    I can't afford a decent blender but I use my magic bullet and then I sift the ground zucchini. What passes through the sieve is for flour and the bigger bits is snuck into soup or spaghetti sauce for unsuspecting fussy grandkids. 😊

    I’ve found that I always have to dehydrate longer than the manual or recipes call for. I live in the Deep South and the humidity is brutal! And I, too, have forgotten things in the dehydrator and had to re-run it. Oh well…

    I'll have to try this with store bought squash this year because we didn't have a good production this season either. Usually we are overrun with squash lol. I'm glad I found your channel and got back into dehydrating foods. It's been decades since I used one regularly. I'm using an older (one temp) dehydrator for now and have dried quite a bit of our garden produce this season. Looking forward to doing much more dehydrating along with my usual canning. Thank you for showing new things to dehydrate and recipes for them!

    I’ve got a ton of young Rampicante squash. I’m going to do this to see if it will thicken my Keto sauces and recipes that tend to be on the thinner side.

    Hey lady. Could you please do a video showing us how to make smoked paprika. I am wanting to make my own using my bumper crop of pimento peppers and I am needing the help of a professional. If you don't want to or can't, I totally understand. If you are able to, that would be FABULOUS. Hope you are all well and that you are no longer down with the sickness. Take care, may God bless you and yours. Bye for now.

    This vid was so timely…I was given yellow squash two weeks in a row. Since I’ve never grown or used it, I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but didn’t want it to go waste. TY Darcy for this very informative vid. God bless you! ❤️❤️

      You can raw pack, waterbath can any squash with a bit of lemon juice and fruit juice. Apple juice give apple flavored, pineapple gives... You guessed it, pineapple. Use it like you would a can of that fruit, pies, cakes, turnovers, etc.

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  Месяц назад +1

      It loses so much of its body when frozen, but if you have it frozen in a state you want it in, you can dry it. Powdering can come from any version of fresh or frozen.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️I think I know the answer to this and wasn’t sure where to post the question, so I’m putting it here in hopes of getting an answer. Am I correct that you should not add newly dehydrated items to previously stored ones in the same jar?

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  10 месяцев назад

      No - you can certainly add them together - as long as they are both properly dry. I give myself about a six month window - older than 6 months that haven't been rotated I use up and start a new jar for the newer projects - but there's no set rule.

    Darcy - off topic for this video, but I thought you had done a video on dehydrating black olives (#10 size cans I got at a great price) but I can't find it. Is it an OK thing to dehydrate? & if so, will hot water rehydrate them and look at least reasonably edible? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks in advance. I love your videos & my "dried" stores are growing!! God bless you & yours 🙏

    This might be a silly question but can you use these types of flours for coating meat like chicken? My daughter has a gluten allergy and I thought this might be something we could do.

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  10 месяцев назад

      It doesn't work the same way - in my preference - but you can use it to supplement those flours that do work for it.

    I live in FL. Still having trouble with clumping.. I add arrowroot powder, a desiccant and vacuum seal after each use. Do you have any advice for humid climates??

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  10 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on what's clumping. If you condition the powder before storing, don't open and use over the stove, don't bother vacuum sealing (that can create a clumping affect on some things). www.thepurposefulpantry.com/keep-dehydrated-powders-dry/

    I’m confused at the ratio of flour and zucchini,so was it wrong with the 1 cup+ 2/3 flour ,then1/3 zucchini???

    • @ThePurposefulPantry

      That is what I said...it was wrong. 1/3 of the volume, not simply 1/3 cup

      @@ThePurposefulPantry so an example to clear it up in my old brain would be if you have to put in 2 cups of flour you would add 4/3+2/3 zucchini? Sorry
