Joined a band 6 months ago and have averaged 4-9 sets a weekend. This is the first time my muscles are exhausted. Now keep in mind I’m not the lead but still sing 60-70% of the set and these exercises really hit all the sore spots. Great video thank you for the exercises. Definitely will be using them all week to shape up and last the rest of the busy season 👍

They can be difficult! Often times, people release too much air. Try thinking of a light hum, or even vocal fry, behind the lip trill. That might help balance the air pressure a little better, if you're having the same problem I did. Also remember that as you go higher up, the voice needs less and less air to operate.

I had been a somewhat decent singer however I now have a paralyzed vocal fold. I've tried to overcome the compensation I've developed to create sound by squeezing my throat to force my folds closer together. I didn't do this intentionally, it just happened. Now I can't unlearn it. Having to have injections of filler and Botox given by a voice physician. I've had some guidance but I'm not responding well. I'm sure it's not the therapist, it's my lack of understanding. I never had to try so much to create the sounds I wanted to. Do you have any experience with PVF (Paralyzed Vocal
    Folds)? 😢

This fundamentally changes my understanding of how the voice works. I did not realize that vocal strain is more than and often is outside the voice box.
The way I learned to use my voice was with all the focus in my throat on producing sound because that’s where the sound is actually made. But I had to relearn how use my voice to remove that strain, but it seems I have only moved the strain to my core instead of training to remove the strain entirely.
This video has taught me more than any teacher or tutor has ever taught me about how to produce vocal sounds without hurting myself.
    Thank you

These videos, no disrespect, are rediculas if you think reaching vocal ranges are this easy. It takes work, it takes "stretching" vocals to reach ranges. Fact is just sing as hard as possible until you tune your voice up, otherwise you're not gaining nothing. You want a good 3 dimensional voice or just FLAT vocals?... it's up to you according to how much effort you put into it. There is no easy way, you PUSH it or you just don't gain it simple as that. I've done these training videos before and got zero results out of them. Only PUSHING for my desired vocal ranges has ever got me anywhere. It's like weight lifting, no pain no gain, if you're voice isn't changing then you're not gaining. Big difference between easy flat vocals that require little effort and 3 dimensional vocals that actually require work. Vocal ranges is what makes good singers, not just finding a "comfortable" range and staying there. Finding vocal ranges?... shit man MAKE the vocal ranges don't just find em'. PUSH for vocal ranges, not just accept what comes naturally. Good singers MAKE vocals ranges by exorcising the voice like a weight lifter does his muscles pushing weights.

I think I have tension in my larynx too since my larynx goes really high on the high notes and muscles show on my neck when I sing notes in the 6th octave but they don’t sound strained. • @ramseyvoicestudio

If you feel that push under your chin, then your tongue is not relaxed. What you're feeling there is the digastric muscle connected to the root of the tongue. This doesn't get fixed in one 60 minute lesson. It takes continued practice

I am happy to watch your music channel. If I can suggest something, I think it is worth making a video about the very talented young singer Viki Gabor. Has some great singles and music videos on YT. Maybe you will see?

Question: so I had surgery last year and had a tube in my throat, now my singing voice is more " raspy " and I have to cough in the middle of holding a note 😣 so I've kind of given up 😭 its been so long and I don't feel its getting better any tips on what could help?

it can happen with those tubes, but also check what you're eating in case it's also contributing:

Man you rock! You explain everything so clear. It almost seems easy. Can't wait to start. (Although the lip thrill itself fysically seems impossible to perform ) Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻

@@ramseyvoicestudio hahaha. It does. I tried during my 1,5 hours drive to my parents (alone in the car, no embarrassing moments...) And I tried a little too long and got a little too dizzy 😆

Just joined a Barber Shop choir and have been allocated to the Lead section. This is great because quite often I know the songs having sung them when they were on teh radio or similar. But, I cannot get the high A (interestingly that was the first note you demonstrated 😂). I worry that I will never be able to achieve it, so these exercises I hope will help.👍👍😉

Please answer my question, should I be doing this everyday or just before I sing? Will doing it everyday help so that the next time I sing I won't feel tension again? thank you and have a nice day.

yes I agree with the tongue tension!! Probably my biggest problem especially when singing high operatic notes as well as high belts! I liked the "ng" neutral exercise to start with!

Yes Cinderella, tongue tension is so common, especially on high notes!

I always thought the tounge moving around was used to help push to higher and lower notes. Making me rethink everything. And its alot simpler than I thought
