    Are you wondering how to relax your throat muscles? If you are dealing with muscle tension dysphonia, or just experience vocal strain symptoms, consider these three types of vocal tension release exercises. Some of them are simple muscle relaxation techniques that you can do in the comfort of your home, some of them are vocal exercises to relax throat muscles. And some of them are the key to muscle tension release from your voice. If you are not considering all three types of exercises, you may be still wondering how to treat muscle tension dysphonia effectively or how to relax throat muscles for good.

    Thank you, Katarina. I am an elderly woman and would like to do all I can to continue singing with my sing-along friendly neighborhood group. Aging and 3 years of COVID absence from singing has taken its toll. I trust your approach and look forward to learning as much as I can to relax and enjoy "carrying on".

      Many singers have a similar challenge - after not using their voice due to the pandemic, many of them are returning to singing. I suggest that you create a vocal routine that you can follow regularly several times a week and slowly increase the time you use your voice for singing. Also, body movement and overall body endurance will be important for you. I wish you all the best.

    Hi Katarina my mother has a wrinkled chin and the muscles of chin are so tight that she is able to fill air in the mouth but not in the chin, her lower lip goes inside the mouth when she opens her mouth. What should I do.

    Hi,I have no voice issue i had lisping and i cleared that but now i feel lot of pressure from my tongue to my lower teeths while speaking s and z

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  2 года назад

      It seems like you were able to move your tongue more backwards when dealing with the lisp but the tongue is still very strong and it's pushing on your teeth. I would recommend some tongue stretching and tongue massage. Speak to your speech therapist again to learn how to do those exercises.

    Hello madam... I am a Indian classical vocalist... So, recently I have started going to gym and lifting weights... And i feel that the muscle around my neck is getting stiff... And my voice is shaking... So, I want to know that, is lifting weights is bad for singers? Am i hurting my voice

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  2 года назад +1

      When lifting weights, we usually close the vocal folds as well as the false vocal folds to create enough abdominal pressure to lift heavy objects. Sometimes, people who lift weights even grunt and make sounds, which may create some tension in and around the larynx. As a singer, I would suggest starting with lighter weights and using a lot of breath when lifting them. become aware of how much effort you are using at the level of the vocal folds. You may be able to use less effort in that area and more effort in the body.
