This is a deep and philosophically heavy track. Saw OM live in 2014. Still one of the best experiences of my life (along with Sleep). The intro has Swami Vivekananda-- who I presume inspired this song and brought Yoga to the west. Look up Vedanta Society of New York. "State of non-return" sounds like sublimation of the ego in the non-dual reality, Brahman. Then there's the great Jiddu Krishnamurti towards the end. And the song ends around 5 min 45 seconds with two sanskrit verses from the Bhagavad Gita. (Chapter 5 named 'The Yoga of Renunciation' verse 19) that translates to "Those whose minds are established in equality of vision conquer the cycle of birth and death in this very life. They possess the flawless qualities of God, and are therefore seated in the Absolute Truth." The second sanskrit verse is from chapter 13 (titled 'Yoga through Distinguishing the Field and the Knower of the Field') verse 29 that translates to "Those, who see God as the Supreme Soul equally present everywhere and in all living beings, do not degrade themselves by their mind. Thereby, they reach the supreme destination."

what a great song!... here the lyrics guys:
Traveler now reach the stream. The astral flight adapter.
From the pain-sheath life ascends - the Non-returner sees.
Empathy release me - and the phoenix rise triumphant.
And walks onto the certitude ground - the soul's submergence ends.
From the rounds of rebirth - he arrives onto the deathless.
Light bores through the adjunct worlds - the soul-galleon prevails.
Liberates in wisdom to complete state of negation.
The five roads subsumed by grace - emancipates from dream.

Some bands , especially ones who dont smoke anything prefer "Dessert Rock." Scandanavian Stoner / Dessert Rock is sometimes called " Tundra Rock " :)

      @@pal6636
"Desert Rock" derives from Kyuss, pre cursor to Queens of the Stone Age, because down in southern California in the early 90s they would avoid getting in trouble at house parties by going out to the middle of the desert were there were abandoned pools to skateboard in and have shows. I grew up in the High Desert/Mojave Desert back then there is a lot of cool abandoned shit out there. And that's how a large part of stoner rock started, and why it's also called desert Rock, I know nothing of it being related to not smoking, but if someone wants to call it that to not falsely imply they smoke that's cool. I think this is in a sub category called "occult rock" also, among the other sub genres.

I was finally able to see them a couple months ago. The only thing I can say it was uplifting and such a feeling of oneness from the audience. One guy kept thanking them after every song, which o found appropriate. Like bowing to a teacher.

If I had a soul, this is the song that would crush it into pieces... but the crushing itself would be the saddest, the sweetest piece-shattering feeling of wholesomeness, like the feeling you get when something unimaginably beautiful, makes you want to get out of your skin, just to get back in it once you understand you've had the honor of living or listening through something like this.. this song is pure darkness, deep and slow, it gets to you...

nikeja I have to respectfully disagree. This is not pure darkness but rather pure light. :)
