trouble at house parties by going out to the middle of the desert were there were abandoned pools to skateboard in and have shows. I grew up in the High Desert/Mojave Desert back then there is a lot of cool abandoned shit out there. And that's how a large part of stoner rock started, and why it's also called desert Rock, I know nothing of it being related to not smoking, but if someone wants to call it that to not falsely imply they smoke that's cool. I think this is in a sub category called "occult rock" also, among the other sub genres.

The fact that Al is wearing a Fly By Night shirt makes this even better.
While playing on a Fender Rickenbacker bass, the same kind of bass Geddy Lee actually used on the album.
absolute gold. i could listen to a 30min version of this song and not a moment would pass.
When people tell me bass cant be used as a lead instrument i show them this
Motorhead Lemmy lead bass
GEEZER BUTLER..NUFF SAID
Just show em any song from sabbath's Master of Reality album, bass is louder than the guitar
Check out Bootsy Collins too
Les claypool...
This music is what accelerated my spiritual journey.

You're not wrong
You too!
Mily Cyrus hasn't put out any new material lately, so I've been exploring.
yeah, this' cool. im a huge fan of the band Sleep. check 'em out if'n you haven't already. 🤘
BASS! By Rickenbacker 🤘🏻
Them drums are pure fire.
I love the careful alchemy between instruments. Serious arrangement skills here.
The strings the bass the drums and hell even the tambourine meld together so fluidly and beautifully
This band helped me to find myself. Powerful stuff.

Same here, I am deeply pleased by this
I always return to this songs every 3 years or so.

Geezer Butler is realy proud ....Thank you boys....Your music is talking to my heart !!! THANK YOU !!
There's something in the way that Al sings "Complete state of negation" that simply soothes my savage soul.
Honestly it's one of the best music pieces i have ever heard.. The drums along with the rickenbacker are blasting through my KRK monitors... Greetings from Greece
Alexander Xandi they're playing in Athens on June 2, just booked my ticket.
Studio monitors for the win. Jusked up some Yamaha HS9s - wow this sounds great, along with everything else.
Emil Amos is a such a great musician
this song is on my opinion one of the greatest i ever heard. it has everything: dynamic, melody, feeling, its so much different of everything i've heard etc
Это невероятно. Услышав однажды, я был очарован этим навсегда.
Что есть то есть
This isn't a song but a lifestyle.
Pure bliss.
It gives me tingling goosebumps every time when that bass enters.
F4R207 wait till you watch it stoned.
same
played after dragonaut.
first time i heard om this is a masterpiece. im blown away
awesome thinking man everything you say or interpret is true in life we are a soul experiencing life in a human body or whatever body we combine with. that's when you realise how pointless the system is that has conditioned our lives as they are :)
George Emerson Same here!!
indeed
Unbelievable!
Agreed.

Then you are filled with awe
Love the included clip of Jiddu Krishnamurti. The guy was a philosophical genius. No one rivals him to this day.
Advaitic songs = album of the year !
i could watch al riff on the bass for HOURS AND HOURS!!!!
The arrangements with cello and violin provide a mystical and unique exotic atmosphere.
Thanks guys, congratulations!
The drums are fantastic, especially the way it's kept on the upbeat.
🔥THE BASS SOUND IS THE LAW !!! 🔥
Om, the only kind of drum and bass I have any time for.
The primordial vibration of the Universe....Ommmmm
And when you think it can't get any better you see the black dude enjoying the hell outta himself on the tamburin of doooooom! Epic on so many levels ;)
possibly the most emotionally resonant and physically fluid drumming i have ever heard
the best song i've ever listened to.
This is brilliant. Drum & Bass, Mr. Tambourine, & The Strings. Thank you Om & youtube suggestion. You've made my Sunday morning.
"Mr. Tambourine" is also the organ player/pianist
Om's sound has changed so much over the years... It's funny, Sleep are starting to sound like what Om used to sound like :p
True. But I saw Sleep's live performances, Al's voice is like not feeling it anymore. I think they changed their sound because of it. Sleep is basically Om with an electric guitar nowadays.
Exactly. I prefer early Om sounds. ^^
Good observation - but Pike ascending to release tone supreme / mosh-pit handler as om sees fit ... 🤘
Κομμάταρος!
So great to see musicians actually play instruments : )
Al's bass playing is insane.
I have vertigo after melting against the bass speakers during OMs set at Muddyroots. 10/10 would melt again.
What a voice!
One really needs a kick ass subwoofer to fully experience this song.
Brandon Herndon ... or just a pair of headphones.
Kamen Minkov A pair of headphones doesn't cause the room to tremble.
Brandon Herndon It doesn't need to.
Kamen Minkov
Have you heard this song through high quality speakers with a top shelf subwoofer? If not, then do so and then get back to me.
Brandon Herndon I wish I had, sir. I wish I had...
Love the fact that he's wearing a Fly By Night album art shirt in this...anxiously awaiting the next release from these guys!
THIS IS WHY WE MUST ENJOY THE MUSIC
This is the kind of music I like to play on guitar. Very therapeutic .
Officially my favorite song ever! THE NON-RETURNER SEES!
That bass intro is wicked with the drums trailing vicious!!
My pick for the greatest fucking song of all time for sure. I think I've spent more calories air-drumming to this than I did in all PE classes combined. The lyrics are sublime and very interesting and enlightening on their own, Al's singing is a blessing. I need more of this for sure.
Man i love this song..it's just awesome.
Saw these guys play in Minneapolis when they came through...the crowd went crazy at the heavy parts here. It's. So. Heavy.
The greatest band ever.
Has a king crimson feel to it,well done.
Absolutely excellent tune, and as a drummer, this is brilliant, especially the use of cymbals. So much more space without guitars. I hope for another album and tour.
So glad this music has found me. Amazing!
well said, it truly refreshes the core
drumming is insane
this is insanely good, I love the fact that its pretty much just bass and drums, and the cello and the violin make it so melodic and beautiful.
Mind = Blown
These should have 1 MILLION VIEWS ...
Best song of 2012.
Probably.
All I know is I keep coming back to it and rocking out
I’m here for you in 2023
Obviously I’ve been living under a rock for just now knowing about this rad band!
The cello is a nice touch...
That drummer slayed that kit, he reminds of me of brann dailor, groovy 4/4 patterns with a million really fast fills
This band has mystery like a trance.
Al Cisneros bro...holy shit...I’m in a completely different dimension right now
im not what anyone would call 'religious' but Om's music makes me believe
Beyond... anything. 💫
I was finally able to see them a couple months ago. The only thing I can say it was uplifting and such a feeling of oneness from the audience. One guy kept thanking them after every song, which o found appropriate. Like bowing to a teacher.
Damn It!!!! They just keep getting better.
If I had a soul, this is the song that would crush it into pieces... but the crushing itself would be the saddest, the sweetest piece-shattering feeling of wholesomeness, like the feeling you get when something unimaginably beautiful, makes you want to get out of your skin, just to get back in it once you understand you've had the honor of living or listening through something like this.. this song is pure darkness, deep and slow, it gets to you...
nikeja I have to respectfully disagree. This is not pure darkness but rather pure light. :)
Hirro Kuizon Agreed.. :)
nikeja this is the best comment I've ever read on youtube. cheers!
Joe Shit the Rag Man just like the song itself. :) thanks!
Hirro Kuizon Is there really a difference?
There’s no coming back after this trip!

If there's life after this life, I wish I can still listen to this
k, I've gotten to the point where I have to hear this at least once a day...it's just too GOOD..
Saw them live 2012 in Stuttgart. I hope they will play again
can't stop listening to this song... fantastic
im listening to om a long time, but for this song all the stars where aligned for the space and time these guys recorded it. its simply beyond awesome for me !
One of the best live bands that I've seen. Unreal they are!
World's gnarlyest bass line doing the dance with a string section.
Al rocking the 5-string Ric and a Rush Fly By Night t-shirt. Nice.
Still here listening.
Absolutely enthralling !
Awesome 🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵❤️🎧💥
I've discovered this amazing band from two days and I cannot stop listening to this beautiful tune!!!!
incredible production, my dear lord...
This is in my opinion the best song of the album.
Phenomenal!
Just saw OM in Connecticut. They were AWESOME!
One of the best bass tones I've ever heard
This is most excellent on hundreds of levels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the excellent music.
Big props for featuring Swami Vivekananda. Love OM!
It's all about killer tone!
Shiiit man, Cisneros' getting some fucking monstrous sound out of that bass from just what looking like twiddling his fingers around haha
legend legend legend!
Imagine if Sleep re-recorded Holy Mountain like this. It would be awesome
