I love how these kids get to have their own opinion and their parents always acknowledge each one as an individual. I am so sorry about the loss of Andrea, she was one in a billion and clearly will be missed.
I am in awe at how well she knew every person in her life, especially her kids and accepted them for who they are. She always was so thoughtful at what “he/she likes”❤️ So much to be learned from her and thanks to these videos she will continue to teach.

From what I see: Andrea lived her life with purpose. She was an exceptional woman, wife, mom, teacher, healer, homemaker, entrepreneur, you name it! Something tells me she fulfilled her purpose in her short life... Not saying her sudden death isn't heartbreaking, she just really knew how to live in the moment, and got stuff done. May she RIP 💖. Her children will always be protected and guided by her legacy. God bless them all!

Eden is such a good helper. I was interested to see her sense of style come out even within the family guides. Are you able to hand very much down or do the kids wear them out first? You are an awesome mom. I had two sons and was not nearly as organized!
Susan Robinson she talked about this is the video where she explained the clothing shopping chart. The day to day clothes they generally wear until they're worn out and things like snow gear and dressy clothes that are more limited usage get handed down as much as possible. That's why she talked about needing to adjust the budget because they had to buy new jackets this year.

Eden's got such pretty skin and eyes, what a beautiful young lady! She's always so quiet, and well behaved. I love how the Mills kids aren't grabby and throwing tantrums in public and are so polite.
Can always tell a true mother at heart, she straightens up the stack of shirts on the display when she messes it up. Andrea has the patience of a saint, and her organizational skills rival those of Fortune 500 CEO's! And big brother jumping in to soften the blow to poor Solomon about donating undies, unasked, hits me right in the heart, I know its "just" undies, but the special printed ones can really be special to a little one, very touching!

I love your channel I'm 13 and live in a trailer with 3 others I always have wanted a big magazine house but then I watch your video I know there are so many other ways to do it plus you have way more people and manage to do it in a small house
We usually wait to buy coats until the weekend after thanksgiving (NOT black friday). We found that most of the clothes sales continue on at Wal-Mart through that weekend. We have lucked out a time or two on $5 per pair snow boots, and $10 per jacket (family of 7 here). We have also found consignment stores where we can take our gently loved clothes, and get store credit to re-shop there.

Instead of throwing old clothes away, you can donate it to places that recycle fabric, some goodwills will do it for you.
We have to drive quite a distance to donate items, so it might be months before I take them in. Since I don't have a lot of room to store stuff in the meantime, I only keep stuff I know for sure can be resold.

its sweet you dress them alike, but with daughters, those days are numbered. looks like Eden is already trying to be her own style. Boys are easy, girls, whew. lol.
I was thinking the same thing about the girls. But great shopping haul. I think I need to do this, not so exact but a good overall of what my kids have might make my life a little easier!
W. Leo I myself do this with my income taxes every year. My kids get two new wardrobes a year. beginning of school and tax time. Of course there's always a few needs in between, like socks, my boys can't keep them, lol.
Its just color, so im assuming when theyre older they can wear whatever style, as long as its still the color, so thatll work better.
If there's one where you live, you should try Burlington coat factory. There's sometimes better deals there than there is Walmart. I work as a mark down associate there and so I see the deals as soon as we get them. They've had name brand (not like it matters) things that would usually be (just throwing a number out there) $100 go to as low as $5 and cheaper. Sometimes you're better off to buy at Walmart but it's good to check there too. Hope this helps (:

have you ever shopped online for clothes? I always shop for my boys jeans at Crazy8, they go up to a 14 in boys and I find them on sale for $8.88 each plus there are alot of places you can find coupons for that store, I usually pay $7.10 each and they are great quality

That was so interesting! You get an award for patience! 😀 I have a question that's been intriguing me for a while: do you always wear short sleeves even in really cold weather? I've never seen any of you wearing a sweater. Is that because you just don't feel the cold or is your house really warm?
Yes, I wear short sleeves year-round. (All of us do!) It's a bit of both. Our house does stay very warm in the main rooms. I've also noticed that we adjust better to the cool weather when we don't over-dress. Last winter I wore flip-flops every day unless we were going for a long walk. I found that my feet never felt very cold. Even when I stepped in a puddle of slush my feet felt cold at that moment, but they'd dry really quickly and feel warm again within minutes- nothing like stepping in slush with shoes and socks on! I was so intrigued by this that I started researching and learned a lot about brown fat and about how going out in cold weather without being bundled up (for a short time) is very stimulating to your immune system, especially when combined with sunlight. (In the old days they called it heliotherapy and they had hospitals that treated patients with cool air and sunlight.) We started purposely playing outside for short periods without coats and I even took Claudia out on winter days with just a blanket loosely covering her. (I'm talking for 10 minutes or so.) She's 14 months old and so far has never been sick other than having a runny nose for a few days once. The rest of my kids (as well as Tom and I) rarely get sick.
Andrea Mills thanks for such a detailed answer to my question, Andrea! That's really interesting. I think many of us probably bundle up TOO much! And our buildings are so hot these days! Whenever I'm in a hospital I think - gosh, it's like a sauna in here. It can't be good for people with all the germs in there.

Yes, Kelley is right. We wear short sleeves year-round. If they go outside, they bundle up in coats anyway. Inside our house tends to be overly warm in the main rooms, so it's not a problem. Unless it's very cold (freezing temperatures) we don't even need the heat during the day and sometimes have to open doors and windows in the dead of winter. I guess we warm the house with body heat! (The basement stays more comfortable year-round.)

Just a thought, if the puffy paint doesn't work for some clothing items, you could always do a few stitches of some colored thread to identify items. Then, with something like boots, you could cut the threads and place new ones when needed. Also, I'm really glad to see you let Eden have the Hello Kitty shirt. :)
The children's place has jeans year round for $7.99 and they are great quality. They have sizes up to 20 I think. It's the only place I buy my 4 boys jeans from. Just a suggestion:)

You remind me so much of my mom. Maybe that is why I have become such a faithful follower of you. I live 2.5 hours away from my family now and can only visit once a month. It is so obvious that you love your kids when you remember all the little things that each individual child likes.

My daughters have the same black boots. My 6 yr old loves them. The brown shoes you bought for Sophia, y 3 yr old has them as well. LOL. Watching you shop has helped me, I saw some things I'd like to get for my girls.
I miss snow but I do not miss all that goes with the cold weather. LOL Sweatshirts are just fine here in the Bay area for the cold nights. Oh, all the gloves and boots and coats we used to buy! I am thankful we do not need to buy all that anymore. LOL.

Someone probably already put this but I just bought jeans for my kids at The Children's Place today for 7.99 without a coupon. Usually there is a free shipping code online as well. That is the only kind I have bought now for 7 years. They hold up great and have adjustable waist. I never spend more than 9 bucks a pair. Plus I think they have up to size 14 or 16 :) Not really my business, but I just thought I would pass that tidbit along. I LOVE your videos! They are so calming and inspiring!!
I really used to like children's place until recently. My boys will rip holes in their jeans in 2 months. I love the jeans from Costco for my boys, they seem to really hold up.

in total wow, you do amazing you are so well organised and the children just put away their laundry with out a protest, my 2 grandchildren live with me now as my daughter passed away suddenly in 2015, and they complain all the time but they still have to do it lol.
Our kids are color coded for the calendar! We have older children with work schedules and kids with lots of medical appointments, so I can see at a glance if it is a "Rainbow Day" lol

I don't know if you have an old navy near you, but next shopping trip you may look there! They have nice clothes and usually lots of color options! You could also look online! Just so you know their clothes run close to size! And their sales are amazing! check out black Friday sales too! they have awesome black Friday sales!!!

The childrens place has great deals on jean's several times a year. Not sure if that is the same time as your bi annual clothing shopping but definitely check them out online. I believe they were 6.99 a pair. . . Walmart seemed little expensive. Thank you for sharing your shopping trip!

Out of curiosity, how come you dress the girls and boys differently? Why not put the girls in polo's and pants too?
Sometimes the girls do wear polos and jeans. I don't know about other people, but at our house the boys don't really care what they wear, but the girls love dressing up in pretty dresses.
