Another incredibly beautiful video. Your ability to mix stunning scenery, information, comedy and tell a story really is what keeps people coming back over and over and over again. Magnificent it really was
Martin & Julie. You undoubtedly have, in my opinion, the best looking narrowboat out of the many RUclipsrs on here. Great vlog full of great content. Thank you and have a wonderful week!
It really was special, when we came out of the tunnel it was just wonderful! To hear the birds and the stunning scenery, was just lovely! Thanks Steve! xx
Great video. It's all more fun with friends! 🥰 I was glad that Pete and Caroline carried on because I really enjoyed their early Crick videos. It was interesting to see all the work going into the show and all the boat launches as well. ❤
Aww. Great to see you cruising and working together so well with Pete & Caroline. Must make locks so much easier with 2 of you. Fab drone footage and that sunset looked stunning. See you soon xx
Great to see you working well with Pete and Caroline 😊 that bird song when you came out of the tunnel was amazing 😊 beautiful mooring, English countryside at it's best ❤ stay safe ❤
Hi Joan, Braunston is a lovely place, we loved it there and yes, it was lovely working the locks with our friends, made it so much easier! Thanks Joan! xx
Hi Chris, thank you! Martin’s still quite poorly, but I’m getting there. I’ve been editing this over the last three days, hopefully it ended up ok, thank you! xx
Hiya! Yes, my favourite is the view coming out of a tunnel, but this was amazing! And although I wasn’t really feeling up to editing, I really enjoyed that bit, especially the birdsong! Thank you! xx

Hi Margaret, we’re definitely feeling a bit better now, although Martin is still full of it. This was recorded before the Crick boat show, it was lovely spending time with Caroline & Pete. Thank you for your kind words xx
Coming out of the tunnel was a delight. The scenery!..and the birds! Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for another great video...and, no, you can't beat the English countryside for sheer beauty.
I wanted do as not to risk waking you. I see this was September? We had freezing this morning for the first time this fall. I had beautiful tomato plants that were still producing tomato’s. They are gone this morning with the freeze. We have. Holiday coming up next week. I will get to watch your video on the day of thanksgiving next week. We are having a Thanksgiving meal at our house. We are having friends over. All my family live pretty far away so just friends. It was 29 F this morning about 2 C for you. I found the bubble upside down in the water interesting. Just a good morning from Oklahoma. Have a good week. I will catch you next week. Now I’m heading too paint a picture. Be safe.😊 Cindy in Oklahoma.
Hi Cindy, yes we are a little behind with the footage due to the filming with Ch4, we ended up cruising further and quicker than we usually do, as they needed us to keep to a schedule, I will try and catch up over the next couple of weeks perhaps with a couple of extra videos. The water bubbling up in the lock was fascinating wasn’t it! Looking forward to seeing your next painting! Have a lovely week Cindy! xx
Wonderful vlog! Thank you for putting forth the effort even though you didn’t feel well, it turned out really great. I always enjoy the tunnel exit views and your wonderful drone footage. Take care hope you both feel better soon. 🤗❤️
Aww thank you so much Donna, my favourite bits are the tunnel exits, I’ll never get bored of that, and this one when we emerged to the lovely scenery and birdsong was just beautiful! Thanks Donna! xx
Great blog as always try wearing a masks when going though tunnels make most off your friends you never know when they going to be gone I'm just about to loose my second friend in two weeks both from the same cancer he loved lough at you and watching your blogs you must get that light fixed its going to be worse this week after crick though tunnels so wear a mask guys stay safe guys x
Aww so sorry to hear you are losing friends to that awful cancer, our heart goes out to you, must be hard ❤️🩹 We’ve fixed the light now, just got to get over this wretched covid bug, glad you enjoyed this vlog, I only finished editing it this morning! xx
Hi Julie & Martin, I hope you enjoyed your ice lollies yesterday at wilton Marina. We was checking out various narrow boats for sale . Sorry we didn't get chance to have a chat guys we were filling our faces with food lol. Really looking forward to getting out on the waterways next year once we have sold our home.
Hi guys hope your both feeling better. Great teamwork with Julie and Caroline while the boys were chilling. Have a fantastic week.. P S the boat we wanted has sold x😢
Oh, so sorry you missed that boat, but don’t be upset, that one obviously wasn’t for you, there will be a better one around the next corner. Your boat will find you! Hope you and Martin are both well xx
Hi Debbie, that would be lovely. We’re currently at Gayton, as we’ve popped this way to see friends, but we’ll be heading back to Braunston to be there for the Historic Boat Rally at the end of June xx
We love your videos! What an inspiring lifestyle - and one we hope to lead ourselves sometime in the future! Tunnels would definitely be a highlight of a cruise like that - it's like bursting out from the depths of the earth into the daylight!
Hiya, it’s lovely coming out of a tunnel, when the light at the end clears to reveal the outside landscape! You never know if it going to be sunny, rainy, greenery, or buildings, I just love that bit! So glad you’re enjoying our videos and hope one day to see you both out on the cut! Thank you! xx
It’s funny isn’t it, even with both klaxons people still can’t hear our horn. We just make sure we are going slow so we can avoid any collision. Thanks John! xx
Wow what a fantastic mooring, lovely to see you with Pete and Caroline. I forgot to ask where did you get your belt you put your windlass in, such a great idea ❤❤❤❤
Great vlog. Last year we moored right there in Braunston. Great spot. Lock buddies are such a help especially those locks as they are so heavy. We’re hoping for lock buddies on our upcoming cruise. In the past lock sharing led to other boaters giving us great advice and fun conversations.
@@JulieandMartinonRIB I have just remembered, since losing my dad been staying with me mom and she as TV where as here I do not, and Martin there's a advert on the TV to do with budgie smugglers, I laughed and my mom asked why I started laughing so I showed her your video where you said this and she said ohhhh Martin That would be worth a giggle 🤭🤭🤭
Hi Sheila, yes it’s called a GO Windlass, it has a ratchet, so when you come across a really stiff lock paddle, you can work it easier, I wouldn’t be without mine! You can only buy them through the company and they either send it out to you, or you can collect from a couple of locations, they’re not available online or on Amazon etc. here’s the phone number I had for them 07434 987281 Thanks Sheila! xx
@JulieandMartinonRIB thanks! I am definitely going to order one of those before my next narrowboat trip. Some of the locks are quite tough. Also, if you ever want to take another trip to the states, let us know. We can be your tour guides for other areas in addition to Memphis. Ever heard of Tupelo - this is where Elvis was born and raised.
MARTIN DID WELL IN THAT TUNNEL BLIMEY IT WAS DARK BUT THE VIEW WAS GREAT WHEN YOU CAME OUT I SAW THAT TUNNEL WITH MIKE AND JACKIE I DONT KNOW IF YOU KNOW THEM
Yes, it was very dark in the tunnel, but like you say, Martin did well! When we came out it was so beautiful, and the birdsong was just stunning! Thanks Derek! xx
I think they contact the owner for them to retrieve their boat, but sometimes it’s not that simple, if the owners don’t remove it, then there’s red tape to sort before CRT can intervene, and then there’s also cost …. who pays? 🤷♀️ It’s such a shame seeing sunken boats, it’s very sad xx
Lovely vlog! Like to see you all together traveling the canals but can i be controversial here: why is it the girls have to do the hard work at the locks and the boys just sit and watch?
