on one side they want to grab money but on the other hand its the right direction to unify the players and show the diversity of creators that are there for so long
Wolfgang is one of the nicest people I have ever met in this hobby and is incredibly generous with his time. Seeing WotC and Kobold Press working together again warms my heart. Amazing collaboration! Fantastic interview and a lovely send-off by Wolfgang!
Crazy how Wolfgang just casually drops such a banger at the end "Whare you afraid of? Here, let me show you" 🗣🗣🗣🗣💥💥💥💥 Definitely having one of my BBEGs say that
It's really nice to see more and more great 3rd party content on Beyond! I use the Encounter tool every session, and having this book now available is a HUGE boon! Hopefully the others are following soon.
the updated illustrations are fantastic! I was always put off by the quality of drawings in this book but now thats its getting updated I might pick it up.
This is one of the only hardcover books on my shelf that sits comfortably (and thickly) alongside the PHB and other books. It dominates the space of course, but the point is it belongs there.
It’s always great to hear Wolfgang Bauer talk about their products at Kobold Press. I own their monster book: OG Tome of Beast, TB2, TB 3, and Creature Codex. All are must have for lost, curious, and bored DMs. Go gettem!
The addition of all this 3rd party content has finally made all of this more accessible for me and my players who only play on D&D Beyond. I'm very glad to see this continue!
The one monster book from Kobald Press I don't own already. I have Creature Codex and Tome of Beasts 2 & 3. I've used and modified many monsters from ToB2, and one was my players favorite fight of the entire campaign so far.
I'm all for kobold getting their money, but it's just funny that they raised the black flag in opposition of Hasbro/DnD, and yet, here we are selling on dndbeyond, haha
I find it baffling that WoTC decided to wait so long - years, to start offering quality 3rd party books and lore on DnDbeyond. Like so many people bought these books, sometimes also a VTT module of these books, and now years later it's being offered after so many people have 1 or 2 copies of these books already
Dnd beyond reaches an audience an order of magnitude larger than what 3rd party publishers can It also didn't make as much sense before dnd beyond had their maps feature tbh
D&D Beyond was purchased by WotC less than two years ago. Who knows how long third party content was on their roadmap, but I’m not surprised it wasn’t the very first thing they did on finalizing their purchase.
This is their way of doing a show of good faith after all the horrible decisiones they've made recently. They definitely weren't planning on doing this before, and when the other company owned DDB, they tried to get 3rd party content on the website and WoTC always said no every time (the only exception has always been Critical Role hehe)
I wholeheartedly agree that KoboldPress needs to start offering translations. I’m not much of a German speaker myself and I’m perfectly fine with English but I usually play in French and know quite a few GMs who would love to get KoboldPress material but are just not comfortable enough in English for it.
So I've already bought TOB from the DMs guild, whybdonI need to buy it again? What I would have paid for would have been a fee to transfer my DMs guild purchases to Dndbeyond
DM warning! ⚠️ Very fun product I’d recommend, I own and use all 3 of the monster books, but be aware of the very imbalanced CR ratings compared to any official D&D product. They are often way more powerful. If you allow them for spells and wildshape that use CR, they’ll be way more powerful unless you adjust the CR or stats to be in line with other creatures. Kobold Press products tend to be extremely unbalanced or poorly designed and worded in my experience, especially compared to quality products like The Griffon’s Saddlebag, (*shudders at Deep Magic*), but because monsters don’t need to be as balanced as player options to be fun and usable, the Tomb of Beast’s trilogy I still recommend. Another warning, a good amount of ToB creatures have specific lore and ties to creatures and settings in other non-ToB Kobold Press products, and sometimes it can be really frustrating when a creature is meant to be paired with that other creature, god, or setting, and the book tells you to find information in another product you don’t own.
NO WAY! I was not expected this, had dreams of wanting these on dnd beyond and finally becomes reality. This gonna help so much for my games! For any new to ToB, i can say the money is well spent. There are so much amazing and terrifying monsters in these books.
It's an updated version of the original Tome of Beasts that was released last year. Has all of the monsters from the original book, plus extra monsters, errata, etc.
Didn't Tome of Beasts have that one extra language, totally not deep speech, just to stop people from being able to communicate with aberrations? Because that was annoying and unfair. Didn't find any other problems with the book though if I'm talking about the right thing.
The influx of 3rd party content to D&D Beyond is awesome! So excited to hear that Kobold Press is bringing ToB1 to the platform.
on one side they want to grab money but on the other hand its the right direction to unify the players and show the diversity of creators that are there for so long
Can't wait for ALL of the Tome of Beasts. :)
Wolfgang is one of the nicest people I have ever met in this hobby and is incredibly generous with his time. Seeing WotC and Kobold Press working together again warms my heart. Amazing collaboration! Fantastic interview and a lovely send-off by Wolfgang!
The Kobold Press monster books are incredible. So happy to see even more people will get to enjoy them!
Crazy how Wolfgang just casually drops such a banger at the end
"Whare you afraid of? Here, let me show you" 🗣🗣🗣🗣💥💥💥💥
Definitely having one of my BBEGs say that
This is by far one of my favorite interviews. So hyped for KP.
It's really nice to see more and more great 3rd party content on Beyond! I use the Encounter tool every session, and having this book now available is a HUGE boon! Hopefully the others are following soon.
So happy to see this happen! Would love to see more Kobold Press content on DDB.

Kobold Press on D&D beyond? Okay, okay, they really really wanting people to come back. That's a solid attempt.
I'm more surprised to see Kobold Press accepting. I thought all the other companies showed them the middle finger and left to make their own system.
KP said, "OGL? We don't care if we make 3 million and have to give WoTC 2.3 million. 😂😂😂
Wolfgang is a living treasure. Prolific and talented.
love kobold press ^^
The addition of all this 3rd party content has finally made all of this more accessible for me and my players who only play on D&D Beyond. I'm very glad to see this continue!
The ball bearing golem is one of my all time low tier party monsters to run
The one monster book from Kobald Press I don't own already. I have Creature Codex and Tome of Beasts 2 & 3. I've used and modified many monsters from ToB2, and one was my players favorite fight of the entire campaign so far.
I use Ratfolk in cities in place of Kobolds or Goblins. The Shroud is nasty for 1st level PCs
Good job, DnD Beyond. Finally getting your head on straight about this 3rd party stuff.
Was obsessed with the Cave Dragon back in the day.
Yooo Kobold Press let's goooo
That ending is perfect! I love it.
I'm all for kobold getting their money, but it's just funny that they raised the black flag in opposition of Hasbro/DnD, and yet, here we are selling on dndbeyond, haha
One of the best monster books ever. Though I haven’t seen the 2023 updated version yet.
I cannot wait!! New dragons? Sign me up! (Sorry to my players)
Hurry up and bring the rest of their books in....
My group got to be play testers for the clockwork swarm and still loves it as an enemy

WotC has only owned dndbeyond for a couple years (May 2022).
D&D Beyond was purchased by WotC less than two years ago. Who knows how long third party content was on their roadmap, but I’m not surprised it wasn’t the very first thing they did on finalizing their purchase.

It might have been on DND Beyond’s road map long ago. But what if WotC said no until they could get the money?
More Kobold Press material!! I am ready to buy any and all. Bring it.
Every single release you have done recently looks incredible. Very excited by all of this
Great book and such great news to have it on the best platform! Good job!
Kobold Press is the best press
I love KP. I can't wait for their entire library to be on DDB.
I dont get it, KP is a fan book and now they are in d&d oficial library?
3:02 Is it possible to make Bear-folk in 5e? I do not recall it being official race.
Cannot wait!!!
I hope this book could be published in german, too. 🙏

thank you for listening to our community WotC!!!
Beautiful. 10 stars. FINALLY
I had no idea this existed or would become available on DDB. This is gonna be sweet!
I love this person’s voice so much!
Kobold Press makes amazing materials. A great brand that cares about gaming and it's consumers = amazing products.
Will other tome of beasts vol 2,3 creatures codex and heros of Midgard make it way to dnd beyond ?
So awesome!
So I've already bought TOB from the DMs guild, whybdonI need to buy it again? What I would have paid for would have been a fee to transfer my DMs guild purchases to Dndbeyond
It's a different format.
I will always love Kobold Press for actually giving players archfey npcs and statblocks, like WotC could never be bothered to.
personally tomb of beasts 3 is my favorite
Dude yes!!!!!
Best Bestiary for 5E ever made hands down! Better than anything WOTC ever did for sure!
Void. Like the Elemental Plane of Air and the Negative Energy Plane had a baby.
Which one of you pressed these kobolds?
If I already have the pdf and book will I be able to get it transferred for free on D&D beyond or get a code?
No, different format.
I REQUESTED THIS ONE!!!
Bravo!
YES! Finally!
I thought this stuff would be saved for tales of the valiant?
Need Prepared thos have saved me many times
If I'd known this was coming I wouldn't have bought it on roll20 >_>
how likely are 2 + 3 + Creature Codex?
>.> I've had it for a while now. But yes, I love it! And the monster codex.
Is this the new revised edition that they released recently?
This is really cool, and I am thankful for third party content but please add custom classes
Hope we get more dragons.
INSTANT PURCHASE! Thanks for doing this. FEED US MORE
And in two months Kobold Press’s Tales of The Valiant will be released..
Nice

GRIMHOLLOW PLAYER CONTENT WHEN
Will there be unpainted miniatures to support the new Tome of Beasts?
Let's Goooo!
NO WAY! I was not expected this, had dreams of wanting these on dnd beyond and finally becomes reality. This gonna help so much for my games!
For any new to ToB, i can say the money is well spent. There are so much amazing and terrifying monsters in these books.
What a difference 18 months makes.
Do you guys think they will allow the people who already own the PDF to use it in DnDB? ...
If you want to import the monsters yourself, you can, they've never stopped people doing that, you just can't make them public.
Wait? Is this a new one, or just new to D&D Beyound?
I think its just new to DND Beyond. If I remember correctly, the original Tome of Beasts 1 came out in 2016
Precisely the book was out years ago? @@10TARDIS
It's an updated version of the original Tome of Beasts that was released last year. Has all of the monsters from the original book, plus extra monsters, errata, etc.
@@disciple012 It looks like there's some new art too!
Add Frog God Games Tome of Horrors!
Whee!
Does that mean nexus 5e is dead?
I hate people who just think dragon= murder
I am afraid of the Undead
KP is awesome, Midgard is an amazing setting, drink the kool aid!
Is that Ted from nerd immersion
Better Late Than Never
So it's now basically official content??
1st. 🎉🎉🎉
Are those book canon?
No such thing in D&D. Canon is only what you make it at your table.
Didn't Tome of Beasts have that one extra language, totally not deep speech, just to stop people from being able to communicate with aberrations? Because that was annoying and unfair. Didn't find any other problems with the book though if I'm talking about the right thing.
Old book, old news
How is it old news that a revised edition of a book that was released last year was added to D&D Beyond for the first time today?
