Meet Belinda Hewer | Owner of Belinda Hewer Art

Belinda Hewer was born on 10 June 1970 in Pretoria and enjoyed art from a very early age. She wanted to draw faces accurately for my school projects so she started to observe people and try to draw them as realistically as she could. From there her love of art grew. She started seeing the world differently and observed everything through the eye of an “ artist in training”.
During her school days, she was tutored by a professional artist in our neighbourhood and after school, she started to paint and experiment more with different mediums and subjects. She spent time researching art, design, use of colours and the many varied techniques used by artists.
In 2005 she started teaching art to children, adults and older people at retirement villages. The more she taught, the more her skills developed.
Since 2013, she has really been working on channelling her style of art into a direction that challenges her and inspires her with every stroke of her brush and palette knife.
She loves doing impressionistic work mixed with realism which allows the viewer to explore her work and enjoy visually completing it. Like the great composer J.S.Bach, she signs each artwork with SDG- Soli Deo Gloria (for the glory of God alone). Her greatest wish is that her work pleases God, those who view her work and those who own her art pieces.
